Man, I love Sizzler! It's no longer around in NYC, so when I come to PR it's ON!! There's a bunch out here and this time I chose to go to the location in Cupey. With all the relaxing going on I got out late and got there within an hour of closing. In all honesty, I think that that was the beginning of the downfall for me. As a Sizzler enthusiast one should know that there is a wall of the menu right before you order. The selection is always interesting. I love to see PR flavor combined with it's American rooted classics but not much of that this time around. It was either the Steak and the Malibu Chix meal or a Porterhouse steak. Steak, steak, steak! It was advertised as a 16oz and was only $16.99. So that, with a pinch of fries, a double mega bacon cheeseburger TO GO and a free refill of Hi-C fruit punch. I also did not forget to add the buffet to my meal. Such memories! I was given 2 plates by the server for the buffet and a soup bowl, silverware and an ice cream dish by the tender when ordering. I ran straight to the buffet. But what an underwhelming buffet it was. The criollo section just had white rice, beans, dry pieces of bone in chicken and sad pieces of maduros. The Mexican section had dry beef of shredded chix for all you dry taco lovers. And OMG, were those FAMOUS corn nuggets deflated. So cracked and oozed while others were burned. And I get it. The end of the night. But the buffet was obviously lackluster. My food came maybe 15 min. after ordering. But before that, it was let's clean our section time and sweep around Jason and drag chairs from underneath each table in a caringless and noisy way. My server was not even that attentive. It was like let's get this sidework done as quickly as possible and be out. When my steak and 10 fries got to me I was so happy. The steak was of a decent portion but the plate overall was lacking and sad. Good, plentiful but sad. The burger wasn't 2 snaps up and around the world either. Just 2 patties with cheese with 4 slices of bacon and an oversized bun and 10 fries. I just wasn't the happiest. I may just need to go at a better time but will never lose faith in Sizzler in the meantime. read more
