I had a very unprofessional experience at this salon. While my hair was mid-cut, the owner pulled the stylist away for a long personal conversation and then allowed her to leave for a doctor's appointment without finishing my service. I was still charged full price. The way I was treated felt dismissive and uncomfortable, and I personally perceived the behavior as discriminatory. I did not feel valued or respected as a client. I would not return or recommend this salon. Kimberly Durrance is extremely racist and unprofessional. read more

Don't trust these 5 star reviews. Kim is awful. You can hear that hate and distaste in her voice. I called to make an appointment and made me feel like I was a total inconvenience to her. AND went on and on about how she has her regular customers, and deserves a vacation because she hasnt had one in two years. Thats all well and good, but I wasnt hoping to get an appointment in the next week. Her tone was so abrasive and rude. Decided to take my business elsewhere just based off a phone conversation. Kim is the absolute worse and disgusts me she actually has returning clients who find her a halfway decent human. No thanks! read more

I just moved to Nashville 6 mths ago, finding a new stylist is scary!!!! I initially went to this high end salon and they ruined my hair, I came home crying. I ran across this salon 6 DEGREES which is super convenient right down by my condo and, omg I love Kim!! She had worked wonders with my color and style. I messaged the salon Friday... quick response back and, I asked if I could come in on a Saturday. Kim immediately responded and, I understood her schedule was busy as she is super talented and, she worked me in on a Saturday!! As soon as I walked into the salon I felt very welcome. Kim quickly introduced herself and she has a very friendly attitude. She made me feel very comfortable right of the get go!! ( her staff as well made me feel welcome as well) You ladies know when you meet a stylist for the first time you are weary about that stylist and especially when they are snobs. I definitely recommend this salon!! Kim is awesome and so is her staff!!! I'm so happy I found my new stylist and salon!!! read more

First off, they have an online appointment system that is super easy to use, so that's a plus. The location is easy to get in and out of and there is plenty of parking. No need to park on the street. My personal experience - I made an appointment and was seated for a cut within a couple minutes. I am a pretty simple haircut but the service from Megan was second to none. She's extremely knowledgable and you can really tell that she is very passionate about her job and loves what she does. I was more than happy with the job she did and her personality, all while she displayed the highest level of professionalism. Based on what I saw from the other two clients that were being taken care of during my visit, they seemed to be pleased with both the service and the other hairdresser that was there. I will be back here for my next haircut! read more

Kim quickly accepted my appointment. I was excited to have her do my hair because she had good reviews. But then she texted and asked me to come early. I thought that was weird, but complied. I had another appointment, so I cancelled that to accommodate her schedule. Then she texted a few hours before the appointment and said she needed to reschedule altogether. I was hoping to have my hair done before I left for vacation. Now I don't have my other appointment or my hair done before my trip. Terrible customer service. No apologies. No attempt to accommodate me after I went out of my way for her. This mama is NOT happy! :( read more

Be prepared to spend a lot of money if your going to this salon. The owner Kim did my hair, she is extremely pushy. All that came out of her mouth was products and services that she believes you needs to get. She hard sales everything, she wont stop talking your ear off unless you spend more money. If you go in with a groupon she will treat you like a second class citizen. I don't know why she offers discounts if shes so money hungry. I told her I was unhappy with my hair color, and she said "Your hair color will lighten after a few washes!" I wont be going back!! read more

I was a little nervous coming here after my husband bought a Groupon and I read some of the mixed reviews. But, I have to say I was so pleasantly surprised by my whole experience at Six Degrees. I LOVED Kim. After a few minutes of getting to know her, I just think she is an awesome person and besides that, this woman knows hair. Even after a quick rough cut to get my length out of the way, I could tell she knew exactly what I wanted. She is the first person in Nashville that knew how to style my hair exactly the way it should be. We talked about color possibly in the future (which she made me feel even more comfortable that she preferred my natural hair color and she wasn't the one bringing up the service) and I knew from her suggestions she understood the concept of color and what to do with naturally darker hair. I have been to a few upscale salons in the Nashville area since moving here a few years ago and I hadn't found my go to salon until now. Kim is incredibly talented and was wonderful to work with. I booked my next appointment right then and there. This is the first time I left a salon feeling like I got the perfect cut. read more

I came her for the first time today and saw Kim. She did an amazing job. She wasn't afraid to tell me what colors would and would not look great on me with my colored treated hair underneath and my skin tone and eye color. She really took the time to look at my skin tone and eye color to factor in if something would be flattering on me or not. She worked with me to find a perfect color which I'm in love with and the haircut looks amazing. The price was amazing and she really took the time tO educate me how to care for it in the future and what products to use and which ones to not use. I would highly recommend going to see Kim. read more

Kim fixed my hair after damage from a previous salon. She got me to the color I wanted! She is really really fast which was nice! My full highlight didn't break the bank. This place was very down to earth and laid back. I did not feel that I had to be wealthy and snobby to feel at home here like some salons. read more

I bought a groupon and came here to have Megan cut my hair and she was great! Super friendly, cute little salon and I liked my cut. I'll definitely be back! read more

Very happy with the work that Kim did on my hair! She really worked with me to get what I wanted. Thank you!

Kim is amazing! I've been going here for over a year now and I've never seen someone so talented! Definitely the best place I've found in Nashville! read more

I bought a Groupon with Kim and she was extremely rude and pushy. She was running way behind on her appointments and didn't bother to call me or let me know. She was also very short with me during the actual appointment and kind of snapped at me when I asked if she'd be able to layer my cut for me. The whole thing felt very rushed and that made me quite uncomfortable. The cut looked okay in the end, but I would not recommend this to any of my friends. read more

I am an out-of-towner, and I was in desperate need of a pick-me-up! I saw that Six Degrees was only a few steps away from my hotel, and so I called up Megan. Not only did she get me in for a same-day appointment (AMAZING), but the haircut and overall experience were so very wonderful. Megan is so friendly, down-to-earth, and understands that not every human is able to spend an hour on their hair in the morning. She put in some low-maintenance highlights, did a very nice cut, and sent me off with a bit of curl and some tips on how to spruce up my hairdo. I don't think I've ever felt more upbeat walking out of a hair salon! read more

I've had good experiences here before, but unfortunately the hair dresser I had today, Kim, did exactly what I asked her not to. She took off a lot of length in the front of my hair because she said it looked better, but it was not what I wanted. She also spent about half the time pushing products and deals on me. It was an uncomfortable experience. read more

Kim was so nice! I purchased a Groupon last year and I totally forgot that I used it there. So I bought another one this year and she was so understanding about honoring it. You can only use one Groupon for first time users and Kim was so great about letting me use mine this time around. Love my new hair cut and her kindness! I'll be coming back!!! read more

Being new to the area, I was in need of a new stylist. I ran into a friend who had just gotten her hair cut and colored (by Megan) and it was GORGEOUS! A few days later, I called to book my appointment! With that said, my initial experience almost turned me away. Kim was the person who answered the phone. When I was asking for Megan's availability for a specific date, she was very brash and interrupted me to ask what service I needed. I had full intentions of explaining what I needed done, but I was cut off. Then, when trying to give my email phonetically, knowing it's hard to make out over the phone, she interrupted again! She couldn't understand the letter I was saying, ridiculing my pronunciation of a "c" sounded like a "d", only because she wouldn't let me finish! The remaining phone call made me feel as if I was a nuisance while setting up an appointment that I was very excited to make! If it weren't for my friend reassuring me Megan is great, I was going to cancel my appointment due to my initial experience. For what it's worth, I'm not one to harp on pettiness, as well as understand some people may just be having a bad day, nor one to typically leave reviews, but Megan deserves the praise while the other piece could use some improvement :) read more

I purchased a Groupon deal, which I learned could only be scheduled with Kim. I learned from the receptionist that Kim was the owner, so I thought I was in good hands. I received an email confirmation of the date and time of my appointment and arranged for a sitter to watch my child. I showed up to my appointment and was told by Kim I couldn't be seen because she was running behind. I said it would have been professional to have received a phone call to cancel my appointment, but Kim told me she was too busy to make the call. I told Kim I wanted a refund, which she quickly responded, "Yes, Groupon gives refunds." When I contacted Groupon, I was told refunds are not given. I went back to the salon to talk to Kim she offered to reschedule my appointment and give me an additional free haircut for another time. I originally agreed, but after returning home, I decided I don't want to run the risk of encountering the same situation. I got the feeling if you go in with a Groupon deal, you are treated like a second class citizen. read more
