No grave ?

Very pretty out in that area although the landscaping with the maintenance crews are awful. I had complained about the grass around my parents grave not being taken care of and no one took me seriously this three or four times I've complained. A year ago I could not find my parents grave because it was so thick with dirt four or 5 inches. I was freaking out and crying and I brought it to their attention. Just went out two months ago and the same thing happened again I could not find them because no one had even taken care of the grass or trimming . Could not find my parents grave once again and I had to dig personally four or 5 inches in order to find it extremely upsetting for the money you pay there.

Hi there. I see the hours of operation, mmmbn that those are the hours the office is open? If so, is there a separate set of hours that the gate is open for access…

Hello, Yes the hours on Yelp are the office hours. The cemetery gates are open 7 days a week from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.

One of the first places I ever drove to after getting my driver's license was here, I brought my grandfather and began a weekly tradition until he too died. It's pretty far out, but it's still a nice drive for the most part. We come here for holidays and birthdays mostly. They remove the dead flowers and keep it looking nice. I've only had contact with the office once, to request the flower vase that was cracked be replaced and they took care of it right away. I can't speak to pricing as I didn't personally arrange anything, my uncle handled all of that. I do know that when my grandfather wanted to arrange having his oldest son interred here from an out of state cemetery they were very kind to him. I've been here before on Christmas and seen large family gatherings which is nice, seeing that people haven't forgotten their loved ones. It's usually pretty quiet here and parking isn't a problem.

Not only did this not happen, but when wrapping our loved one in white linen, their actions were shockingly rough and lacking in sensitivity while we were present in the room. Their treatment was impersonal and dismissive, making an already difficult moment even more painful. We were told that the individuals that came to pick up our loved one was likely new and not trained. What we observed was far from it, it was clear the 2 employees were very much in sync and had done this many times. At the service itself, we received only 1 of the 2 pre-paid flower arrangements we selected (the small one!). We prepaid for El Cajon mortuary's services for both of our parents. We had high hopes that the first experience was unique but our 2nd experience mirrored the first, confirming that the poor level of care we previously received is not an anomaly. The upside is we at least received BOTH pre-paid flower arrangements the second time. If you are seeking a mortuary that offers respect--both emotional for you and physical for your loved one, please consider other options.

Joey greeted us and made sure we had what we needed. They had everything ready on time, were very accommodating and the place was immaculate. We wanted to serve coffee and some snacks, they had 3 tables ready to go in the back of the room which I decorated and arranged food on. I brought 2 carafes to make coffee in as well as table decorations and some finger foods. It worked out perfectly. Overall, we were all so grateful for everything England Family Mortuary had to offer and the services they provided. They are 3 generations of caring individuals who put a great deal of pride into their work and mortuary. I would use them again in a second. Instead of having the family burdened with additional responsibilities when his time comes- it was great to see him being proactive. And honestly, a huge relief, in my opinion. Back then, and to this present day- he's been living in a facility that takes care of his daily needs. So, when I got his phone call that a representative from Featheringhill Mortuary would make the drive to him and get the paperwork started- pops requested my presence as well. So, I brought this up to my momma- (parents have been divorced for 30 years & actually have a friendship still). And she asked to be present as well, with pops approval. Had a representative not made the visit to his facility- we would have rented a mobility van, which isn't cheap to make such arrangements. The FM representative was patient and forthcoming when it came to explaining services, what to expect when payment is made, and why we would receive paperwork from a life insurance company. Since the arrangements have been accommodated for pops- momma has been interested in getting something very similar to his policy. As the years passed by, I have procrastinated in setting up the appointment for momma. We finally set one up and went to their location. I asked if they could retrieve pop's policy and we can piggyback on his arrangements. The FM rep was patient with momma, who has trouble at times understanding the English language. Her appointment took an hour. We didn't feel rushed at all. We booked our appointment first thing in the morning. Parking lot in the back, with some of the stalls looking very cramped. And off street parking on El Cajon Blvd. I'm most likely going to make my arrangements with FM very soon as well.

Paul, the mortuary director, went far above and beyond anything we expected. From the very beginning, he took on the overwhelming task of communicating with multiple concerned family members, easing confusion and helping everyone stay informed. That alone lifted a huge burden from us. What truly stood out was his willingness to meet our family where we were--both emotionally and physically. He personally visited the home of our loved one and gently guided family members through decisions that felt impossible at the time. Even when there was hesitation or uncertainty, Paul remained patient, kind, and deeply understanding. His knowledge and honesty were invaluable. He carefully explained the realities and consequences of delaying arrangements, but always did so with compassion and respect. In many ways, he became more than a mortuary director--he was like a social worker, helping our family come together, find clarity, and ultimately reach a place of peace and resolution. During one of the hardest moments of our lives, Paul brought calm, dignity, and guidance. We are truly grateful for his dedication and humanity, and we highly recommend Featheringill Mortuary to any family in need of support and care.
