Front Range Preventive Imaging - The EBT Heart Scan. The Gold Standard for Coronary Calcium Imaging

While doing an internet search for a local provider, I came across an ad for virtual colonoscopy with Front Range Preventive Imaging. Did a bit of research and it sounded less invasive, faster, without sedation, and took a look at surrounding structures besides the colon using CT scan technology. Called and spoke with a super helpful and professional woman who checked with my insurance to see if it was covered, which it was. Scheduled, received prep and instructions in the mail a week prior to the procedure. Prep was not bad at all the day before; fasting, laxatives, lots of fluids. Procedure was fast and easy; all the staff was very nice and professional, explained each step thoroughly, took about 15 min to explain what would happen, only about 10 min to run me through the machine. No sedation, I was on my way to a big breakfast right after. Had to call a week later for results, but I think that was because I didn't specify where to send them correctly. They emailed them promptly. Report was very thorough and in addition to my colon remarked on findings of all surrounding organs and boney structures. I am super impressed and happy with my experience and would recommend this over conventional colonoscopy to anyone without a family history or prior finding of polyps. The only downside is that if there are any polyps found, they can't remove them during this procedure, you have to go back in for the convention route.

Insurance ALSO paid. I had to call and ask for a reconciliation and refund. I have been calling to check in regularly and still have not received my money back. Zero complaints about the technician but the billing process has been a nightmare. Not worth it. I was worried about writing a review for fear I'd never receive my money but it looks like it doesn't even matter.

A quick note about the facility itself: Do you want to save a few hundred bucks on your imaging? Find the sense that you're trusting your medical imaging to a poorly regulated, former communist bloc 'turn and burn' style business run by a guy who looks like he's been awake 30 hours on caffeine and cigarettes somewhat charming? Honestly, I do, and that dude is a trip to talk to. But if you haven't gone into a medical facility outside of North America or Europe you might find this place uncomfortable. This is not a place for excellent customer service, for expensive artwork in the lobby, etc. It also has shitty billing. It may be worth your while to avoid this place if a few hundred bucks isn't worth that to you. In terms of the billing, many reviews are mentioning that they paid out of pocket like I did. It would have been about $150 more for me to go through insurance and I'm nowhere close to hitting my deductible. If you choose to go this route, here's what you should keep in mind. 1. DON'T complete any insurance paperwork. There will be some in the standard stack of paperwork they give you but why provide it if you're not using it? They can't accidentally also run through insurance if they don't have that information. 2. You will complete a document stating how much you owe and how much you might pay as part of a payment plan. KEEP THAT DOCUMENT. Mine also mentions that it is an estimated amount...until they have insurance review it. If insurance doesn't review it, there should be no reason that this amount should change. This document is countersigned by the secretary. 3. I received a bill from the third party they have doing their billing for about 1k more than I agreed to. Did I pay that? HELL NO. Do not hand your cash over if you know it's wrong. I called this billing co and they explained that when payments are made without insurance, that lower amount is an adjustment made at the facility from what the usual amount is (probably because the Insurance Company presets the amounts higher so that they can recoup some of the cost from you). The third party billing place said that they would contact the facility to confirm that there should have been an adjustment on the numbers they sent to billing. Billing will be calling me back next week to (hopefully) confirm this. Moral of the story: -Don't hand over insurance paperwork if you're not using insurance. -Keep the contract that DII gives you at the time of service. -When you get a bigger bill just call the billing company and explain the adjustment. -In general in life, don't hand over your money just because you get an official looking piece of paper. Do the billing issues suck? Sure, but they suck way more if you've already handed your money over and need to now get it back. Two stars because this place is cheap and has that quaint 'we run our MRI machines off a diesel generator' feel, but it'll drop to one star if I get yanked around by billing any more than I have been.

This place definitely gets a gold star for customer service!!!…read more I was scheduled for what I thought was a bone density exam but the technician was walking me to the lab for bloodwork. I asked I thought this was a bone density exam. After back and forth about the appointment the technician looked up my order and sure enough I was booked in the wrong section. She then proceeded to tell me that they normally don't take walk ins but I can ask. So the technician walked me to the correct office and sure enough I received the same canned statement. I then said I took the day off for this is there a way i can get in? The clerk went to the back and asked a technician and sure enough she said I can get fit in. All in all the procedure took about10 minutes. Way less time than to drive to the appointment and the hassle of figuring it out but it's done and all came out well. And I can't forget to mention about the great valet service I received as well. Top notch!!!

My spouse recently had major surgery at UCHealth Cherry Creek, which was also her very first…read moresurgery and exposure to general anesthesia. While some aspects of her care were excellent, our overall experience was deeply distressing due to the conduct of certain post‑operative nursing staff. First, I want to acknowledge the providers who delivered outstanding care. Dr. Bouchard was excellent: clear, thorough, and compassionate in both pre‑operative and post‑operative communication. The attending resident was likewise excellent, demonstrating strong clinical skill and a respectful bedside manner. These physicians gave us confidence in the procedure and took our concerns seriously. Unfortunately, the quality of care in the post‑operative area did not reflect the same standard. After surgery, my spouse was slow to wake from anesthesia and in excruciating pain. While she was still groggy and doing her best to communicate her pain, one of the nurses was noticeably impatient, dismissive, and appeared focused on the fact that it was near closing time rather than on my spouse's condition. When adjusting the bed, this nurse repeatedly moved the head of the bed up and down very quickly, causing my spouse to scream in pain. There was no apparent attempt to pause, slow down, or modify her approach in response to my spouse's obvious distress. A second nurse was also rude and unhelpful until one of the anesthesiologist helped my wife. At a time when my spouse was barely emerging from anesthesia and struggling with severe pain, this nurse asked, "I don't know what else to do for you, what else is going to help you?" The burden was effectively placed on a post‑operative patient, rather than the nurse using her clinical expertise to assess, problem‑solve, and advocate for appropriate pain management and supportive measures. It was especially alarming that this nurse then suggested that my spouse might need to be transported by ambulance and admitted to a hospital, framed in a way that felt more like a threat or a way to move her out of the recovery area than a thoughtful clinical recommendation. From a patient‑centered care and safety perspective, this experience was unacceptable. My spouse was vulnerable - just out of surgery, in severe pain, and slow to wake from anesthesia, yet she was made to feel like an inconvenience. The tone, rushing, lack of empathy, and apparent prioritization of closing time over patient comfort and safety were completely inconsistent with the standard of compassionate care we expected from UCHealth. If we had known this was how the post‑operative nursing care would be handled, we would have requested a different facility. Patients undergoing major surgery, especially for the first time, deserve nurses who are clinically competent, patient, and empathetic, and who respond to pain and delayed emergence from anesthesia with professionalism and care - not frustration, dismissiveness, or implied pressure to leave because it is near closing time. I would strongly encourage UCHealth to review staffing, training, and culture in the post‑operative area at this location, to ensure that other patients and families do not have to endure the same experience.
