Everything here begins in the kitchen. We bake our own sourdough bread every morning and build our menu around it — from halloumi and honey on sourdough to Turkish eggs, pancakes with citrus butter, and other seasonal plates that change with what’s fresh. Our ingredients are local, thoughtful, and never rushed.
Coffee has always been at the heart of what we do. Every espresso, flat white, or filter is brewed with specialty beans sourced from independent European roasters. You can also take home a bag of our house-roasted coffee or a fresh loaf of sourdough.
Sip and Wonder isn’t just a café — it’s a pause in the day. A place for locals to start their morning, travellers to rest after the market, and families to share brunch in a space that feels calm and genuine.

I started Sip and Wonder to create something simple: a café in Alicante where good coffee, real food, and calm could exist together. We’re tucked just behind the Central Market, open 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (closed Wednesdays), serving all-day brunch, fresh sourdough, and specialty coffee roasted with care.
Before the name or space came the bread. I learned to bake sourdough long before we opened — drawn to the patience and craft it demanded. When we found our location, it felt right: light-filled, honest, and close to the energy of the market.
Every plate, loaf, and cup at Sip and Wonder reflects that same approach — thoughtful, seasonal, and made with care. Over time, we’ve grown into a small community of locals, travellers, and friends who return for the same reason we started: good coffee, real connection, and a place that feels a little like home.

I’m Virgilio, founder of Sip and Wonder. I started this café to bring together everything I love — specialty coffee, fresh sourdough, and food made with intention. We’re just behind Alicante’s Central Market, open 9:30–3:30 (closed Wednesdays), serving all-day brunch and coffee roasted with care. What began as a passion for slow, simple craft has grown into a place where locals and travellers connect over good food, great coffee, and calm conversation.
