She taught them a really cool paint pouring technique. She was also very accommodating about picking up the items once they were dry. She was great with the girls and has such a fantastic attitude. With the completion of my very first paint party here, I'm totally motivated to do it again. I was…read moreplanning a destination bachelorette party several months ahead for my now sis-in-law, Tess T. Based on the business' description on this site, I contacted JJ who ran the show. She responded to me right away and worked out a custom painting-to-do, inspired by a couple I showed her through email. JJ either texted, emailed, or called me to make sure I had directions and confirm details. I was able to pay for the entire class in advance through their website. As soon as we arrived at her house, we were brought upstairs to her living area which was set up like a classroom with 7 easels, primed canvases, paint palettes, an assortment of about 8 brushes, paper towels, rinsing cups, practice paper, and an agreeable soundtrack. If we needed any additional paints or anything, we just had to ask. She provided paint t-shirts/smocks to some who were unprepared. I was able to comfortably change out of my dressy clothes into an old tee and sweatpants in her bathroom. At the front of the classroom, JJ showed us what to do on her own canvas accompanied by a flatscreen TV showing the painting from start to finish, step-by-step on loop. Her calming voice was just perfect for teaching the class. She would come around to give us help, personalized suggestions, and technique pointers. I learned a lot. Though most of us went off-road with our paintings, it was impressive that we were all inspired by the same subject. Also, though we brought a lot of snacks and spirits, most of us ended up too involved with our paintings. It seems that the best times we could have indulged are when we were waiting a few minutes for our paint to dry. If I lived closer, I would do this again and again with After 5 Art Party with JJ at the helm.

We drove into this cute community and were allowed to park in the garage. We were then escorted upstairs and immediately we felt like it was play time. Super cute set up with the tables set up like we were in a class surrounded by wall art made by JJ. Very cool with lots of inspiration to paint. Everything was all set up, all we had to do was listen to the instructions and have a good time. It was a very chill experience, the instructor wasn't pushy or overbearing at all. She pretty much guided us and let our creativity run wild. I learned so much and I totally want to do this again!
