I went to ICS for eleven years. From the age of 3 up until I was 13. The problem with this school is not the education, or their way of teaching the word of God, it is their blatant disrespect for those of African American descent. During my time there it was very clear that although the majority of their school was made up of minority students they did not care much about the history and importance of black Americans which was hard to deal with as a child. Being told that because of my skin color I was cursed and Martin Luther King Jr. did not do much for black people. At that time MKJ day wasn't even given as a holiday but every other national holiday was. Although these statements were made by one teacher, he was high up and is a minority himself, which shows the level of hatred that lies in this school. I do not think this is the kind of message that should ever be sent from a "Christian" school. Honestly going to a public high school gave me way more opportunities than staying there for high school ever could. Hopefully they have changed but hate like that seems to linger.

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy is one of the most, if not the most, impressive school I have encountered. It is the rare balance of a strong academic curriculum coupled with a nurturing uplifting environment. The principal implements diverse activities such as "Read-a-thons", "Thanksgiving Luncheon", "Breakfast with Santa", "Field and Culture Day", and numerous educational and recreational school trips which provide for a fun, family-like atmosphere as well as an actively engaging and enjoyable learning experience. The class sizes are small and the teachers are supportive and utilize a variety of different modalities of teaching in order to afford the students a well balanced, comprehensive education. The students are well-mannered, kind and respectful, and always willing to lend a helping hand. In addition, Alumni visit often stating that they felt well prepared for high school. I highly recommend St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy to any parent who is considering a Catholic school education for their child.

Many of my teachers have blatantly stated that they're tired (which I understand) but they also say things like how they don't wanna be there and just teach to get money. Not to mention there is so much fees that you have to pay. You can't go one week without getting 20 flyers saying they need more money whether it's pretzel day or overpriced walkathon fees, be left with no money after coming to this school. When you first into class, you could already feel the tension in the and the to can't go a single day without a problem occurring. From personal experience, I've gotten hit with a chair and the person gets sent to the office comes back with no Detentions, suspensions anything.... they will only punish you for dress codes and using balls at recess. Someone in my class literally got a concussion from getting hit in the head with a water bottle that someone threw across the classroom and they didn't get in trouble. This is absolutely absurd and I'm just thankful that I'm leaving the this year. People only send their kids here because they used to come here. Yes, maybe 30 years ago, it was a great school that cared about your children but now it's a a hellhole that doesn't care about your well-being. If you wanna come to a school infested with rats to get bullied and pay a lot of money, be my guess, but this is just a warning. From, a literal student that attends this school.
