The space feels tense and overly monitored, creating an uncomfortable training environment rather than a supportive one. Interactions between the owner and members are of confrontational as seen and experienced. In turn makes routine workouts feel stressful instead of productive as you are always being watched and judged. There is also a significant gap between the extremely positive online reviews and what many members experiencing day to day. Which raises questions about how accurately those reviews reflect the gym's culture. With talks of free memberships and "prices" in return. A gym should feel welcoming, respectful, and focused on fitness. Unfortunately, this location appears to fall short, and many people may be better served choosing a different facility. As a single man, the way I have been spoken to and treated is NOT acceptable and, I admit, I don't go in for pool or board or card games, where the men seem to congregate. I frankly don't think the city-sponsored senior center in North Salem is doing any better; how we treat the vulnerable in our society is an ongoing problem.

It's in a bit of flux though, as it appears to be going through an ownership change (there's some "sold" signs on about half the equipment.) McMinnville is about halfway between Portland and the coast, so it's nice to have a complete gym when you have a stopover. Highlights of the gym include a full set of dumbbells, with a solid mirror situation, a complete set of the white boxy frame machines/plate loaders (solid mix of hammer strength, life fitness, etc) a full locker room with a steam room and showers. The atmosphere is encouraging with machines all around, friendly people, and the loud bumpin' music. There is definitely a sense of family in this gym.
