t is located just across Bayou Texar from downtown Pensacola, basically right over the bridge, and feels like a neighborhood find. During the holidays, this place fully leans into being a Christmas pub and the decorations really do say it all. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. I had an old fashioned and my wife had a gin and tonic. Both were excellent. For food, you order directly at the bar and the food comes out from the on-site food truck or mobile kitchen setup, which works surprisingly well. Everything was well run and efficient. Service was good, the food was solid, and the overall experience felt thoughtful and intentional. This is one of only a couple true British-style pubs in the Pensacola area and it is absolutely a must experience spot when you are in town. read more

I came to sir Richards to eat because of a recommendation. It's a dark bar with a great outdoor seating area. It's noisy. It's fun and it's comfortable. The food is made on a fish and chips food truck outside and the menu is a pretty good menu. You can get a burger or a fried or blackened chicken sandwich. It's the normal fish and chips fried pickles, yada yada yada. This seems like the right kind of place to bring your friends to celebrate or to just hang out. We really enjoyed our fish and chips and the atomic Reuben and the sauce for the onion rings is super delicious. It's not fancy here but it sure is fun and it sure is good. read more

Ambiance - I'm just not impressed. My partner likened the bar to a place husbands go to escape their wives. Service - Clara was attentive and checked on us several times. Food - the watermelon Sugar Margarita was uninspiring. The watermelon tastes was just not there. You could get a buzz on the drink but there would not be fun. We are at Sir Richards a lot during Kickball season but this visit was not their best. Normally, they pay attention to kickball season, but this year did not. We arrived and they had one female bartender, who was way over her head, to handle a moderate crowd. She was too inexperienced to manage the patrons. Hubby tried for almost 30 minutes, to refill three beverages (it started with only one drink, and grew over time). She served two guys twice while hubby was standing there trying to get served. What can be said? They ruined Sir Richard's. Way too many TVs. Feels like a bug zapper. The juke box doesn't work, don't waste your money. They play awful pop punk loud as hell. Creepy older bartender dude hit on my friend thinking he was gay... very uncomfortable. And not just like normal flirting, we are talking some pretty seriously disturbing innuendos. When will Pensacola "entrepreneurs" ever learn that we like the grimy, "Old Pensacola" feel of these classic landmarks? I don't need to see a TV in my face 24/7. They did a great job on the remodel and the deck outside...but PLEASE put a porta let or build a bathroom outside for those that feel the need to inconvenience bar patrons by bringing their SMALL CHILDREN inside! I'm torn on this place of giving 3 or 4 stars. Here's the deal, the place is recently refurbished and the fish and chips are quite good. Very nice batter for the fish and the chips are excellent. Served in rolled paper (authentic). Staff is friendly. Place is super clean and updated. So, what's wrong? It doesn't seem the place has been completely received by the locals. We came to eat lunch on a Friday and we were one of just 3 parties eating there. I've driven by multiple times and never really see the place packed. I hope the place does ok....seems like they have a good business model and will do ok, but business is slow. Limited menu of just a few lunch items. Maybe this is more of a weekend place to have a beer and fish/chips. Still worth it and we are glad we went. read more
