Twice in my life I have had two dogs both with injuries to their backs for different reasons. We live in a rural area and my one elderly dog ran to run after a rabbit she jumped off the porch and didn't clear it she was a small heinz 47 dog that had a long back. She never would have hurt the rabbit just wanted to run with it. She ran aside them before. She didn't clear the porch and her back was broken. I had to make a stretcher to get her to our vet. Our vet was excellent but said she had to be put to sleep. I took her to 3 other well respected vets that said the same thing. Then I was so desperate I called a mobile vet. I never heard of I didn't want to lose this beautiful loving dog. She said the same thing best to put asleep. I said please isn't there something can be done. She told me she doesn't know if it could work but she is hearing acupuncture may do what they can't do. She told me she didn't know of any but maybe I could find one. I did it was a small ride and the doctor there looked at her x rays and treated her gave me two different kinds of medicines and told me to try to keep her still so we put a fluffy comforter down and fenced off a small hall way with pee pee pads. He set an appointment to see her again in a week we bought her for another treatment and in a week after that (2 total weeks) she was standing and getting about a little but it was obviously working. We went for one more acupuncture treatment. Some medicine and Elfie recovered her back had a noticable bend to it but she returned to walking again and eventually running. I thought it was a true miracle. She lived happily walking and running, giving and getting love for another few years. Then a decade later I got a puppy that was 1/2 cane corso and went from a baby to 80 pounds always healthy always agile. Went to bed healthy and when we woke up she couldn't stand she didn't have the use of her 2 back legs. There was no yelping or screaming and it seemed crazy how could this happen. My husband carried her into the car and to the vet's where the vet did an x-ray and found she had bad spondylosis that never until that morning ever even show any visible discomfort to her with walking, running, never limping or anything till that morning where out of the blue she couldn't move her legs. The vet told us we could try surgery that would be at the very least $10,000 and might not work or put her to sleep. I told the vet I didn't want to do either I shared the story of our Elfie and said I'm going to see if that acupuncture vet is still there. We carried her into his office he treated her and using a sling she was able to stand & walk using only her front legs, but wouldn't be able to without the assist. The next week we still used the sling but it was apparent one of her legs resumed some strength. We took her for a few more visits and she no longer needed a sling she was able to walk again on her own. I never believed in acupuncture but now whenever I see a dog who may be put down I try to advise people there is a very good chance of hope I have seen 2 miracles in my lifetime of 2 beautiful dogs that would have had their lives ended by what is considered the best of care. The doctor's name is Dr. Johnson, My Dog is a Great Dane named Prince. I strongly advise against bringing your pets to this veterinarian at Silverhorn Veterinary Clinics . My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. After my dog's ear surgery to have them cropped, we faced severe complications, including excessive bleeding and pus oozing from the bandages. Despite being scheduled for a follow-up, they canceled our appointment three times after we already arrived. This was not only frustrating but also wasteful, as the clinic is 35 minutes from my house. When I expressed my concerns to the doctor, his staff became rude and belligerent. Then Dr. Johnson himself came out with an attitude and sarcastically asked if I wanted gas money back, yelling and creating a scene. Shockingly, he even brought me to the back of his office, he aggressively pulled a ‼PLACENTA‼out of the trash, and held it inches from my face, claiming he had more important things to deal with. Even though I was offered to come to the back, after Dr. Johnson showed me the ‼PLACENTA‼I asked him how dare you show me something like that in this manner, one of his staff members A female Spanish lady, maybe Puerto Rican between the ages of 25 and 30 And has tattoos on her arms, and works the front desk, a little on the heavier side, Literally put her hand on the back of my shoulder and shoved me out the door. I had to tell her if I wasn't such a good person I could've slapped her on the face. For self-defense or pressed charges on her. After I mentioned that I would be leaving reviews, they attempted to placate us in the following week but never offered a genuine apology. Two months have passed since my dog's surgery, and he now has a large hole in the back of his ear due to improperly placed pin ups. Mind you his ears were cropped improperly and uneven. Dr. Johnson and his staff are rude and careless. Now all they're going to do is tell us we have to pay for more antibiotics and pain medicine. I urge everyone to avoid this clinic at all costs. Once again, Dr. Johnson and his staff are very rude, belligerent and speak as if they are uneducated. The staff is seemingly ghetto with their attitudes. Now that I have posted these pictures, you see that this is the problem that they caused. Today is Sunday so I have to take him back in the morning on Monday to show them what they did. If they deny my animal because of this review, I will be surely filing a lawsuit. And I see that they like to tell people that they don't have these animals on file after they leave a complaint, that will be fine with me. Dog was sick. Called and got same day help. He's about 90lbs Bully. No fear from anyone. Which was unlike some other experiences. 10 min wait and seen by doctor. She was sympathetic of my guy who was quite nervous. Given 2 options on test neither were outrageous. Sent home with meds with a 2 week follow up. Found my place. This clinic was recommended to me by our dog sitter for my two older morkies when we moved to the area a year ago, and had appointments scheduled with Kelly Pyle, DVM. I have seen Dr. Pyle give my male dog the best exam in all my years (many) of owning dogs. She explains everything in a way I can understand and really does listen to any concerns I have about my babies' health. The staff is always cheerful and friendly. During the corona virus, their appointments are scheduled from the parking lot check-in, and dogs (animals) are brought in individually for the exam. Dr. Pyle came out personally to discuss a situation and how to proceed, with a deadline of Friday for improvement or additional treatment. Today I had an appointment for an AI, and when I showed up and I was trying to ask him questions about my dog, she told me to leave without explanation. She was rude. Customer service was disgusting. I try to ask for the manager she told me that she was the manager and when I asked for Corprate's information, she refused to give it to me. I'm calling and asked her to email it to me. I still have not received it. I want to make it a point that this is not how you talk to customers. This is not how you talk to clients. This is not how you talk to people. Crazy Expensive. Reproductive department never returned my calls. I'm willing to pay higher prices, if I'm getting better service. This was not the case. Vet was super nice on the reg side, but I went there only to get access to the reproductive side, which never panned out. I wouldn't recommend this Vet to anyone. Today was my first time going to this vet and my last time. I was getting a PG done on my Frenchie. Kelsey was my vet and easily got frustrated because my dog was moving, she stabbed my dog multiple times with the needle in the neck and was chocking her with the leash until my dog started foaming out the mouth and eventually lose consciousness for a few seconds. I know that vets have a job but Kelsey was disrespectful and unprofessional. I recommend to help her hold the dog so it would calm my dog down so she could do the Pg and she told me "no sense you are going to tell me how to do my job get the Fuck out and go next door to get a refund". read more

I brought my dog for a test, and they where getting frustrated that my dog wouldn't stop Moving because she was nervous and when I offered to help hold still they told me "if I'm Not the one holding her then nobody is" and then proceeds to grab my dog by her chain and pull it so tight my dog is gasping and foaming out the mouth, and I understand a vet is supposed to do her job but this wasn't a vet doin her job this was a frustrated person dealing with a dog that moves and it's the vet.... I should be on the payroll with the amount of work I had to do to get this office to refill prescriptions. The last straw was calling for a refill on a Tuesday, then Thursday and now Friday for my dogs Lasix that he ran out of YESTERDAY and was just told that he needs to come in for bloodwork before they can be refilled. If this office had any clue what they were doing, they would have scheduled this with his last refill and let us know it wouldn't be refilled until he had it done, but instead they think it's ok for a dog with cardiomyopathy and CHF to go without their Lasix for days before we can get into the office? They waited for me to call on day 3 to give me this message as well? This was their mistake and not ours, but it's my dog who has to deal with the consequences. Fur parents BEWARE. read more

Rough and callous with handling... very weird commentary... the moment you seek info she takes it personal, she barely tries to do her job& I see others have tried to offer to comfort their dog as I did just to be told "you think you can do my job better than I" well yes with your minimal effort & lack of care of course it seems help was needed... aside from making weird sexual comments about my dogs saying they are like two children having sex for the first time... she immediately acted insulted when asked for info on how to work with my dogs to get them more comfortable with breeding & asked about supplements for my stud that may help with his sperm... told we were insulting her intelligence over a question looking for info.... Please don't use them for fertility they are horrible. All they do is charge you for constant xrays and progesterone, Dailey almost, I lost 3 litters with them. 1 he let my female go over with 3 pups I asked for a c section was told no. Until 2 pups finally died inside other was close, then was charged over $3000 for an emergency c section only to have the last pup die. My other female had 10 beautiful pups they aloud her to go 72 days from last breeding. I kept begging to take them only to keep paying for xrays and progesterone I told them these puppies will over cook. Oh no they will be fine, she finally started having them on day 72, out of 10 only 3 lived. Sent Dr. Gerry a picture not even a I'm sorry. Girls have zero personality. I have finally found 2 great vets. Please message for much better prices, there v sections are $1500 not $3000. Hiway robbery with deadly results for you babies. Truly the best Vet I have ever had for my dog. They are 40 minutes from home, but well worth the trip. If you view your pet as a member of the family and want them to have the best, top notch medical care, then this is the vet for you.
