I did EMDR…read morefollowing a car accident with Cheryl and talk therapy with another Therapy Evolved therapist. I found both to be helpful and compassionate. However in January 2026, about 6-7 months into our working relationship, our area experienced a terrible snowstorm where we lost electricity for over 24 hours and a state of emergency was declared. I texted Cheryl the night before my appointment to let her know that I was unsure if I could make my telehealth appointment as my phone was running out of battery and I had no internet service. After this, I was charged the $150 cancellation fee because I did not give 72 hours notice. I know the response will be that I signed the cancellation policy and that is accurate. However, I would expect there to be some common sense injected into the process. We are humans after all and it was an act of god that caused me to miss the appointment. In addition, early in our relationship Cheryl needed to cancel an appointment as she needed emergency surgery. I told her no problem. I suppose that I'm owed $150? Or at least the same consideration and understanding I offered her? So, if nothing unexpected ever happens in your life or you are wealthy, this may be a great fit for you. Otherwise, I cannot recommend Therapy Evolved unless they reconsider their handling of cancellations.

This Cheryl who owns the place, said she could set me up with a Bethany that is who I originally contacted. I gave my insurance card ...she accepted it. She sets me up with Bethany, I saw Bethany twice...was contacted by Cheryl after that and told she was gone. She proceeded to tell me a Kaitlyn would take me. Well if you look at their website there are only two of them anyway including the owner. Kaitlyn canceled literally 10 mins after I was supposed to see her...then I saw her once...she then had a family emergency...and there was no inclination that they were going to stop my insurance. I get an email last night saying it is too difficult to bill my insurance which is laughable bc no other drs I see ever used that excuse. Then they had the nerve to ask if I wanted to do self pay? Cheryl clearly can not keep employees...and I would not recommend this place to anyone. So disorganized as well ...

At first, the staff seemed friendly, but the business model quickly became clear: everything is structured around locking you into a time-period commitment (offered as 6-month, 1-year, 2-year, or even 3-year options). The pressure felt subtle but very calculated, and the costs weren't justified by the actual care. What ultimately pushed me to leave was realizing that I qualified for insurance coverage elsewhere--something their clinic, being in the industry, should reasonably recognize. Instead, I was led toward long-term paid commitments without being made aware of alternatives that could drastically reduce my out-of-pocket expense. The lab work they ordered was also surprisingly incomplete. Basic testosterone testing didn't include Free or Bioavailable Testosterone, which are extremely important markers for diagnosing and treating low T. I couldn't help wondering if this was due to cost cutting. Medication refills were another ongoing frustration. They would wait until I was nearly out of medication before approving the next refill. It created unnecessary stress when you rely on these medications for your well-being and stability. In the end, I transitioned to another clinic where my insurance covers treatment, the testing is far more thorough, and I don't feel like I'm navigating around sales tactics. Northeast Men's Health may work for some people, but based on my experience, the priorities felt more financial than medical. I recommend doing your homework and comparing options before committing to anything long-term.
