Got hit with another $2000 court fee that I don't remember hearing about, for a total cost of $7000 to file the 6-8 documents that the court required. At nearly $1000 per page of information - which we had to already provide, seems a steep cost for their efforts. Not only was this was a lengthy (over 18 month) and expensive endeavor dealing with the additional legal issues was very draining.

Ms Duca confirmed the trust had been received and would be reviewed prior to 2pm consultation with Attorney Smith. To my disappointment I was informed by Attorney Smith during the first few minutes of the consultation that she DOES NOT review ANY documents prepared by another attorney's office due to her liability risk. Attorney Smith's legal assistant should know the attorney's policy on this matter. Alexandra Duca knowingly indicated the trust documents would be reviewed to prepare for the consultation. This was a waste of time and money . The $400 fee can easily be replaced with more money. However my time, I can not replace. I had such great excitement to support a female owned black business. However I am disappointed that there was not even an apology for misleading me. Law Office of Elsa Smith and anyone else reading my comments please use my experience to make wise choices. I am in possession of a check from HUD, which I can't deposit to my account in Florida without a Florida-approved statement certifying me as her representative. My bank needs this certification before they can open up an Estate in my mother's name. At the time of her death, I was told by a family member that there was no need and that there was no estate. That was a lie. She had a checking, a savings, and a home. The home has been settled. The money has not been accounted for. I need the "certificate" to open an estate for her in Florida to deposit this check. Resolution pending. It has been two years since her death.
