There are approximately 45 stores and restaurants; there were plenty of parking and even a playground. I find myself here quite often so I figured I'd give it an update. It's a beautifully maintained shopping plaza that reminds me of Garden City in Cranston, RI. On a beautiful day, it's a great place to walk around. They also hosts special events throughout the year. I enjoy dining at Mercato, 110 Grill, Flatbread Pizza, Panera Bread, and Jefferson Fry Company. My kids love Barnes and Noble and Walter's Boundless Playground. If you need to do your grocery shopping, there is a Shop Rite. There are plenty of shopping that can be done at Kohl's, Old Navy, Dick's Sporting Goods and more. There is a new candy shop called The Nutmeg Sweet Shoppe. If you want to attend a cooking class, book a spot at Sur La Table. There are a variety of businesses and many more businesses are being added. It's located on Route 44 and going in and out of the place can be chaotic sometimes, but there are traffic lights. Overall, it's a great place to shop and dine.

Once you pull in, there's an immediate four way stop sign intersection that can require the most patience of all, because taking turns is an unknown concept to some people. But once you're in, there's a good distribution of restaurants to stores. Shop Rite, Panera Bread, Barnes and Noble, Ben & Jerry's, Kohls, Chipotle, the Paper Store.... A lot of these places have been around for years. When a shop does go out, a new one comes in pretty quickly. There is a lot of parking available, although some is further than others. Kohl's has a large lot to itself entering on the second floor. The holidays can get chaotic in all parking areas, so if you must join the fray be kind.

Kohl's is known for its value and selection of brands for the whole family. They also have great sales and coupons; the more you purchase the more coupons you get. Also, it's a convenient place to shop because they offer online shopping, in-store shopping, and they have an app. You can even do Amazon returns there. I've always enjoyed shopping at Kohl's because the prices are usually good. I'm a bargain shopper so you will find me at the clearance racks. The best time to go is during the holidays (fourth of July, black Friday, end of summer, etc.) There is something for everyone and a great place to shop for gifts too. I like this store because it's two levels, organized, clean, and has great parking. There are escalators and an elevator. It's conveniently located in the Shops of Farmington. The service was good. Overall, a nice store and I enjoyed shopping there.

They carry good merchandise and their prices are usually quite affordable with abundant sales. We liked the clothes we found, and even one likable dress that wasn't on sale was not priced too high. It's a good sized store, so you'll do some walking to get to the men's and children's sections. There's also a second floor easily reached by escalator or elevator, and you'll find everything here from clothing to electronics, from jewelry to shoes. We did have difficulty find help, however. When we did, they were helpful, but there didn't seem to be a lot of them. There's also a large Sephora store within Kohl's that seems to cater to grown-ups. Lots of parking outside -- a good stop for us at the Shoppes at Farmington Valley.

However, when I went to the register to make my purchase today a grouchy old lady with a huge stick up her a** had the nerve to tell my twin 9 year old sons to not touch the candy bags on display if they weren't going to buy them. I quickly wondered why she would ASSUME we weren't going to buy them and I asked her if she was in a bad mood. I followed up by saying that I've never heard that people can't look at candy bags or show their parents for possible purchase. She said that many customers won't buy an item if it has been touched. WOW! Is all I can say. The nerve. Everything is touched in their store! Candles are smelled, pillows are squeezed and the list goes on. This lady had some nerve and even the manager behind her told me it was fine if my kids picked up and looked at the candy bags. I mean what's the point of having tiny gum-ball machines right next to the register if NOT TO ENTICE children?!!!!! Anyhow, people are just rude and all I can say is that if you're damn near 80 years old and working at Marshall's just chill the F*ck out. You don't need to act like you own the store and try to make up these crazy rules to try and assert your non-existent power. Maybe CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT THE JOB FOR YOU. If you do have grandkids I pray for them because you do not know how to talk to or treat children.

I'm a fan of this Marshall's; it's big, clean, and organized. It is very similar to the HomeGoods (which is owned by the same company) in the same plaza. I love their clearance racks which can be found at the end of the aisles. A great place to bargain shop. I've always loved TJ Maxx and Marshall's is essentially its sibling. The following types of products can be found at Marshall's; footwear, clothing, bath, bedding, home decor, furniture, beauty products, jewelry, housewares, toys, giftware, and per supplies. I loved their candles and random skincare, and soaps. The clothes were pretty decent if you dig around the racks. The employees were friendly. Overall, a fun place to shop and you can find some treasures; as their slogan says, "Your surprise is waiting and never boring, always surprising."

The employees are friendly, helpful, and efficient. The parking lot is big and there are enough cashiers on duty where you don't have to wait in line too long. Now for the items, it's a wonderland full of fantastic and affordable items. My favorite would be the food section (duh), because you can find snacks that you can't find in other stores. They sell all sorts of items from kitchen stuff, seasonal items like shovels/sleds, jackets, shoes, clothes, home goods, etc. Most likely what you're looking for is at Job Lot and for a fraction of the price.
