We don't do unnecessary tests or procedures. We don't like being pushed to get vaccinations that aren't necessary. This place is just like that. Nothing was pushed. The vet agreed to not give him an unnecessary vaccination due to this age. We agreed to a panel of tests based on the urinalysis but the vet stepped us through each possible issue and made us feel at ease and there's no need for more testing or making any changes. We didn't like the small rooms or the office space but to get a vet we like makes that irrelevant. The staff was super. The vet also told us about the other vets so we know if he's not there, we feel comfortable enough to go to a different vet in the practice. Our little guy is 14 years old and was treated with care and knowledge. I got the name of this place on nextdoor.com but I confirmed what they all said on Yelp. We felt great seeing the complaint about how this place was during the covid crisis (on Yelp) and knew it was the right place to go :) . So, thanks Yelp users.

Time for an update…read more Sadly, our cat who was fairly healthy her whole life until very recently took a sudden turn for the worse. This while surprising on some levels was not on others seeing as she was approaching eighteen years old. I called the office on Thursday late and they squeezed us in right before closing time on Friday. I knew that this would likely be a waste of money but I figured that within reason we would do all we could. The prognosis wasn't good and the cat wound up dying the day after the appointment. While that could be the end of the story in some cases here it's not. Much to my surprise we got a very nice cat pin and sympathy card in the mail from the staff at Christmas City. While I suppose this might be an industry standard at some practices, at the last vet practice we used prior to Christmas City they did squat when a different cat passed a few years ago. Totally professional, totally emphatic and totally classy. Best vet practice in the area no question.

My experience with Hamilton Vet was, without question, one of the most frustrating and disheartening situations I've ever dealt with as a pet owner. In my personal opinion, they did not take my concerns seriously, no matter how many times I explained what was happening with my dog. It felt like they had already made up their minds before even examining her. What shocked me the most was the atmosphere -- in my experience, it felt like the vets and staff were more focused on backing each other up than on actually helping my dog. Every single time I pushed for answers, I felt like I was being talked down to or brushed aside. Instead of showing curiosity or concern, it felt like they were trying to convince me nothing was wrong, even when the symptoms were right in front of us. The most painful part? My instincts -- the ones they dismissed over and over -- turned out to be right. I walked out of Hamilton Vet feeling defeated, only to discover later that my dog did have a serious issue that absolutely needed treatment. That realization hit me harder than I can describe. It is something I will never forget, and I would never want another pet owner to go through what I went through there. In my personal opinion, based on my own experience, I would not trust Hamilton Vet with any pet of mine again. I would urge anyone reading this to pay close attention to your gut, advocate fiercely for your animals, and be prepared to seek a second (or third) opinion -- because you may not get the care or honesty you expect here. We should have learned from our first experience and avoided this place, but we didn't, and now we are in hell. Our sweet tabby had the procedure 3.5 days ago, and since he has come home, he has been hiding in the basement and refusing to eat, drink, or use the litter box. His pupils are extremely dilated, and he can't walk normally. They saw him again today and gave him subcutaneous fluids and an appetite stimulant, but even that has failed to work. They have told us repeatedly that this is "normal" and might continue for several more days. I wish we had never trusted them. Avoid this place like the plague.

She just talked over and at us, as if to prove she was the smartest one in the room. She's got quite a list of credentials, but empathy and kindness are not on the list. Part of the healing process is connection to the pet and their owner which never happened. I paid Valley Central over $1500 to be condescended to with no plan for care. Hard PASS on returning for care under this Internal Medicine provider.
