My daughter is thirteen and has been attending OAM Studios for the better part of eight years,…read moresince she was five. Before her very first trial class, I was afraid she would have trouble focusing and following directions. (Let's just say that in dance class she had mostly made faces at herself in the mirror or freestyled it unless I expended 200% of my energy making her practice her routines at home.) She went into her first art class wanting to draw a peacock chasing a cat, with no idea how. After an hour, her teacher had modeled a drawing for her, and she had paid attention beautifully, following his directions carefully. The teachers who work there have, from what I understand, been trained to teach art by building skills in sequential stages, helping students accomplish one skill and one project before moving on to the next. I believe this works well for all types of kids, not only for self-guided, serious kids, but especially for the playful ones, who need direction for their ideas. The staff knows how to be serious, but they are also wonderful at relating to some of my daughter's interests and talking to her in ways that I can't. She takes both pottery and the regular two-hour art lessons. Miss Molly and Miss Anissa are her teachers now, and she truly values their instruction and her time with them. OAM Studios continues to teach my daughter the importance of patience, perseverance, and attention to detail, values not only important to artistic growth but also in life. It takes a village to raise a kid, and OAM Studios has been a valuable part of our village.

Wow - what an experience!…read more I signed up for the introductory class with my partner today in the early afternoon (Tues. 11AM) and we were lucky enough to essentially have a solo coaching session with Omar. He has an incredibly sincere personality, a wealth of lived experience (trained in Europe, traveled to Africa) and a gentle but direct style of teaching. Omar was very patient with us and knew when to step in when we seemed clueless to ensure that our finished product did not look like a sad pile of mud at the end. This is definitely a rare find and an opportunity that you won't want to pass up if you're looking for a wholesome way to 'touch grass' (or clay) as the kids say these days. He's been doing this since high school, so the guy knows what he's talking about. You will definitely walk away feeling inspired and with super smooth hands from playing with clay for an hour. Go with a friend, family member or that special someone who doesn't mind getting their hands muddy for the memories. Highly recommend!

My girlfriend and i had an amazing time in our first pottery class. We were able to learn how to…read morework the wheel, get familiar with the clay, and we were given a step by step on how to create our own bowls. Our instructor was Omar. He was great! He was funny, welcoming, and he was obviously a pro at pottery and teaching others. Our session was a mix of experienced people and newbies like ourselves. But Omar was great at making sure everyone was on the same page and progressing at a pace that was fair for everyone. In the end, we were able to stamp letters into our bowls. We also payed for the fire and glazing which really put an amazing finishing touch on our bowls. we were able to choose the color pattern, and pick it up when it was ready. We had a blast in our first pottery class and it may have unlocked a new shared hobby. Big thanks to Omar and the Clay Club in Tracy!

Her glass selection is excellent and her instruction is incredibly helpful. I am so glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews of this studio. My 12 year old daughter and I signed up for the beginner stained glass course. It did take us longer than the 6 weeks to finish our pieces but I wasn't mad because the website warned me it might take longer and the owner also warned me when we picked the pieces we did. The finished products were well worth the time. My daughter and I had so much fun and learned a lot. My daughter has now finished two pieces. I finished a window panel and am now starting my second piece. I will definitely continue coming back here to learn this beautiful craft. This is the place you want to go if you want to learn how to work with glass.

If you are looking for a studio with a calming environment and experienced instructors, Expression8…read moreis a great place to go. I emailed them to set an appointment. The instructor who runs this studio is very knowledgeable about all different kinds of mediums and is a talented teacher. I feel that I have learned a lot in my short time here. Although I was a bit apprehensive to the teaching style at first, overtime, I can really see an improvement in my work as an growing artist. During my time here, I learned a lot that improved my painting and drawing techniques. I can feel that my hand has become steadier and my attention to detail is a bit more precise. This studio is a great place to learn technical skills as an artist, and if you are looking for a place to learn character design, landscape painting, and even digital design, I would recommend checking this place out.

I wanted to go teach both of my Children Art. My daughter has took Art classes before. And she does…read morepainting now with oil. When we signed up they put her in first level of Art. I thought that's ok. As long as she will learn. FIRST ALAM, they require a whole month deposit for both children. That should have been a flag for me. I'm not renting an apartment. There is nothing called I pay two months, and telling me one of the months are a deposit. Of course they will do anything to take that money. The fine print on their policies is ridiculous. Second Alarm, I had planned a trip called in there always no one to talk to. You have to do any communication through email. Let them know ahead of time that Both children won't be able to attend. They offered me another day for makeup. After two weeks, I had a conflict of schedule due to an emergency. I sent an email requesting help, to have them switch the children to a different day. I get a long email about their policy. And they will NOT do a makeup for them. THEY ENEDED UP TAKING THE MONEY FOR THE CLASS WITHOUT PROVIDING SERVICES. My problem is the kids were going here for 3 month. They learned nothing. THIS PLACE IS ALL ABOUT HOW TO STEAL PARENTS MONEY. They stole the deposit under the umbrella of policies, took they money for the classes I had emailed and said I have emergency, and can't have them make it. Don't recommend this place for parents. If you want you children to learn Art avoid this place. Avoid Avoid Avoid
