She has changed my mind, and has been helpful when my moods change. Different styles, different shades, she can do it all! The products they use have always been kind to my hair, and that's a big deal. I love getting a voicemail from Lynn with my appointment confirmation, it makes my day. Charlotte is also just a really cool person with hot pink highlights and perfect eye makeup. She listens to my dumb stories and we share a lot of thoughts in common. I can't really imagine going anywhere else. Please try this salon out. They're located on Main St in Sun Prairie in a rapidly redeveloped area, and there's plenty of parking. Open on Saturday, too.

She gave me a bit of my confidence back. I am indebted to her for her compassion and her magical skills! Go see Charlotte. You will not regret it!

I found this place by reading the reviews on Google and yelp. I hardly ever cut my hair as I…read moreusually like it very long, but it was obvious that it was time for a cut since my hair was incredibly dry and dead. I booked with Al (Albert), who was incredibly sweet and did an amazing job! I usually just get a trim, but decided to go shorter because I had left over blonde that I wanted out. He made sure I was okay with going as short as it was and even gave me some layers to help add some bounce to my normally flat hair. I usually come out hating my hair when I cut it short, but I absolutely loved it! He even washed and styled my hair with some curls all for an amazing price. I highly recommend booking with Al, he works with you 100% and it'll look great. I'll definitely be back when it's time to make my yearly chop. (:

The salon itself was absolutely lovely and welcoming. They were busy, but it was comfy inside. The receptionist was welcoming and engaging, I felt like I'd been there before. It was also a HUGE plus to be able to book an appointment online. Putting down half the deposit to make the appointment was no big deal! So then I met Margaret, who has incredible skills for all of us who think there's no saving our hair. I flashed a couple of pictures as "ideas" figuring it would be good to show her I wanted something "close" -- but she took me from roadkill to bombshell in an hour. I had a serious glow up in a short amount of time. I'm officially a customer for life and will absolutely be back to see Margaret!

The two negative leaning reviews apparently have a gripe with someone specific. Actually, when I…read morebegan with these words I was still under the impression that the name of this place was something nearby. So I deleted everything and waited till now to revisit. My wife and daughter both are very happy about their relationship with their beautician (Jenna) at this place. As the driver for my daughter, I am writing merely to state this facility is far nicer than any place my wife, my daughter, and myself as well, can say I have been to in all of the greater Madison area in 22 years. My wife's hair is very much the reason I fell in love with her 28years ago. Jenna is currently her go to gal for her amazingly beautiful head of curls. Coley, my daughter (nickname) has her mothers curls, but my texture I guess. As a baby she had my blonde. I miss that time. If my hair was still what it was just five years ago I wouldn't hesitate to be here for the hair care I once demanded. These days I'm just happy I still have hair and it's not quite as grey as I see myself when looking in the mirror. We can't choose our neighbors or our follicles.

I love Hair Excellence in Sun Prairie. I used to always go to Hair on Monroe St. in Madison (which…read moreis also a top-notch place that I highly recommend!) but with two small kids and a busy schedule, I was sick of making the trek from Sun Prairie to the west side of Madison to get my hair done (especially if I wanted an evening appointment and had to depend on the gods smiling down on my husband and making rush hour traffic move more quickly than usual so that he could be home in time to watch the kids). So I decided to try out Hair Excellence (a mere five-minute drive from my home, if that) and I am so glad I did. I've had a couple of different stylists, since I often don't have a lot of flexibility in terms of appointment times, so I need to take whoever is available. Luckily, all of the stylists seem to be highly trained and proficient at their jobs, so this is never a problem. I've never had a bad experience at Hair Excellence, and I always leave feeling a million times better than I did when I walked in. Most recently, I've had Marc (who did a fantastic job of lightening up my brown hair for summer, without making me look like I was trying to rock a color unsuited for my olive complexion!) and Lucas, who did a phenomenal job of darkening my hair again for fall. Although I like every stylist I've seen, I think I will try to book Lucas every time, since the cut and color was EXACTLY what I wanted. My only (very slight) complaint is that you are not able to add gratuity to your receipt when paying with credit card, so the first time I visited I was a little thrown off (luckily, I was able to visit a nearby ATM and make it back before closing in order to deliver my tip). It would be nice if you were able to add the tip on the credit card, but this is honestly such a minor complaint in the face of such a great experience, that it's almost not worth mentioning (I just remember now to carry cash with me whenever I come in for an appointment). Hair Excellence definitely isn't an inexpensive place (although it's certainly not exorbitant, either), but the service and treatment I receive is one of the best values around. I highly recommend!

On two occasions I've called to make an appointment and have been rudely told that they have no record of me in the system and "are you SURE you've been here before?" Um yes, I've been there multiple times and I'm pretty sure I didn't dream it. As far as stylists go, I've only ever had one who wasn't cold and rude (Lacey), but unfortunately she works limited hours, so it's hard to get an appointment with her. Otherwise, everyone I've had has been generally unfriendly. They've done an ok job on my hair- not spectacular, but at least ok, but for the high prices you pay to go there, I feel like you should at least be treated with a smile and a great haircut.
