The place has 3 restrooms so that was great since there were a round 150 guests. The owner seems to run a little behind on her schedule during our friend's wedding due to traffic and other hiccups throughout the beach ceremony. I had to figure out how to host my guests for a reception the night before the wedding. Most of the wedding day was us setting up an alternate location in a neighbor's back yard. I also paid for a day of coordinator to organize the vendors and they also cancelled that service and I had to find a new coordinator on the day of the wedding. They claimed that the last minute change was due to CDC guidelines related to Covid-19 and gatherings over 10 people. That guideline was in place 4 days prior to their last minute cancellation and they assured me the entire week leading up to the wedding that we were fine to proceed as long as I reduced my guest list to under 50 in compliance with the governor's orders at the time, which I did. Even 2 hours before the cancellation, I had dropped off all my items at the venue for the next night. They somehow thought that allowing my fiance and friends to haul their tables, chairs, linens and dishes to our home and back and use them for the reception made up for their last minute cancellation and told me repeatedly how they were bending over backwards for me. It was very disappointing service all around. I understand that Covid-19 presented unique challenges, but the way Coastal handled this was completely unprofessional. I would have expected the use of their items as a good will gesture for the last minute cancellation/stress and still allowed for us to re-schedule an event at the location on another date. Suffice it to say that I would not recommend them for your event.

A great place to hold a wedding in the heart of St Augustine…read more The Lightner Museum is located in the heart of historic St Augustine, the oldest city in the United States founded in 1565 by Don Pedro Menendez De Aviles of Spain. We recently attended a wedding that was held at this location and were very impressed by the venue and the staff. The chapel is intimate, with about 6 benches on one side and 9 benches on the other. A beautiful stained glass window on the front of the church provides a beautiful backdrop for your special occasion. Parking is accomplished by street parking or nearby parking lots. The bride was provided with a changing room for use upstairs. It was air-conditioned with a couch, chairs, and 3 large makeup mirrors for the bride and her ladies. It overlooked the courtyard with access controlled by the staff. They have a pretty busy schedule, often handling several weddings in a day. Our party had the chapel for several hours and private access to the courtyard for over an hour for wedding pictures. Overall, it was a great place to hold a beautiful wedding with wonderful, supportive staff and a beautiful backdrop.

The gate keepers are very…read morethorough so make sure you've been called in prior to coming if you're visiting someone or you may be waiting at the gate awhile. Right when you drive in, you see the beauty of the greens and the golfers enjoying their day. The roads are easily marked with signs and the gate keeper is very helpful giving directions once you're cleared to go inside. There are tons of big houses and very friendly people. Watch your speed as there is a policeman who patrols the area. Other than that, it is a super safe community where kids can actually play outside without having to worry about them too much.
