However, when I went to him for a nasal polyp, he actually ended up performing two other procedures that were completely unnecessary that he never spoke of in our THREE pre-op appointments. When I signed the consent form in the pre-op room, I thought it was just the formal name of the procedure I was having done. I didn't realize until I woke up with a splint in my nose that I had a septoplasty. Technically, it wasn't illegal because I did give consent but it was completely unnecessary procedure and I am certain now that I never had to have surgery to begin with. I will always tell people to avoid his practice, but I will say that I learned an invaluable life lesson. As a patient, you have a responsibility to be your own best advocate and part of that is understanding that you are as much a person in need as you are a customer. Tried to make an appt with Dr. Pipia ( my primary Doctor) in early September because I had a bad…read morecough n fever. I was told that the next appt was in late OCTOBER, which I did not make bc that was outrageous. On October 16th I got covid and requested an appt and I was told next available was in late NOVEMEBR. Finally I called for an emergency appt ( bc I was still coughing and feeling sick) on Monday 10/31/22 n was told they would get back to me, that day. They didn't call me until Wednesday. I finally saw Doctor Pipia on Wednesday at noon, who told me that my lungs were still congested and inflamed, most likely from Covid. He stated he was going to send 2 prescriptions to my pharmacy immediately of which he confirmed with me. That never happened. I called on Thursday n Friday n spoke to the staff who reached out to the Doctor both days with No Response. On Monday I pleaded with Jasmin to plz help me, as I was still feeling terrible n coughing. Finally late Monday, 2 scripts was sent to my Pharmacy from another Dr at this office, a Dr. Chang and Jasmin notified me. That is 5 days of needless suffering and it could have been much worse. When I originally chose Dr. Pipia, this year bc I was living in Whitestone, I thought this would run like a normal family type of practice I was dead wrong. I also had a delay of almost 3 weeks of my medication ( which I was taking for approx 3 yrs ) from the Cardiologist at this location bc of an administrator named Matt, apparently not the Doctors fault.
