Let's get this straight: Sitrongress is all about value - a meal not only under 70 NOKs, but also with a Thai flair. But recently they bumped the price up a notch, so I have to bump the value down a notch.
The quality seems to have gone down too. While the same chefs are still happily chattering in Thai to each other over the hot wok, the food has significantly becoming more Norwegian and is now an over-bambooed, over-tomatoed, over-mushroomed, over-coconuted, under-spiced shell of its former self. Two years ago, their Tom Yam Pla (spicy sour fish soup) was a funny Tom Yam Pla with salmon and cod. Nowadays it's like a Bergensuppe with coconuts and lemongrass twist. The sharpness that is Thai is gone.
Where does all that leave it now? An average Thai joint, borderline cheaper than commercial restaurants. read more
