Delightful. We needed outdoor seating for our dog as we traveled back home and chose this place for that, but it is much more There are three sets of tables under a deep, shady overhang. There are twinkle lights that are hung up all around, and I'm sure it will be great at night. There are also several planters. Inside however the place gets really interesting. It is a large, cool, damn place. It is split down the middle curtains, and I personally thought the curtains were intriguing rather than odd. The front counter has a beautiful day out, and there is a wide selection of drinks. They also have a variety of drinks made with pure cane sugar that are available bottled or canned. I ordered a ham sandwich, and when they were 100 regular ham they gave me the more expensive Canadian ham for extra cost. I am finding the place to be simply delightful, and I like it a great deal. Finally, if you play Ingress, this place has up to five portals in range. It is a great spot to sip a nice drink and Hack away at portals for a while. We stopped if for quick sandwich while driving through on the freeway. The restaurant is only a mile or so from the freeway, although the hills and one way streets do not make it simple to get there and back on the freeway. The place is large, with widely-spaced tables, and although an old building, is kept clean. There is a good sandwich selection, and one order of fries will feed two. The sandwich was also very filling. The grilled chicken with bacon on ciabatta bread was excellent. The service was quick and friendly. Good place! read more

The perfect place to bring your computer and do some work during an ice day! The tuna melt with bacon and avocado added was served on fresh bread. The sandwich was delicious and I would order it again. The potato salad tasted just like my grandmother used to make, mayonnaise-based and delicious. Ordered an item to go and it took awhile to get that item, which is why they didn't earn a five star for lunch. The internet worked for awhile and then stopped. read more

I'll admit that we stopped in Pendleton on our way home from Boise to Seattle since it's halfway and we were hungry, but I had planned on stopping at another place, lucky for us it was Easter and they were closed so we drove around the corner and found Sister's Cafe. SOOOO good, I think everything here is made in house, like EVERYTHING and you can taste it. Will definitely stop here again on our way through. Fantastic eatery. Food is good, experience of eating there not so much. The place recently moved and was remodeled so heads up that the current Yelp address is wrong. I never went to the old location, but the new remodel is very nice and modern, wood and brick abound. Only thing is they forgot to install any real lighting. This may be cool and moody at night but a really weird experience for breakfast/lunch. C'mon, you are in Pendelton, not at the W hotel! There is no table service which is also a drag. So we waited in line, no menu written on the boards and no menus easily accessible unless you are literally at the counter. When we did get a menu we couldn't read it because it was so dark inside. Also, this place is really not good for small children. We were lucky to get the only highchair for our toddler but we saw several other families SOL. We waited for our food and the servers ran around yelling out orders because they couldn't see the order numbers they gave us to put on our table. Why? Because, HELLO, there are no lights on! There was no one working the bar during lunch rush which means that getting water and refills was a real issue. They should offer a self serve water station since there is no table service. Could be a cool place if they get the kinks worked out, better accommodate families, and turn on some freakin lights! read more

Trying this place passing through Pendleton. We've been lucky on this trip, finding locals-frequented spots with delicious food. I'm afraid the streak has ended. A previous Yelper concluded that this was a place that wanted to be in Portland. Brick walls, dim lighting, trendy metal sculpted chairs and table decor. Cafe bistro music. And it's cold, people are bundled up in here. If the star rating was solely for attitude of counter help (you order at the counter) there would be a zero-star. She couldn't have cared less that we were wanting to eat, we had to find the menus ourselves as the only visible menu is the drinks and alcohol menu on the wall. We also noticed the counter help warmed up considerably to guests she knew, most likely repeat locals. We were left to find our own seat and figure out getting our own water. The plusses came when the food arrived: they offer gluten free bread and my husband's turkey panini was very good. I ordered the spinach dip, average. Not spectacular, not the worst I'm ever had. It was piping hot, which is a plus. So, overall, a two star. Small portions, still hungry after I've eaten. Will we return? Nope. And one more thing, I noticed that most of the negative reviews are on the not recommended page. All of those reviews say exactly what mine says. No friendliness, snotty counter help and tiny portions. read more

I don't give five stars very often, but this little deli was a winner! We shared the turkey club sandwich and for $8.95 it came with potato salad and a pickle. Everything was fresh and homemade from the croissant it was served on to the fresh roasted turkey inside. The turkey was exceptional just like grandma's roasted turkey. Wish I could give this place a better review. They are trying to do too much, they need to shorten the menu and serve only the best. My husband wanted a plain cheese burger but that was not possible. They had ten different odd choices and could not leave the extras off. Their pizza oven was down. So my husband had the chicken pasta, it was just food. I had the steak salad. I ordered the steak medium, it was cooked well. They also included feta cheese when I asked for parmesan. The highlight was the IPA. My recommendation, do simple foods well. read more

Stopped in Pendleton for lunch and were so happy with our choice. The atmosphere was welcoming, the menu varied and beverage choices plentiful. As we were continuing on after our meal. Sisters Rosemary and Diana have done an outstanding job of taking a historic downtown building an crafting it into an inviting, friendly eatery. A+ in menu selection - for an intimate little cafe, they have something for everyone. A in quality of their food. My wife and I shared a Turkey Bacon Wrap and it was absolutely perfect. Premium turkey, luscious bacon flavorfull and crisp, fresh lettuce and amazing cheeses - all in a giant wrap that was more than enough to share. Left just enough room for a couple of fresh-baked cookies on our way out the door. Another A because the restrooms were clean and well stocked. This is an important one because you are probably headed north or south on I-84 so this may be your last stop for awhile. read more

Love love love the grilled cheese and rib sandwich! Although they do not have a full table-service for lunch, the staff there are always friendly and the food is always good. You pick up the menu at the front door, order at the register and the food is then brought to your table. I had a particularly good piece of cheesecake there... this is also a nice place to have lunch by yourself, as they have seating across the front of the restaurant which looks to the outside when you are seated. Service and food quality at other restaurants in town is not as consistent as what you will get at Sisters. This is an important feature for people like me who do not cook every meal at home. read more
