This review is for the hospital cafe. I've eaten at this cafe many times and usually get a breakfast burrito after I've completed my labwork - it's a very good treat as a reward for fasting since the night before. However, on this occasion, the breakfast special was corned beef hash, 2 eggs & toast (all for six bucks!) so I had to order it instead of my regular burrito. I was not disappointed. The plate of food more than filled me up... in fact, I probably could have ordered the half-size and been happy but you know how it goes when you haven't eaten since the evening before. Eyes bigger than the stomach, you know. No, the corned beef hash was not house-made but it was still good. The sourdough toast was perfectly buttered and the two eggs were perfectly scrambled. Add a bit of Tabasco sauce (available in the little packets) and overall, my breakfast hit the spot. Hit ALL the spots. Service is with a smile, food is hot and filling, coffee is free, and seating is usually available. This little cafe is a nice addition to the hospital experience. read more

It is now mid August 2025 and My sister is still receiving care for her bowel obstruction bursting at Silverton. She now has dialysis three time a week. She never needed it before the bowel rupture. She now has an ileostomy. This happened In December of 2024. In stead of calling hospitals until they found one who could accept her they waited. You can not wait. She isn't even home yet. She was in intensive care for months. Now she in a care center and working on building strength to walk. It's in my opinion Pathetic that a hospital would let this happen. read more

In August 2024, I went in for a routine annual mammogram. The day I was there, no one was at the hospital to read the results. The next day, when someone WAS there, they wanted two more pictures from different angles. So I went back in. Same room, same technician, same machine. A month or so later, I got a $600+ bill. Apparently, when I went in the second day for two more pictures, that visit was coded not as part of my mammogram the day before but as a whole different thing that would not be covered by insurance. Many phone calls later-- to the hospital, to my insurance company, to the billing agency--have resulted in the first mammogram I have ever had to pay for. In 45 years, I have always needed extra pictures. But I have never had to pay for it. I will not be going to Silverton Hospital again for a mammogram. read more

This is one of the best hospitals in Oregon I went in because I had a stomach problem. They found out that I had a gallbladder that needed to be removed. I was a Kaiser patient instead of me making me go to Kaiser. They call Kaiser made arrangements that they would take care of me and Kaiser would take care of the Bill. I was so pleased with this hospital that I will always love this hospital and as soon as I can get away from Kaiser, I will. I've been complaining about my belly hurting for over a month and Kaiser just told me it was a stomach flu so there you go. read more

The formal name for this institution is Legacy Silverton Medical Center. I believe it is closely allied with the Salem Health network. Anyway, when once I endured a long wait in the Salem ER, an efficient nurse told me that if I went to the medical center ERs in Dallas or Silverton, I would encounter less congestion. This certainly proved to be true. I have a chronic pain syndrome which is periodically triggered. I showed up at this ER in mid-day, was registered in minutes, and after less than five minutes of waiting, very civil nurses began to process me, taking vitals and looking up my charts online. They treated me well, and were generous with heated blankets (the clinic is kept at about 68 deg.). There was only one doctor on duty so after the nurses left, there was some waiting, but nothing like the waits in the Salem ER. The doctor, I didn't get his name, was not super insightful but the advice to use heat or ice, and in particular to use painkillers at much higher dosages than those suggested on the labels, was I believe right on. I took off one star for the parking being pretty tight, and while I was waiting I do not think I was hooked up to the monitors correctly. read more

We transferred here during labor from home and we were met by such wonderful people. Even though I did not birth how I desired I was so thankful for the care given to us. At a previous hospital I was made to feel pretty lousy when I cried over the loss of the birth I desired. At Silverton I was shown kindness and understanding. Highly recommend the midwives here and the wonderful nurses! If any of you read this- thank you so much, your kindness will always be remembered! read more

I got Covid 4 days ago and my symptoms were getting worse. My doctor told me to go to the ER cause I have chronic migraines and I felt very dehydrated. I did expect a long wait to see a doctor but I did not receive good care and after I told the doctor what was wrong with me he said, "it's Covid so it happens" and then told me to go home and sent me with Tylenol...so don't waste your time here and go to Salem hospital either in Salem or Dallas. They do not care about your health or your time, never going back. read more

I will say this once! DO NOT go to the Silverton Legacy ER unless you have another person advocating for yourself. My husband was brushed aside and dismissed and sent home with no relief of symptoms, OR a diagnosis. If I had been able to be in the back with him(I wasn't allowed because we had our 6mo EBF baby with us, even though there were younger babies back there), I would have been advocating for him and asking all the "right" questions. Very disappointed in the doctor(Jeffrey Hemstreet, MD) and the nurse(no idea what her name was, but stating over and over that she had the flu while at work is extremely unprofessional -not to mention STUPID on her part). My father in law was right, Silverton's ER is a shitshow. read more

I was seen at Silverton Hospital for a Heart problem in the ER. I was treated with respect and care the ER Doctor was Jesse Bohrer-Clancy whom did all the test needed to make a diagnosis, The nurse I had was Connor who took my blood on the first try, that never happens. I had surgery on 5/17 and out on the 5/18, room #127. I just wanted to make the time to commend the nursing staff that took excellent of care of me. They were professional and had excellent bed side manners. I am sure, I will leave one or two out, but these names stand out in my mind: Meredith, William, Peggy, Kaylee, Will, and Shane. I wholeheartedly want to thank these nurses for going beyond the call of care! read more

Tonight, the night before surgery, Silverton legacy called to say MODA would not cover the surgery and they needed $30,000. WHAT! The ER charged me nearly $2000 for 4 stitches which turned out to be $1000 after insurance. Probably could have put super glue in it and been fine. This procedure should have cost $500 at most regardless of it being an ER visit or not. I also came to find out that if I had paid out of pocket it would have been half that price, but I was never told that option. When your lymph nodes are so swollen and ER dr Robert Hallstrom neglected to give me patient centered care. I am in excruciating pain and sat at hospital for 4 hours . I have lupus as well and I was treated very badly and I tried to get some antibiotics for my throat and said er Dr hung up on me! Very Rude indeed! I am not going to be quiet until Something is done about it and meanwhile I'm still suffering with swollen lymph nodes!!!!! Medical Inequality!!!!! Or he's just a rude person! read more

My wife checked in at 11:57 pm. Billed those 3 minutes as a whole day essentially billing us 2 days for a few hours. All my co-pays are now doubled. Had we known we could have saved hundreds in out of pocket expense by waiting 3 minutes we would have gladly done it. Billing department couldn't care less. Customer service is obviously not a priority. The Administrator needs to reevaluate their vision for this facility. Piss poor all the way around. read more

Ive had 2 surgeries here ( a diagnostic laparoscopy turned removal of endo lesions and a polypectomy and hysteroscopy) as well as given birth to my 2 children in the birth center in 2008 and 2012. I can not recommend this facility enough. I have always been treated with care and kindness during my stay from nurses and doctors (I havent always been creazy for my receptionists and such but thats not the care that truly counts). I have reviewed my doctor already, dr. Denis Dalisky, so I will rate accomodations here. Both surgeries I was out the same day and treated with kindness and care from the staff. I was explained completely what was being done at all times andthe food was great. I wasnt rushed and I was listened to and taken very seriously. With my children I stayed 3 days with both, for medical reasons. At no point did they stray into c-section territories, but always made sure I was informed and up to date on my babies progress. The nurses were all kind and motivating and helpful (one did answer a few too many of my nervous husbands questions i didnt want answers to. who needs to know an average first birth takes 90 minutes to push?!) The food was FANTASTIC and quickly made and brought to me and they bring in a massage therapist to give you a little relaxation after the birth. They also offer 30 days of included lactation support through their B.A.B.I.E.S. clinic which helps you to get nursing off on the right foot. when I experienced a couple bumps, I was able to visit them 6x in that 30 days and they helped me to get nursing started the way it should. Having those lactation consultants was incredible (insurance now covers lactation visits for most women, and this was before then, but it was amazing!) I strongly recommend Janet or Teryl if you have breastfeeding goals. they will help you greatly! I absolutely want to deliver my third child there, and any gynecological care will be done there as well! read more

Excellent service provided to a dear friend of ours who seemed to be having a stroke after we finished lunch in downtown Silverton. Everyone was great - the EMS, the Fire Dept, and the ER nurses and doctors. The only unimpressive thing was the flaky on-call 'Valley Girl' Neurologist who did her exam via TV. Kudos to Silverton Hospital for possibly saving our friend's life! read more

I visited the emergency room for a relatively minor concern. I was treated with kindness and respect by everyone from the intake person to the nurses and doctor. The doctor diagnosed me without expensive testing, prescribed treatment that worked. All this took 90 minutes. read more

What a joke of a medical group the whole legacy system is. I will never recommend any friends or family use legacy. We have been sent for numerous unnecessary tests they have horrible bedside manner and don't seem to keen on communication with patients or each other read more

I used the ED services on 8/22/20, and am so thankful. Covid screener, was great, offered w/c services. Check in was fast, helpful, offered w/c. Triage RN was great, gave me info I still am using, efficient, helpful. Bedside RN was fantastic, so helpful, kind, compassionate. CT tech's careful, very thoughtful and kind as well as quick. Dr was thorough, kind, helpful and gave me the knowledge of what to expect, that actually prevented me from another medical visit. I am so very thankful for every single person that helped me and their kindness. Total visit door to door was 2.5 maybe 3 hours, for which Dr apologized for, but I felt was fast and thorough. read more

Went to this ER for help with a pinched nerve in my lower back. Dr Newton took time to draw pictures and explain everything to me about my back. Something nobody else has ever done. I was uneducated and been having this pain for over a month. I thought one thing was odd....that the only time I don't have pain is when I go to bed but he told me to take them at bedtime. This hospital is completely unprepared for serious pediatric support. Infants and children who have serious needs will find it challenging to gain proper support. We've been thru the ER multiple times with our child. Please hire a pediatric ER Dr or nurse at least on call for specialized support, your community is in dire need. I know Legacy runs Silverton Health now and I'm curious if the transition will aide in extra training and support for staff. read more

I had a mammogram done and ended up having a biopsy. The place the doctor biopsied was different from where he first indicated it would be done. The hospital admin. attempted to explain why the biopsy was done in a different place, and did have another doctor double check it free of charge, but the reasoning for the change in the first place was still never clearly explained. The fees from the hospital were astronomical, over $2,000 just for the facility charge, then all of the services on top of that. read more

I came to the Silverton ER because the last time they were able to get us in and out in under an hour. I came because my brother had a tourn his stitches from a past surgery he had less than a month prior, we wait 2 hour to see the doctor that was on call. Over all we spent 4 hours to get stitches. He had a cut 5 inches long and over a half of an inch deep. We could almost see bone. They didn't see that as a priority or a major injury even though he was bleed threw the pad wrapped around the wound. I left to go get a bottle a water and nurses just sat at there desks talking rather then taking care of patcients. The nurses in the front where completely rude. As I left to go get a bottle of water and they refused to let me back into see him. They said it was for security purposes but allowed other people go back with no issues. The doctor took 45 extra minutes to get the stitches put in and acted as if this was a part time job for him. The time I spent in the waiting room until my bother was done, every staff member talked and drank coffee. I would never recommend coming here. If you walk in and see more then one person or group of people waiting just stop and turn back around until you have time to waist. You won't find a worst ER aside from the Salem ER. Save the time and travel to they Stayton ER. They know how to treat people. It's just unfortunate I had to learn the hard way when it came to family getting the help they need. read more

This review is for my experience at the ER on the evening of 4/20/18. I received excellent care from every single person working in the ER. Check-in took 5 minutes. Wait time to see triage/admitting nurse was 5 minutes! The triage nurse (did not get her name) was efficient, caring, and empathic. Once in the back room, the RN, Stephanie, was also wonderful and professional. Matthew, who drew my blood, was adept, quick, and friendly. Dr. Klug was my doctor. He was genuinely concerned for my well-being, and was efficient, professional, and patient. Danielle performed an ultrasound, which went smoothly with only minor discomfort. She is also kind, caring, and adept at her job. Thank God all my test results came back normal. I was sent home after spending approximately 3 hours in the ER. I couldn't be more grateful and thankful for the wonderful people working at Silverton ER. You're in good hands at this facility. read more

I had to get a surgery, my doctor said we will be going to silverton hospital. I was very nervous. I got on and the doctors made me feel at home, they were nice, loving, and caring. They did an amazing job on my surgery. And after I woke up, I was mean confused, and wormy. They even made me breakfast. They also provide Medicean and anti-biotics. This was a great experience and I would come here again. This hospital requires a 5star rating! read more
