I am fully satisfied with both the training and the Trainer. The trainer was here for as long as 2 hours and didn't look at his watch either. Every soft hearted person her accusing the collar of being abuse is out of their mind and naive. You know the trainers that board your dog for two weeks and the come back different? Well, they don't want you to see what they do, including a training collar and then require more training if the dog is extremely stubborn. My wife was worried about the collar. The first thing the trainer did when he pulled out the collar - I said, OK my wife is worried that this will scare and damage the dog. I said, put the thing on high and shock me. He did. it is the same thing I do to myself with the Power Dot, an amazing TENS unit to help sore muscles. My wife also uses it. I then had him do it to her. She understood that lightning bolts are not coming out of it. The problem is that dogs don't speak english and live on instinct. They are like young children that unless you can ncommunicate a negative response to their behavior and give them the proper direction, they grow up to be animals. For all the Caesar Milan fans out there ( of which I am one )- He does not teach dogs obedience. He is a 'dog psychologist who us flooding'. This is now frowned upon in the psychiatric community as abusive. Yet it is the only way to get someone to master their fears. After 6 weeks, the effort of my dog and our learning the basic commands which are simplified, is absolutely amazing. I wish I had learned this method on my GSD. He was a good natured Dog but his negative reactivity was a problem sometimes. My Bluetick Coonhound, my second one, is a rescue. No one wanted her because of her high energy and seeming food aggression due to living starved for several months. All is well and unless you speak DOG and they fear and respect and love you enough to listen to you when they begin to do what they want to do, you need training. It passed my WIFE test. That is enough said. She is an animal lover to the extreme in the sense she couldnt bear to hurt an animal. One thing, there are like 6 trainers. WOW We are blown away. This is THE BEST and Easiest way to train any dog. We had fantastic results from the very first lesson. I cannot believe that I didn't know about this for all these years. The Sit Means Sit Dog collar is bar none the most effective way to train your dog. Now before you say that you think this is a shock collar, it is absolutely not. I have personally felt all settings of the collar on my hand, and it is a vibrating sensation only. It is an attention getting device. We would never, ever, allow our dogs to wear a shock collar. If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself. I'm the kind of person that cannot talk about the movie Bambi without getting choked up. Thus I could never use anything on any animal that would hurt them. Our Lab was a service dog in training, for diabetic alert. She had the medical alert part down pat. However, impulse control issues have plagued the training process. She would occasionally chase after a bird, or get overly excited and jump on a person she was meeting for the first time. Obviously we could not have her do these things, especially as a service dog. We were already contemplating that we might end up having to flunk her as a service dog. The people that work here seem very nice and I really think their training can work. We had them over to our house (they do free consultations). They did demonstrations with their dogs of them doing all sorts of tricks and behaving in ways that my dog could only dream about. However, they also use electric collars to do this training. They are adamant that it's not "shock" but I had it on my hand at the lowest level and it was a zip of a current. No matter what word you want to use, an electric collar is a shock collar. If you read most dog training books from professionals they all stress the importance of positive reinforcement. I really got a bad feeling about anything that was zapping my dog into compliance. I ended up selecting another local dog trainer who used a more traditional, positive approach to training. My dogs are enjoying training and so am I. read more

It's been about two months since my dog Zoe and I had Tom from "SMS" come out to the house. He did an awesome home demo. and spent a lot of time with us,to make sure we got the best results from the program. Zoe is an English Bull Terrier and though she is so sweet she is also so stubborn! I started the training so that she would not bolt from the house or the yard if she saw a person or another animal. She also had some lease issues ( she hates to go for walks) within the two months that we've been working on her training she has mastered everything I want her to know. At this point she's so good I don't even need the lease to walk her. She stays right with me and listens to every command. I only gave the company a star because I had to give them something in order to leave a review. This would be a great program if you want your dog to do everything upon being zapped. We were looking to curb aggression in our high anxiety dog. We were told the collar would be used to help the dog listen to commands from the owner, not to be used when the dog was aggressive. Yet during the last lesson when our dog was showing aggression the collar was used by the trainer on her to a high enough level that it dropped her to the ground. Since then she has not wanted anything to do with the collar. Lessons were expensive for the little bit of time the trainer actually worked with the dog. There was also a 2 month gap between the first and second lesson so it was like starting all over. We wanted to sit down with the owner and talk about the situation but he would only grant a phone call. He didn't seem overly concerned about the poor service we were given. I am hesitant to say bad things about someone's business, being a business owner myself. We have two dogs, a Boston and a Yorkie. They got along great until the Boston got spayed. When she came home from the vet, the Yorkie attacked her. She attacks her every time she gets a chance. We called Sit Means Sit and Bailey came to our home to evaluate Zoey. She said not a problem, she can work with her, and she won't be aggressive after her training. She said she could take Zoey to her home to work with her for two weeks. We made all the arrangements, I paid them $3800 for two weeks of training and $50 for each trip they made to my home. I might as well have given it to the dogs to eat!!!!!! Bailey assured me she would stay in contact with me during the two week period. She took my 11 pound Yorkie with her. When she brought Zoey home, she immediately went for Lucy's throat. Bailey said she had no problem at all with her dogs. Come to find out they are large dogs. pit bulls. Bailey did not contact me one time, I called her several times, only talked to her twice, the other times, I left messages that never got returned. When Bailey brought Zoey home, she weighed 6.5 pounds. Zoey has been boarded numerous times, and never loses weight. I sent food, her favorite blanket, an expensive muzzle, and a leash with her. When she returned her, I got none of that back. Bailey did her follow up appointment. She was supposed to bring Zoey's stuff with her-at both followup appointments. On the second followup, she brought her leash. She said that she forgot the muzzle, but that she ordered one from Amazon on her way here, and had it delivered to our home. I called the owner to register my dissatisfaction with the training. He didn't seem at all interested in what I had to say. I explained that Zoey's items were not returned to us. He was going to check on that. Needless to say, we didn't receive a muzzle until a week after I called the owner. When the muzzle arrived, it was a cheap plastic muzzle, not anything like we had sent her. That showed me that Bailey is a liar. She couldn't find her blanket at all. On her final followup, she said sometimes dogs just don't like other dogs. Her final time at our home, she brought her little girl. I would say about two years old. Bailey spent more time trying to control her daughter than she did working with us and the dogs. I talked with the owner several times, and he said that Bailey told him the Zoey was doing very good at her home and was ready to come home to us. I don't know how she measured that, of course she would not be aggressive to two big pit bulls. Bailey suggested that we turn the collar up, which I tried. It is very inhumane. Bailey said it would have to be set on the highest number. When you beeped her with it, she jerked and became more aggressive. I could have bought a collar at the pet store and seen that was not the way to train her to not be aggressive. I am so disappointed in this program. I would not recommend this company to anyone. It was totally overpriced (they would not give any refund), and a waster of our time and money. read more

I highly recommend you find a different dog training company. We used these people for our dogs--the trainings lasted 20 minutes and it's mostly just telling you to shock your dogs (something you could have figured out on your own if you were going to use a collar like this). It's super expensive, and caused an awful skin irritation on our dog's neck after being on her about 24 hours (we typically take it off at night, but left it on last night to work on her barking in her kennel over night). When I asked our trainer about it, she said it's something they see a bit and they have a sensitive skin adapter if we change our minds. However, no mention of this common occurrence was made as warning at the beginning of the training. We bought 3 lessons and only used 2 before this happened and they now refuse to give us a refund. A couple hundred dollars at he vet later, we've got an antibiotic, steroid, and powder for our dog's skin issues caused by this company's method.
