Love FitStop 24! It's a newer gym in Jenison, buying out the previous Fitness 19 and faking a lot…read moreof their equipment (and moving locations across the street a bit). It has some upgrades from Fitness 19 though, including turf, which has been great. It's a "smaller" gym and doesn't have all the fancy amenities of something like a Planet Fitness, but it's constantly improving. Most notably, it doesn't currently have showers, which might be a deal breaker for some, but it does have lockers (bring your own lock) and rooms to change. When you first walk in, on your left you'll find cardio machines, including bikes, rowing machines, treadmills, elliptical, and stair climbers. There are also some weight machine, which you'll also find in the first section to your right, as well as a couple of cables machines and a mirror. The next little section has benches and a smith machine, plus free weights and a mirror. (One thing you won't find at Planet Fitness that we have- free weights past 60 lbs!!!! lol) The next area is the turf room, which has squat racks and another cable machine. The crowd that's there really depends on the time of day- until about 3, it's relatively empty, and a lot of the people who are there are in the older crowd. After 3, you start getting more of the typical gym bros and high schoolers, and it can get a little busy, but after 7ish it tends to die down a bit. The only qualm I really have with this gym is it's 24 hour, so you have to use your keycard to get in- and the scanner is FINNICKY. If it's not full sunshine, you're going to need to use your flashlight to have enough light for the scanner to actually read it. The good news is, if you can't get, usually someone will help you get in. (And it is really nice that it's 24 hours!)

Literally unstaffed. Good luck trying to get a return phone call from a "manager". The place is a…read moredisaster. Bathrooms are apocalyptically trashed, no toilet paper. No wash towels. Franchise owned by someone out of state, members enter through a key fob, essentially self-governed. And y'all know how good we are at that... People letting their friends in the front door, unbelievably poor management. Besides that, it's great.

I was a member of MVP Holland gym for a year before joining them as a lifeguard. From the start I…read moreloved the personal touches - Eucalyptus infused towels. Like my colleagues, I know almost every guest by first name. I get to look after closing the pool weekdays. I also have the pleasure of teaching swimming lessons for 3 month olds to adults. The building is a bit dated, but the locker rooms are new. I love the whirlpool, myself. It's helpful to have that and the dry sauna for recovery time after working out or spin class. There is an intimacy that you don't get at other local gyms.

I was paying $150/mo for my gyms in Tampa so your $85 with my company discount doesn't scare me. At all. I was prepared to sign a membership and grab a personal training package because being a Covid nurse has really thrown my fitness into a downward spiral and I've been trying to recoup on my own since I've moved to Holland. I have no qualms about prioritizing my fitness and I really enjoy the accountability of having a trainer, plus they have group fitness classes and I sure do love me some group training (ex Burn Bootcamp member. Someone please open a Burn in Holland. Please!) So I go in. The dude that checked me in was nice enough. I told him I signed up for a day pass. He said okay and enjoy your workout. Like OBVIOUSLY it's my very first time here. There are multiple floors and rooms to this place so I was pretty shocked when I asked where everything was that nobody offered me a tour. He just said "the locker room is downstairs" okay bro. Whatever. Needless to say that the indifference was noted and I'll be bringing it back to my work peers. Just because we get a corporate discount doesn't mean it's worth using. They have a great variety of equipment and different rooms, classes, etc but they have no interest in customer service. Holland people: DM me your favorite gym and why! I have a throwaway membership at PF for the time being and THEY'RE even nicer than MVP was and I'm seriously only paying $10 like wth.
