They may be good for phone repairs, but do not trust them with larger devices…read more Sunday, January 14th, I submitted a laptop with water damage for repair. I asked the employee if he had an estimate of how long a repair like this would take. He replied sarcastically, "well, it's water damage, SO..." Max (different employee) called that afternoon and said the motherboard was "extremely corroded," but their "motherboard guy" was in Wisconsin, so they could ship the laptop to him overnight. He said a new motherboard would be $900, so trying to repair it in WI would be cheaper. When he assured me the laptop would be sent Monday morning and still fixed in 1-1.5 weeks, I agreed to it. Monday I saw online that new motherboards with Intel i5 cores were online for $250-350. My laptop is an i7, but I was willing to downgrade. I also wanted a tracking number for the laptop as I spent over $1200 for it and was concerned about it getting lost or damaged in the mail. I called several times and left a voicemail, and they didn't call back. Tuesday I called again, and someone answered but didn't know what was going on. I again asked for a tracking number. They said they'd send it. They didn't. Thursday I finally reached Max and shared my concerns -- the employee on Sunday was sarcastic, the price he gave for a motherboard repair ($900) was drastically higher than the options online ($300), other local shops offered motherboard repairs in store for similar or better prices, the option of downgrading from an i7 to an i5 core to save money wasn't discussed, they were difficult to reach by phone, I still hadn't received a tracking number. It all seemed shady. He apologized and promised to get a tracking code. I had been prepared to file a report for theft. He emailed that afternoon and said he'd been "misinformed as to when his coworkers were going to be able to ship the package" and they would overnight it right away. Note they were supposed to mail it Mon morning for it to reach WI by Tues or Wed. There is a post office 5 minutes from their store. At this point I no longer trusted them with my device. I called and said I would like my laptop back unrepaired. From the tracking number I saw the laptop had not yet left the USPS facility, so I told Max he could request an interception (Fargo Phone Repair did not suggest this option before I brought it up; I had to look it up for them). To their credit they paid the $30 interception fee. USPS didn't register the interception until the laptop traveled all the way to WI. At 10 am on Thurs, January 25th, I received a USPS tracking text notification that the laptop had been returned to sender in Fargo. I arrived at Fargo Phone Repair at 3 pm to pick up my laptop, and the two employees -- including the original person who accepted my laptop and was rude -- didn't know what I was talking about. I showed him the text update and asked when he could pick it up. He asked if I had "things to do." (I had left work in the middle of the day as soon as I could to recover my laptop; yes, I had things to do.) The person said it would be ready at the store in an hour. An hour and a half later, he texted that it was ready. When I walked in, I asked him if he would mind documenting their troubleshooting steps (e.g. checked power jack, checked screen connection, found corrosion in this specific area, etc) so I could have a record with which to move forward in repairing this. He wrote "MOTHERBOARD HAS CORROSION" on a sticky note. I removed the motherboard myself and found an area the size of a quarter with a slight layer of corrosion -- far from "extremely corroded." I called to ask about this ("Hi, you said this was extremely corroded and I'm only seeing this small section; am I missing anything?"), and the employee rudely asked if I even knew what corrosion looked like. I ordered a new motherboard for $300 from Ebay and replaced it myself in one evening. I had no prior electronics experience and simply used online tutorials. It's been a month and it works perfectly. So I spent $40 for this company to mismanage my laptop at every single step of the process and send it on a roadtrip to Wisconsin for no reason.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Brought my iPad in to get fixed, they cracked the screen admittedly,…read moreI said hey this wasn't cracked like this when I dropped it off. After about 10 minutes of waiting they told me "basically since the iPad is non functioning there is nothing we can do about it" go some where else. There is a place at the west acres mall that is good. Do not recommend at all. I wasn't looking to get a new free iPad or anything like that. But you also don't tell a customer, since your iPad doesn't work anyway there's nothing we can do about it. Lost my business, my partner was going to get his back screen replaced on his iPhone for $160, not anymore, going somewhere else.

I was without my phone for almost a month because I could not get past this "switch control" that I had no idea how it got on my phone. Every place I turned, the answer was "you will just have to factory reset". I was not willing to take that answer as I NEEDED in my phone - everything two-factors so I was not even able to get into my email, and many other apps I use and much less desperately wanted to get to my photos! Carl was beyond helpful and I can't thank him/Phone-n-Fix enough for helping me get back into my phone. The customer service is beyon superior. I am beyond grateful for the assistance. Thank you!!!

SAVE YOUR MONEY & FIND A QUALITY PHONE REPAIR SHOP! Spent $190 to get my husband's screen fixed. An…read morehour after leaving the place, his phone dies. Of course, he went to go charge it & it would not charge or cut on. We assumed it was a bad charger, so we tried 3 different chargers & still nothing. Left it on the chargers for hours & still nothing. He already had a flight later that night to get home to Florida during the Coronavirus pandemic, so didn't have time to go back to the place. (Mind you, we NEVER had an issue with the battery prior to getting the screen fixed) When he got back to Florida, we went to another phone repair shop to see what was wrong with the battery. The guy opened the phone & told us it was an iPhone 8 battery. He showed us what the iPhone XR battery was & placed that battery into the phone & the phone cut on. He did all of this in front of us & while we was still there. That was an extra $55 to get the phone fixed! I called the Phone n Fix shop and talked to the owner Carl, to notify them that whoever fixed my husband's phone switched out his battery. HE TOOK NO OWNERSHIP OF THEIR MISTAKE! He kept telling me that they didn't do it because it was impossible since we left with the phone working. We had no issues with the battery prior to getting the screen fixed. We never had the phone worked on prior to getting the screen fixed. I highly doubt Apple will give us an iPhone XR with an iPhone 8 battery and even if they did, we would of had that problem wayyy before going to Phone n Fix. I was so pissed about the lack of ownership and HORRIBLE business practices dealing with the battery issue, I didn't get to tell him about the Face ID not working either! Yeah, ANOTHER $99 dollars for another mistake on their part!

NEVER AGAIN! U NEED TO READ THIS! READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH!…read more Had Iphone that would sometimes charge and sometimes wouldn't charge. Usually wiggling the cable got it to work, but it was progressively getting worse. We decided to take it in to get the charge port replaced. It would be a simple straight forward cost effective repair. The phone was in perfect working condition otherwise. They gave us a discount to replace the battery while the phone was open and we went with it. Got the phone back the same day and everything was working great. They did not comment on the condition of the phone. We simply paid and were on our way. 3 days later the phone stopped charging all together. IT DIED AND WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON. We took it back in for batteries plus to "warranty their work." They took it apart and put new charging components in it and the phone would not even turn on. Mind you before they touched it the phone was functioning except the intermittent charge issue, NOW THE PHONE WAS DEAD IN THE WATER. They said sorry nothing we can do about it. We were furious because the phone was fine before they touched it. Now it wouldn't work at all. They still expected us to pay for labor. I negotiated with the manager heatedly and he refunded us for all labor costs from both days. He was unwilling to warranty the phone and apply money towards us getting a new one. Their contract does mention this. This is where the story gets interesting. The manager claimed that the phone had "corrosion" inside of it. The "corrosion" was the cause of the phone suddenly not working. We demanded to see pictures of the corrosion and they emailed them to us. It seemed like a fishy story. To me it sounded like they broke our phone and were not going to take responsibility for it. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and took our now ruined phone home and had to buy another one out of pocket since they would not warranty their work. We had a non functioning Iphone laying around at home and decided to let our son take it apart for fun. As he took it apart we NOTICED NOT ONE SINGLE SPEC OF CORROSION INSIDE THE PHONE. THEY LIED TO US OUTRIGHT. We were furious and filed a case with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB reached out the batteries plus. Batteries plus never responded since they are not BBB accredited. We gave them the benefit of the doubt since the phone was older, but well maintained. We had a functioning Iphone with intermittent charge issues before they touched it. It was 100% dead after they touched it. They claimed corrosion and showed us pictures of the corrosion. Our actual phone had NO CORROSION inside it. At the beginning of the deal we handed them a functioning phone and they handed us back a broken one. You Decide. Wish I would have kept all the pictures. BE WARNED. NEVER AGAIN
