Customized Canada T-Shirt? Yes, please!…read more My friend and I decided to take a trip up to the Great White North and wanted to buy matching t-shirts to commemorate the rare occasion. Well, sadly, most of the Canada t-shirts were BUTT UGLY. We're talking like beavers on logs, maple leafs with the words "OH CANADA" in horrible fonts, mountains with snow, skiiers, moose....all those typical Canada things. We wanted to find one SO ugly it'd be funny and ironic, but we weren't sure other people would really get it besides us and we'd end up just being embarassed wearing it in public. So, we were walking down the street and saw this place were you could make your own t-shirts, sweatshirts, pants, etc. We decided rather than spending $40 on a t-shirt with a moose on it, we'd just design our own! They use American Apparel clothing (ironically), which is fairly priced and of decent quality. We chose what design we wanted the sweatshirts (we opted for hoodies over t-shirts as it was literally freezing there) and they said they would both be done in about 40 minutes. We went down the street to grab some food, came back and voila - we had our own customized Canada hoodies sans beavers and moose (but you know we totally HAD to incorporate a maple leaf somehow)! SCORE!

I dont understand the gimmick with this company. They sell american apparel blank shirts with one…read morecolor prints on printer stock transfer paper and call it a "custom t shirt?" Not only is there selection only limited by their imagination and, more importantly, which picture people will pay $15 transfer price for, but in my experiences with them their transfers fade really quickly. The quality is the exact same as iron on transfer paper! The rest of their merchandise is tacky jackets, poorly made converse knock offs, and overpriced dollar store sun glasses and toys, all of which you can expect a 500% knock up. But hey, thats why they sell to teenagers! theyre edgy and dont really care when they arent spending their own money! So dont spend yours here!

This place sells custom frames and mugs, but they also do phone repairs…read more I needed a repair for my phone that a certain (fruit) store upstairs refused to do, so I stumbled across this booth while trying to explore alternatives. The guy (Marshall) was quite clear explaining everything. Quite the eager salesman. He whisked my phone off to the repair guy. The repair took a lot longer than the promised 1h Guess they'll say anything to get the sale first. Something to keep in mind. The repairs are actually outsourced to another booth (Mobilinq) which is maybe 50m away, outside the Walmart. See my review for that place as well. See my review of Mobilinq for repair details. I would give a higher review except they broke part of my phone (unrelated part) during the repair. I had to shell out more money to get that part replaced. I understand that accidents happen, but it's a hard pill to swallow when they charge full price for something THEY broke. The good news is the repairs have all held up. They use factory parts (I'm guessing these are the parts that fail QC at the factory), as evidenced by the (sometimes covered up) logo on the parts which I saw them install. So the parts won't be 100% as good as the official repair, but 98% is good enough to be honest, especially for the price. Most importantly, I was able to get my phone working again when the fruit store told me that I was looking at a unit replacement.

You wouldn't think much of Foto City to look at it. It's in Lynn Valley mall, which can be…read moreswarming with the residents of neighbourhood elderly homes if you hit it at the wrong time, and the store front almost comes across as a very cheesy novelty shirt place. This has been far from my experiences there. I've been here for passport photos because they are so reasonable to work with. 20 minutes, from walking in without a smile and walking out with terrorist photos, and the cheapest in North Van ($10). I've also had a couple of important shirts made here. The first epic t-shirt was for a friend's stag; it was a replica from The Game stating "I WAS DRUGGED AND LEFT FOR DEAD IN MEXICO - AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS STUPID T-SHIRT". The shirt came out beautifully and looked like it could have been stolen from the set. The second shirt was for a friend's birthday. I went in on a Sunday to chat about the best way to bring my idea to life. Two colours of nonstandard text on a coloured shirt? Easy, bring in a PDF so it'll scale without any distortion. I was concerned about the turn around time and they responded that while they do have a big project in the works, if I got it to them on Sunday, they could have it for me on Wednesday. I didn't make it back until Tuesday with my files. We committed to a shirt style and colour, chose the colours of the text, and placement on the shirt. Since it was a one-off printing, they only offered Vinyl printing (silk screening is available for larger runs), so I took what I could get. He told me he'd still have it ready for Wednesday. When I told him I didn't need the shirt until Saturday and that he could relax a little and have it ready for me by Friday evening, he was very thankful. Picked up the shirt with no trouble and was all set for the party. When my buddy opened up the shirt with the Left Rights lyrics "Hardcore Honky Galore" his face lit up and said "I didn't know they made this shirt! Where the fuck did you find it!?" I was so pleased that he felt it was commercial quality. All this for $25. I've had a friend use Foto City for embroidery work. Turns out they're the cheapest game in town for this too. I told my brother about this for when he was getting hats and patches made for his business. Now both of them are happy with their products too. While my brother did wish for a higher quality product, he also said that the product he got for the price was great. I don't have any experience with it, but they also do video transfer services, photo printing onto mugs/key chains/etc., photo engraving, mounting, laminating, business cards, and a variety of photo finishing services. Next time you've got some digital imagery to print, give these guys a call. They're always great to talk to and want to make sure they give you a quality product you will be happy with at a reasonable price.

My partner grabbed the baby back and the clerk seemed mad at us for doing so. Then while I was holding baby for the photo, the same clerk aggressively pushed my baby's face around to get her to position correctly for the photo -- again without asking permission. She poked her cheek hard and shoved her chin this way and that. It was an odd and disturbing experience. My baby is newborn, and newborns do not respond well to being pushed and prodded. :( I am giving 2 stars for service and because the wait time was decent at 30 minutes.
