I checked in at 3:10pm for a 3:30pm appointment. I was not seen until 4:30pm. Then, after four failed attempts to put a needle in one of my veins, I was rescheduled for another appointment to the Encinitas facility. My veins are fine: I had a blood test on Monday, and then carpal tunnel release surgery on Tuesday - both of which put a needle in my arm. The med-techs were courteous and apologetic, but.. maybe tired? or needing more training on finding veins? My whole day was spent fasting for nothing. read more

So when you make an appointment you are talking to people out of the country who have thick accents and I was hung up on 3 times. I booked the appointment and insurance doesn't pay for it so the woman told me she would be right back to tell me how much is owed at the time of my appt, the problem is I was on hold for 20 mins and she never came back. I called 2 more times, the first person asked 20 questions and then put me on hold and then hung up on me, then called back again and was put on hold again and it's been 10 minutes. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! Have your doctor send orders to another facility. Now I have to drive there this week to get an answer as to how much this appointment will cost. STOP sending our calls to call centers outside of the US and give jobs to people here who would do the job right - MY GOD!!!!! So I filled out all my forms on line (I'm here now) and they said they didn't get them. Another 1 star for that and my appointment was 11:00 and it 11:30 and still waiting. Avoid the call center of SimonMed Imaging, go straight to SimonMed Moonlight Beach location. My experience with SimonMed's call center has been genuinely awful. When I called (760) 334-4065, I was routed to an international call center, which made everything harder than it needed to be. The agents got both my email and my name wrong for my son's appointment -- despite me spelling my name out loud, twice, to two different people. On the day of the appointment, I drove to the Carlsbad location and the office wasn't even open. When I called to find out what was going on, I got sent to the international call center again, and the rep told me my appointment had been cancelled -- but couldn't tell me why. I had to book a new appointment on the spot. When I was about to leave the Carlsbad office at 8:20am (posted opening time was 8am), the receptionist finally opened the office and redirected us to the Moonlight location so my son could still be seen the same day. The one bright spot in this whole ordeal was the receptionist at Moonlight -- she was incredibly kind, smoothed everything over, and made sure my son got his MRI done that day. Then, while I was sitting in the Moonlight office, I got another mix-up call and text from SimonMed about a different appointment. The in-person staff at Carlsbad and Moonlight deserve credit for cleaning up messes that weren't their fault. But SimonMed's international call center is a disaster -- wrong information, no accountability, wasted time, and constant frustration. They need to seriously reevaluate who's handling their phone lines, because right now it's actively driving patients away. read more

I didn't even step foot in this place and I can tell it's ripe with "training issues" as Reeham has stated. I received a referral to SimonMed for dual shoulder MRI's with contrast. I actually had a referral somewhere else, but it was out a month and a half. My insurance called other providers before redirecting the referral, to make sure that they; 1. Provide the services needed and 2. Had availability sooner than what I had scheduled. Great. They had availability "as soon as today or tomorrow if (they) had the orders". Wait the 2 days for it to be redirected. I call (June 30th) and speak to someone who books me an appointment by LOOKING UP MY AUTHORIZATION. I am scheduled for July 11th at 10:15am. I then receive a text message on July 2nd saying that they hadn't received the order and would need to reschedule unless I got it to them. So, I call my insurance the fax it over and it is confirmed as received. I get another text message confirming my appointment and providing me with a link to fill out forms. Fast forward to July 9th. I receive another text message that says they cancelled my appointment because they don't have the order. I spend an hour and 45 minutes with my insurance on the phone as well as SimonMed on the line with my insurance. Appointment is moved to July 16th. They have the order at least... So I called SimonMed Imaging and they tell me that there's an issue with the order and that I need an MRI with contrast and without. Because they won't be able to compare. Ok... kinda makes sense. THEN...I get a text message this morning saying that they don't have my order for my appointment and that they will need to reschedule. So, I do what? I call again. I file a grievance with SimonMed Imaging. 45 minutes later. I learn that we are at an impasse. BUT I get a text with a link for forms for the appointment. Just got of the phone with Reeham (spelling?), who called me, and said that they don't do the service I need and that I will have to have my referral sent elsewhere. I ask how this happened. I was told it was a training issue. I seriously questioned that considering that between my insurance and myself, I spoke to 5 different people. This is a foundational issue. How would I even be able to trust any of their radiologists to even read the images? Sounds like a company that expanded too quickly, has a high rate of turnover and an abysmal management. Do yourself and spare yourself the headache and anger, go somewhere else. This is a laughable attempt at being a medical provider. read more

Based on trying to schedule an appt. My doctor recommended a CT for my heart, that's all I remember. I tried to schedule appt online, it's down permanently. So they said chat with us, so I did, after filling out the paperwork in the chat the operator went dark, I waited 20 min and sent a couple replies asking if they were still working on it. no reply, finally I just disconnect and thought I'll just call. The woman spoke fast with a HEAVY accent. I asked her to slow down as I couldn't understand. she asked which test I needed, I said the CT calcium heart scan, guess that wasn't the right verbiage, she then rattled off various test but I couldn't make out what she was saying half the time. I suggest finding another service provider. read more

I've got six calls from them telling me to press 1 so I can be connected to a representative so I can schedule my appointment, but when I'm connected I'm told by the representative that they have to call me back to schedule my appointment It's been over a week and still no call back and I keep getting same texts and emails telling me to call to schedule a appointment and its the same I'll send a message over and they'll call you back and still nothing, I'm done with them I'll go elsewhere. I had scheduled an MRI more than a month ago. and they contacted me the day before to say we had to reschedule, because they had no contrast!! What imaging facility runs out of contrast??? This visit took planning re: driver for the procedure, and my schedule. I was extremely unimpressed with the unprofessional way they conduct business, and have rescheduled elsewhere. read more

They will not leave you alone once they have your number. I had some orders sent to them. I found that they did not have the type of machine needed for the image, so I left. I get called ALL THE TIME from them. I have it blocked, but their automated system leaves a message on my voicemail that I need to clean up. Horrible read more

I had high hopes for SimonMed as it's a much needed service. Unfortunately my experience was not good. My initial thought was that the facility was clean and the staff seemed friendly, but the quality and accuracy of the service is very poor. I went in for a scan that is used to create a ratio when compared to others of the same gender and age. The ratio is very different for men than it is for women. My file clearly says female, as does my drivers license and quite frankly my chest, whom the tech connected electrodes to. Nonetheless, he or someone else checked male on the test. This resulted in the radiologist's report data and comparison stating an incorrect ratio. 42 days later and countless hours on hold to get to customer services representatives whose English is hard to understand, being transferred to medical records that did nothing, to finally getting to the actual facility. The facility clearly knows they are in error and said they'd fix it. All they did was add a line in the report that says they wrote the wrong gender, but did not change the actual data. I was told they couldn't do anything further. I was transferred to Audrey in compliance. She stated that they would not correct the report data. That I had to interact with my doctor to have them send a new request stating the info was incorrect. Why is the onus on me to correct their mistake? Why should I incur any further time or financial loss? Is a correct report for a service I paid for really too much to ask? One other side note. I witnessed blatant lack of HIPAA compliance. An elderly woman was in that was confused. They came out to the patient waiting area and asked her many HIPAA sensitive questions that should have been asked in private. If you are considering SimonMed beware that if even one detail is wrong, you will spend many hours only to find out they will not correct their admitted mistake. read more

Easy to find, good parking and located in a cleaning new building. The staff was polite and professional. The tech who administered my CAT Scan, Keith, was obviously experienced and made me feel I was in good hands. He explained the procedure in detail, answered questions thoroughly, and made sure I was good to go before running the test. The process took less than ten minutes. It was a positive experience and I recommend the practice. read more

Parking is easy and free! Unfortunately, the communication is horrible. First time to schedule a Coronary CT scan, and my cardio office called a week prior to my appointment and said I needed labwork prior to the scan. Fine, my cardiologist ordered labs, I received results, and was ready for the scan. SimonMed called me to go over preparation, and I complied with everything they mentioned (no coffee, no food, just plenty of water 4-6 hours before my 10am appointment). I take the day off work, get there at 9:22am (30 miles from my house), check in, and wait. About 10 minutes prior to my check-in, they measure my heartrate and said it was too high (at 74bpm) to take a scan. Recommended I take beta blockers and reschedule, but there was no mention of the 65bpm or below requirement prior. Then they put the blame on my doctor. They should have covered it in the preparation. My HR has never been below 65bpm! Witnessed another patient with an MRI appointment that was turned away because they recently had a flood and shorted out the MRI equipment. Ugh, I will not return to this imaging facility. read more

I am an MD. I expect the quality of care that I give. After calling for weeks and being unable to schedule a cardiac exam. I decided to walk in. it was difficult but I was able to schedule out a month. I received no Communication after that. I walked in for the appointment and filed out all the forms for the 2nd time. They were unable to do the exam because they needed labs within the last 6 weeks. Poor communication. Poor customer service. Lack of ownerships responsibility to their clients. read more

Disrespectful, Unprofessional, Careless, Lazy, and overall unacceptable! Needing an MRI my doctor referred their preferred vendor - SimonMed Imaging ("SMI") - and although I prefer to use another vendor I opted to go with their recommendation; however what a nightmare! This appears to be another company bought by one of the multi-billion dollar private equity firms who changed the once great service and replaced it with remote call centers who treat you like a number! Although I had out-of-town plans during their first available appointment the following week I opted to change my family's plans so I can accommodate getting this done; however SMI called me just one hour before I'm heading out the door for the aforementioned scheduled appointment to say they need to reschedule because "insurance hasn't approved the authorization yet." And although this is RIDICULOUS since they could, and should, have called me well before I'm just getting ready to head out the door for an appointment that was scheduled last week, my insurance (Blue Shield) has never hesitated to approve what I need done; however there has been times vendors have been remiss (AKA "LAZY!") in following up on getting said approval! To make things much worse, I called SMI in hopes to get someone on the phone to discuss this and all I got what their remote call center that, after I asked to speak with their supervisor or anyone at SMI other than their "call center" I was placed on hold TWENTY FOUR MINUTES before this highly inconsiderate person got back on the phone to insult my intelligence and say, "I've been trying this entire time to get a supervisor on the line but no one is available." I again asked to speak with one of the two people and he just transferred me back to the queue so I could start all over again (and that was after being on the phone for a half hour thus far!). In the end SMI I SO SCREWED UP that I ended up just showing up for the MRI and everything went fine! This, however, was only after I called my doctor's office who called someone in MRI's back office (Brook?) who confirmed I'm still on the schedule (which is why I opted to just show up!). Sadly, my doctor's office said this is not the first time this happened. Note: After my MRI I asked the receptionist at SMI if I may please have their location's number and she said they have used a call service for the past two months and there's no way to reach someone. For whatever it's worth, the imaging company I have used for years is "Carlsbad Imaging" and THEY ROCK! Additionally, when you call the nice people there are ready, willing, and able to both answer their phone (unlike MRI where there's a recording!) ... and you're not treated like a number! read more

Went to SimonMed for a Cardiac CT Calcium Scan at their Carlsbad offices. It was quick, easy and super efficient! Setting up an appointment was super user-friendly! The technician for the scan was really nice and very clear about the procedure, he also easily answered all my questions! The offices are clean and staff very professional. I would recommend this office to everyone! read more
