In December of 2014 I was on the hunt for a reliable dog walker that both my dogs and myself felt comfortable with. After one bad experience, I landed on Lucky Dog and they've been taking care of my dogs ever since. Lisa and Farley have been great and very reliable. They send my photos & updates while I am at work, which gives me a great deal of peace of mind. My black Lab recently went through a serious health issue and I reached out to Lisa for a vet recommendation. I had already visited two vets and was given to different diagnosis. Lisa came thru yet again with a stellar vet recommendation and my dog is on the mend and doing well. Our dogs are the most important part of our lives and we wouldn't trust them with anyone other than Lisa and Farley.

I called around to several daycares and was shocked at how many still refuse pit bulls...when I asked a neighbor who owns a big pittie girl what they do, they told me about Angie! We figured if she could handle their big dog, she'd be fine with our little (growing) one. they say their dog adores her and I believe it! Angie came over to our home for an interview and we loved her right away. More importantly, so did our girl Beatrice. We went out in the front yard and handed Angie the leash. I'm convinced that my dog behaves better with Angie than with me...go figure. we typically only need a walker a few times a month - but when we do, there's never a schedule problem. She gives me feedback after the walk via text (oh and btw, she will not answer her phone when she's with a dog! love that!) or she can leave a note for you, which ever you prefer. like a lot of people, we spend a lot of time & money and give a lot of love to our dog - she is our child - and we won't settle for anything less than the best. We are confident and relaxed knowing that Angie is there for our girl. Lucky Dog is a very professional service, we are so happy and thankful...and now we have a Lucky Dog, too.

My walker in Chicago was amazing especially since our schedule can be erratic. He set the bar high... I called back instantly and apologized told them I had the wrong date and asked if they were still at my apt. They said no and complained about parking and I continued to ask if we could meet another day. After muting me and talking among them-self- clearly angry at me- they snappily told me to email them my availability and they would get back to me. So I said I would do it within the hour and apologized again. I send them my availability and waited ( my header was So Sorry- meet and greet-) I get a email back saying they would come out but this time it would cost me 20 dollars and it would be a quick visit, get keys and paperwork and leave. I emailed back and said the paperwork said nothing about 20 dollar visit and if it had I would pay but since it didn't I didn't think I should pay. I get a email back saying I was being rude and that the girls I talked to on the phone thought the treatment I gave them was uncalled for. The only thing on the phone I did was apologize because I missed the time, I messed up, and I felt bad. So why would I be rude? What really happened is that I was being put down and intimidated into paying a 20 dollar fee because the girls were angry that they couldn't find parking at my apartment . I acknowledged it was my fault and apologized. It was only when I questioned paying 20 dollars for a 2 second visit they decided to throw insults at me. Needless to say after feeling verbally put down and bullied about something I so clearly apologized for I told them I would go with a different company and that I no longer felt comfortable letting them in my home when I wasn't there. I would not recommend them to anyone. I guess as long as everything stays perfect they will stay nice- but we don't live in a perfect world do we..

We have asked them about behavior, training, socialization, boarding, recovery, schedules - you name it. They've supported him through puppyhood, adolescence, two knee surgeries and recovery, and now adulthood, always adjusting his walkers, sitters, dog pairings and activities based on what's best for him at that stage. They were especially incredible during his surgeries and recovery, helping us think through safe care options, checking in on him, and always prioritizing what was best for Wiley rather than just what services they could provide. They have made introductions, recommended trainers and other trusted professionals, and even offered to reinforce whatever training routines we were working on so that everyone in our dog's life could be consistent. Always punctual, friendly, and leaves good notes/pictures in the app. Recently, we got married and asked R+D if they had somebody who could come to the wedding and take lead on watching our dogs during the weekend of events. It was really special having our best friends at the wedding, and Sonia made sure that we did not have to worry about them at all so we could just enjoy the weekend. It's not easy to wrangle 170 pounds combined especially when there's a lot of human food around on tables, dropped morsels on the ground, kids running around, and a ton of special people the dogs get excited to see; but Sonia's calm, cool, collected nature transferred to the pups and they were relaxed and well taken care of and had a great time. Thanks so much!
