I love that it's a biker bar definitely filled with some characters a few beautiful people a lot of scary people they pretty much all of them were friendly people. When in Belgium, antwerpen is my second home and I love all of the different wonderful places that my friends take me: pomme gritted, the rooden hoot and so many other wonderful and crazy spots, but by far my favorite is the red light district! I just love windowshopping! A word of caution to the guys be careful of the Duval beer and be wary of the window dressings in the red light district as most of them are dudes...

Antwerp is not known for skyscrapers after all. The bar is very spacious and cleanly decorated. Pretty classy in my opinion. I talked a bit with the bartender and told him that I was looking for a boozy cocktail that would match a bulleit rye bottle that I noticed in the bar. He didn't have any in the menu, but suggested his take on a classic: a smoked pumpkin old fashioned. I thought that the smoke was just shenanigans, but in this case it added some peat to the cocktail. I loved it. It was nice to relax a bit with a nice view and a great cocktail in hand. Too bad I could not stay long, as I had dinner scheduled with some friends in another restaurant. I can see myself spending a quality evening there. Oh, well, next time I guess.

Especielly when looking at what people was getting for that money (not very much). With the very expensive menue with very little flexibility and seemingly low value for money, I decided to only have a drink and some finger foods. On the wine list they do not have any options if you want wine by the glass only 1 white, red and rose house wine is available, which I find is really limited - especielly when you call yourself a lounge bar. Their finger food is store bought tortilla chips (bad quality) with a "Chef's famous home made salsa" which is a store bought salsa that they've added chopped tomatoes, corn and onions. I also had their large chips with sea salt which were large squares of potato chips that were covered in sea salt, very salty. In addition they were served on a piece of wood that had been chemically treated (toxic!!). I would say - come here if you want coctails and a view - for that it's great!

After some deliberation, I have decided to upgrade this place to four stars from my initial…read moreinclination of three because I love their vegetarian options. This place is tucked away in a corner between two of the main cobblestone streets. I brought my family here for brunch during our stay in Antwerp. GF and I were strongly considering their vegan tapas tower but in the interest of saving room for other snax throughout the day, decided against it and instead, ordered their veggie croque monsieur which I was also excited about seeing on the menu. Both of my parents ordered a chicken salad bagel or something in that neighborhood. We probably irritated the fuck out of the wait staff because we needed to ask for more time on more than one occasion. My parents pretty much live under a rock so they asked some strange and confusing questions. The food arrived and was certainly visually pleasing. Unfortunately, it became apparent very quickly that BF and I had both been given regular croques. GF is very anti-confrontation and elected to just pull the ham off of hers which also takes off most of the cheese, leaving her with just bread. I felt inclined to receive and pay for what I actually ordered so I brought the mistake to the attention of the waiter. The waiter proceeded to argue with me about what I ordered. Sir, I am a vegetarian and would never order a regular croque monsieur. Everyone at the table agreed that I distinctly said "VEGGIE" croque monsieur. He ultimately brought me back the correct one as we all speculated that it was probably acquainted with the floor or pubic hairs. I will admit that the sandwich was pretty good as was the accompanying salad. My parents loved their bagel. The food was enjoyable but I would have appreciated a more friendly approach by the waiter to the mistake.
