I LOVE my new club style semi-custom dining chairs...in a rich shade of Paprika chenille/velour. And they're on wheels to boot! Totally smart and groovy, easy to slip into, ease into or away from a dining table. I wouldn't shop here if they were having a 90% off sale and the salesperson we dealt with bent down and kissed my ass. Earlier today, my wife and I stopped by because we are in need of several pieces of furniture. We are remodeling our home, and the furniture will be a major expense. A few minutes after we arrived, a salesperson approached us and asked if he could help us find anything in particular. Mind you, this was after we had already seen quite a lot of the pieces on display in the store and weren't exactly blown away. We had been furniture shopping in L.A. yesterday, and only visited Italian, custom stores that are decidedly upscale. But today, my wife wanted to see if there was anything in the Valley worth considering. We visited this store, and when I answered the salesman's question, and asked if they carried any type of loveseat or couch that had reclining sections, he not only said "No," but he added that if we were looking for something cheap, they don't have anything like that because their clientele is "bougie," and he could order something for us, but we had to be willing to spend $10,000 to get it. He then asked if we were willing to spend that kind of money, suggesting that we couldn't do so. Uh huh. I guess he felt like he had to warn us, because, apparently, he didn't think we were "bougie" enough to afford that. The truth is, we could easily buy anything in that store without blinking, but those comments turned us off and convinced us to never do business with them. He also added that cheap furniture that reclines uses small motors that burn out, but that's what happens when you buy something cheap. On our way out, we passed two powered reclining chairs near the front door, both of which must have small motors, but that didn't stop this store from selling them. I guess there's "bougie" and then there's "bougie." Unless you can pull out enough cash to impress these people, or show them your credit score, don't bother shopping here. Maybe you won't be insulted, but we were, and that's why I decided to leave this review. When spending a lot of money on quality items for your home, you might consider doing business with a company that actually respects you as a customer. UPDATE: I had to come back to add to this to my review, because after I wrote it, I checked the other 1-star reviews for this company, and I noticed something. Stephanie, whoever that is, seems to make lame excuses for a salesperson who sounds an awful lot like the guy who insulted us. He makes remarks about Hyundais versus Bentleys because he's a car aficionado? No, he does it because he's a jerk who likes to point out to customers that there are rich people and poor people, and if you don't seem to like what he has to say, you're one of the less fortunate folks. If you're reading this, Stephanie, don't feel compelled to make the same kind of excuse for your employee's bad attitude and inability to be respectful of prospective customers. I've already seen it as a response to other terrible reviews, and it's getting old. I have been buying furniture from Sitting Pretty since 2018, and every single thing I have bought has been high quality and a perfect fit for my home. From bar stools to outdoor lounge seating, to outdoor bar stools, to a new dining room table and chairs, and most recently, an outdoor dining table and chairs... all great stuff made in the US or Canada (not in China!)... everything has been really top-notch and exactly what I wanted.
