The schale is akin to a bitchin' latte a la 'third wave coffee' and, three times now, I've been very happy with both the flavor and the appearance. If you're a bit of a coffee snob, and wandering around the Markthalle (trams 4, 17, 13/Dammweg stop), then order a Schale at the bar. You'll probably be happy that you did so! During the day, there usually only seems to be one person working the bar (which is of fairly decent size) that also services the floor, so you may have a wee wait when ordering your drink.

This place has small interdependently owned shops so each step you take brings you to a different shop. There is everything for everyone! There were cheese shops, Italian food, beer/liqueur, a restaurant in the back, small bakery, a section of teas, cheeses/dried meats, fish market & perfect if you wanna take a small trinket home. The night that I came in they had a small band playing in the front so it had a nice ambiance to the space. I strongly recommend to visit this place, and don't forget to bring a large bag to put in your new goodies!

Well, I challenge those with a low tolerance for 'ick' to find anything wrong with this particular Caritas shop. It's tidy, funky, inviting, and has an attractive, if, however, rather narrow selection of items for adults. I was impressed with the children's selection. Parents would do well to shop here! For those keen on donating articles of clothing, accessories and shoes, there is a large, red Caritas drop-off 'box' around the back of the shop at your disposal. Also fun: the window displays are ever-changing and well-arranged.

I remember I'd take the train from Schaffhausen to Zurich every morning, and we'd pass the massive Freitag store (shipping containers stacked on top of one another quite high up in the air), and I always wanted to know what it was. They're really unique bags, wallets, backpacks..etc. made from truck tarps. They're different, but cool. And Swiss prices... of course ;) . You'll notice a lot of people walking around in Zurich with them. The place is also in a cool location, right next to the prime tower, Garold's Garden, and Viadukt... you could spend an entire afternoon exploring the area. Also make sure to visit the top to overlook Kreis 5. If you stand still enough, you can feel yourself swaying... wooooooOoOoOoOoO

We were on the hunt for a wardrobe as flats don't seem to have a lot of closets, if any at all, and found a sizable amount on the ground floor of Brockenhaus. I'd say the prices ranged anywhere from 300 to 1000 CHF, depending on quality and such. While we didn't purchase anything given that we don't yet have a flat, we 'filed' away what we would like when we do have a place to put it in, so, Brockenhaus, we'll see you again!
