They are kind, empathetic, and patient. At the same time they are all professional and explain things as thoroughly as you would like (some people aren't into details). They don't get frustrated when you ask a lot of questions. All the veterinarian techs are the same way, clearly well educated and professional as well as friendly and kind. The front desk people are very easy to deal with too. The other thing I like is that the atmosphere is friendly, seems as though everyone gets along. I have been in other offices that are clearly just a business, in it for the money. This practice isn't like that. Highly recommend them. The scheduling practices reflect an excessively high utilization goal that forces the staff to rush and not provide appropriate care. Office manager and vets are unwilling to adjust their behavior to account for a dog that has been conditioned by their staff to be afraid of their office after Dr. Adolf was overly aggressive with wound care during 2 appointments. He is no longer permitted to see my dog, because we've learned that we can't trust him. The response to my request for adjusted appointment interaction has fallen on deaf ears, they've told me the only solution is to sedate my dog, and I have to pay for it even though they caused the issue (temperament scores through national testing bodies with 3rd party judges confirm this). They are good with physical treatment but completely oblivious to animal behavior and temperament.

Every single time I pushed for answers, I felt like I was being talked down to or brushed aside. Instead of showing curiosity or concern, it felt like they were trying to convince me nothing was wrong, even when the symptoms were right in front of us. The most painful part? My instincts -- the ones they dismissed over and over -- turned out to be right. I walked out of Hamilton Vet feeling defeated, only to discover later that my dog did have a serious issue that absolutely needed treatment. That realization hit me harder than I can describe. It is something I will never forget, and I would never want another pet owner to go through what I went through there. In my personal opinion, based on my own experience, I would not trust Hamilton Vet with any pet of mine again. Dr. Duffy is very knowledgeable and cares about the animals she treats. I relocated to PA a few years ago and needed a vet closer to my home than the one I brought pets to in NJ. I found that some animal hospitals in PA would provide my pets with an appointment a week or more after my initial contact. Some said they were not accepting new patients unless I was willing to wait a month or more for an appointment. When a pet is sick who wants to wait a month or even a week for treatment? In the past I brought some pets to Eastern Emergency Animal Hospital, a facility that is open 24/7. I found the staff there to be excellent and although this is a 24/7 animal hospital unlike RUSH the wait time upon arrival is unbelievable, often several hours. And the cost of treatment at Eastern is very high. Unless you need emergency animal care at 2 AM on a Sunday morning, you would be better off bringing your pet to RUSH in my opinion. Your pet will be seen faster than at Eastern and the cost will be lower as well. And finally, the care will be just as good if not better.
