My husband amd i went in a week ago. We both got tatoos. His doesn't even look like the picture and mine was very important to me because of loosing my dad. They both cane out horrible mine looks like ive had it for years. I wouldn't waist a penny n this place . They are nice people but dont know how to do tattoos. Mine started coming off 2nd day. I took my daughter to get her nose pierced. Three stars because I thought it was an average experience. Matt was ok - not the best in terms of making us feel welcome. He seemed knowledgeable and was clear about taking care of the piercing. Place was clean and all instruments etc seemed to be well cleaned. Overpriced for the spray cleaner- charged $15. $50 for piercing, other places in Havelock charge $40 but did not have piercer there on Mon/Tues. read more

My family and I came in for tattoos we didn't wait too long. Rob did our tattoos however the other man working was very flat, like looked super unemotional. Also a huge family in another room getting tattoos and they're were gross walked around like they owned the place and continued to scream and burp very obnoxiously! Over tattoos were okay. Not any of our favorites but not the worst. Also were told we shouldn't pay with a card because the tattoo artists haven't seen the owner in months so they aren't getting paid. Kinda weird read more

This place isn't easy to spot and it's small but it's so worth it! Before coming in here, I only had one tattoo and the guy I had, Derek, quickly drew up a sketch of what I wanted, sat me down and got to work. Environment was clean, crew was friendly and really funny and easy-going. Would def recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere with an amazing vibe to get an amazing tattoo!! read more

This shop is terrible. My tattoo looked terrible, and healed even worse. It was faded and looked hardly anything like the originally picture I had provided. The lines were terrible, color and shading terrible. I had to get it covered up. I also found the shop to be unprofessional and overpriced for what I had done. They never even checked my ID (illegal), and the artists wife kept coming in commenting how small my tattoo was and was he almost done so they could go home. My coverup was actually cheaper than the originally tattoo and looks 100x better. All in all, I would not recommend but it was a learning experience for me in sticking to my tattoo artist and not getting a tattoo on a whim. read more

I went in to Sinister Ink to get my next tattoo priced. Not only was there a baby, a shirtless man, and a puppy in the shop (which is unsafe, unsanitary, and off-putting to customers), but I was treated with such rudeness that I left without a quote. I later looked at their Facebook page to see their portfolios. The tattoos that come out of sinister ink are garbage. Shaky lines, lines that have clearly been thickened up to hide shakiness, terrible shading, and all around awful artwork. I'm glad that I was treated with such disrespect at the shop because it's better than walking away with a terrible tattoo that I will have for the rest of my life. read more

This was literally the worst experience ever....in any service/retail environment. Made a reservation well in advance. Explained specifically what we wanted. 3 of us. Sisters. Wanted a small tattoo each. He let us know of the house minimum. Sure no problem. Matt said I've got you down for 4pm. We showed up 10 minutes to 4. For our 4 o'clock appointment. That we had a reservation for. No one knows what is even happening. There's "kids" playing with ink. Matt didn't even look at us. He knew we were coming and didn't bother to call because his "phone was dead". Said oh hey you're the sisters right? I'm running 2 hours behind can you come back or if you want. Wait here for a couple hours. I'm shocked at this total unprofessional experience. Please save your money. Don't come to this place. They are awful. I never write reviews and this was so awful. I had to take a minute to let anyone know that might be considering this awful establishment. Please look elsewhere. Anywhere but with Matt at Sinister Ink. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I am on vacation and my friend was interested in getting her belly button pierced. Upon first impression, the shop looked normal, maybe just a little run down. When we walked in, the first male to greet us very pleasant. We then were told to fill out the waiver, and have a seat. We returned the waiver and the owner was rude and did not even bother to check our IDs which is unprofessional and unsafe (we are of age.) Kayla called my friend back to the chair and started the process. She did not show us the jewelry and the entire time, was asking another man working if everything she was doing was correct. Ex: which way the needle goes in, how to clamp it, and how to put in the jewelry. She was unsure and had no clue what she was doing, which made my friend nervous. She did not explain the process at all and just pierced my friend without a warning. Kayla then finished and my friend looked at her piercing with a random green and white piece of jewelry which she did not like at all. Kayla told my friend that was all they had left AFTER she had already pierced the bellybutton. She never gave instruction on how to clean or care for the piercing. If you are looking for a place to get pierced, this is NOT it. read more

Absolutely awful. I got my belly button pierced there while on vacation; the guy made it too shallow. When I was back in the area, I stopped by hoping they would fix their mistake. Nope, they wanted to charge me for another piercing. No thanks. I will go to a reputable place in my home town. Very disappointed. Definitely do not go there. read more
