Another Starbucks in another town. For me it's the Mc D of the western coffee world but focussed on…read moremuch better, quality raw materials and allegedly a fair trade deal to farmers/growers. I'm sure economists could introduce a variation of the fascinating (accurate) Big Mac Index to give a Starbucks equivalent. It would be helpful to know if Starbucks pay proper living wages and taxes in the countries it operates in and as well as that to know if they pay fair tax - current British and Irish politicians turn a blind eye to mega corporate greed and tax evasion so is there something in it for them? Tax evasion is legal but to me fair play is more important - ethically, decently, pay proper wages and appropriate tax and if they don't then politicians can, as we say here, grow a set, and legislate for it. If a fair wage and fair tax isn't of much interest to you then wait until it comes to your turn but meantime what's usually the case, if you want reliable quality coffee, it's almost certain they'll deliver this at least usually via low paid workers. If you want reliable, usually clean rest room facilities, chances are you'll get them but my experience is not always, and you may have to negotiate a locked door key pad to get into their restrooms. With WiFi there's a good (but I find more and more) uncertain chance of it performing well and a real risk it won't at all. It has some published well-crafted arguments on its green credentials, but at least there's unanswered questions around environmental issues, chief amongst these is can they stem the tide of waste that they have helped generate? I close here with a whole new Starbucks experience for me. I bang on about it now as it says and proves so much about mega corporate greed right down to a micro level. Minimum wage staff had to charge me 5 pence for a plastic Starbucks cup for iced tap water in a cafe in Portsmouth GB when he was surrounded by ceramic cups. He actually apologised for doing so. I'm in email chat with Starbucks about it and they are evasive on why. They've added 300 points to my account - which has been largely unused since I was fixed with this charge. It had never happened me before nor since and no other coffee chain or independent has even suggested it. Just remember we pays our money and makes our choice. My loyalty to this brand is gone.

Nicely run Starbucks. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good cold brew coffee made me happy. The…read moreiced tea lemonade infusions were nice, as well. After a week in Spain I was craving my Starbucks. This fit the bill!
