My mojito was delicious and we were able to find some comfortable seating upstairs. Once it became later, the seating area became too crowded and loud for my taste. He didn't have any in the menu, but suggested his take on a classic: a smoked pumpkin old fashioned. I thought that the smoke was just shenanigans, but in this case it added some peat to the cocktail. I loved it. It was nice to relax a bit with a nice view and a great cocktail in hand. My parents pretty much live under a rock so they asked some strange and confusing questions. The food arrived and was certainly visually pleasing. Unfortunately, it became apparent very quickly that BF and I had both been given regular croques. GF is very anti-confrontation and elected to just pull the ham off of hers which also takes off most of the cheese, leaving her with just bread. I felt inclined to receive and pay for what I actually ordered so I brought the mistake to the attention of the waiter. The waiter proceeded to argue with me about what I ordered. Sir, I am a vegetarian and would never order a regular croque monsieur. Everyone at the table agreed that I distinctly said "VEGGIE" croque monsieur. He ultimately brought me back the correct one as we all speculated that it was probably acquainted with the floor or pubic hairs.
