My husband and I had a 10 am Saturday appointment, unfortunately, to put our dog asleep. They are open every other Saturday we arrived about 10 minutes early the doors were locked and the lights off. We thought oh NO did we get the wrong Saturday our hearts couldn't take having to come back again. We called, but it just went to voicemail. The staff showed up when our appointment was scheduled to start at 10 am and Dr. Cougar arrived 15 minutes later. You can imagine how hard an appointment like this is and how timeliness is so important. After Dr. Cougar had arrived, there were no apologies for her tardiness she then had to set up for our appointment. Went didn't want to spend our last moments with our dog in the room waiting on Dr. Cougar to prepare for our appointment, so we stayed outside and let him roam in the grass. It was cold out, and the wait was very painful. I mentioned very briefly about the how long the appointment took before we left but again they didn't seem to mind. We had our beloved dog cremated so when I went back to pick him up. I said to the front desk I have some feedback as a first-time customer I would like to share. I told her how the appointment didn't start on time and how I would assume staff would show up 15 minutes earlier for the first appointment of the day so when the patient arrives you are ready. In the middle of my speaking the phone ring, she walked away to answer. I said are you going to answer that? She said I guess I can put them on hold and said that she has a meeting to get to. ( so pretty much leave lady I don't want to hear it) I was blown away at the lack of customers service and the dismissiveness. I'm a customer here in your place of business in the middle of a conversation I felt she should have shown me the respect and let it go to voicemail. Two seconds later Dr. Cougar walks down the stairs and says "don't tell me how to run my business" and walks into a room with a parent. I was shocked how rude and unprofessional Simmonds Veterinary Hospital is! Customer service is the most important thing to a company and to not value my feedback at all and actually become aggressive to me is very disappointing. I will never go back I will tell everyone I know about this and warn them to stay clear! They have no bedside manner; they are unprofessional and altogether rude! read more

The experience at Simmonds Veterinary Hospital is always excellent from the minute I walk in the door. The hospital is immaculate. Jess the technician is always pleasant, polite and knowledgeable. I am totally comfortable with Dr. Cougar. She is kind and compassionate. She takes time to listen to my concerns and I never feel rushed. I find her to be very competent and I feel that she provides exceptional medical and surgical care to my pets. I have 3 cats , and a dog that are in her care and I would never take them anywhere else . I referred a friend who has a snake and iguana.....to Dr. Cougar. My friend could not find a veterinarian that did exotics. He thought Dr. Cougar was wonderful and VERY knowledgeable. He also felt her prices were very reasonable for see his exotics. Dr. Cougar and her staff are fantastic and love animals dearly! I love that Dr. Cougar gives the whole picture of what considerations to make when dealing with which treatment to use, including what she would do if in the same situation. This way if you are a big spender for your pets, or on a budget, you can make an educated decision. Sadly, I have experienced having to say goodbye to a pet in their office. Dr. Cougar and her staff were so supportive and helpful. It helps that the atmosphere is so bright and uplifting that it reminds me more of care and renewal than loss. Dr Cougar is alway very professional and a fantastic Veterinarian, She goes above and beyond to take care of any questions and takes awesome care of my Samantha. Dr. Cougar is the best Vet that I have ever been too. I have a 5 1/2 year old Golden and she has been seen by Dr Cougar since I got her at 8 weeks old. Just took my dog there as a new client, because geographically they are much closer than where we were. It's a smaller practice, which I don't mind at all. The technician and Dr. Cougar were wonderful, thorough, and quick. My pup got what he needed, and we didn't have to stick around too long - which works well for him.
