I wanted to give the recently reinvented Sinclair Oil Dinomart in Cottonwood Heights some love. It was changed over from a Chevron a probably 6 months ago and from the trips I have taken there the transformation has been a much appreciated one, especially on the convenience store side.
The remodel didn't really increase the size of the store, as it was already a good size, it just helped it realize its full potential. They have a good selection of the normal chips, snacks and candy. There's a fountain machine for when you're looking for a cold syrupy drink to get you through the Cottonwood Corporate Center monotony. They recently have reinvented their deli selection. They seem to have a good offering of sandwiches around lunch. Anytime after it gets slimmer as you'd expect after letting the office crowd pick through them.
There's 4 double sided gas pumps. I honestly don't get gas here much just because it does seem to have a slight premium to it. But on the other hand there aren't too many gas station near the 6200 South exit on I-215 so if you need some sweet liquid octane for your iron horse this is as good a place as any to get it.
Really the reason I like going here since the remodel is the fact its just more easy going that the bonkers 7-11 half a mile east by the canyon. The car-less ski bums avoid this place because its too far to walk from the canyon. The lack of ski pants and joblessness makes it much more civilized. And when you're looking for a bag a Cheetos and a Diet Coke, civility is always top of the list. read more
