He only worked on my child 1 time in the 3 yrs. we have been going there. At that time she was new & having a painful procedure being done. When she said it was hurting he told her to quit complaining & that she was being a baby. Then he told her to go sit with her mommy. Once you sign a contract with them you are locked in. I had paid way ahead & had been a model customer. We missed a couple payments & he went after us. Instead of charging us a service charge or late fees, he doubled what we owed. So instead of only owing $700 more at the time, we then owed $1400. On top of it he refused work to my child until it was paid in full. Mind you I had already paid approx. $6000 to this hellhole. Once paid I decided to research this place. He & his partner own around 7 offices in the area raking in millions in each. From what the hygienists tell us they are not paid squat for the work they do. The receptionists are fake as hell. Kissing your ass the whole time. The dentists drive lamborghinis & jags, live in mansions with their music rooms & movie rooms, wear only the finest clothing & jewelry & flaunt this right in front of everyone. I guess when he stole the extra money from us he needed it for some more toys. Not like I needed it for my family. I apparently am not the only one to feel this way. More than once we have had to wait for our appointment due to a parent screaming at this orthodontist & how he conducts himself. Whatever you do, do not go here. Go anywhere else, just not here. You'll be sorry, just like me.

Then a couple years later as a 17 year old I had to get braces once again because new spaces and a crooked tooth has formed where a permanent retainer was. They told me two months and have only continued to push the time back. I am now going to have braces for prom and graduation which he promised me i would not. One of the lady's who helped him noticed I was upset and when I walked away was talking to another lady about me as they both continued to stare. Nightmares on Randolph…read more The experience with this dentist was deeply disappointing. The building is shiny and new, but that's where the dazzle ends. Their service, care and billing are atrocious. Chanbo also recommends unnecessary treatments; which provides cash flow for the new building, but superfluous, and depleting for you and your family. Unfortunately, the substandard treatment doesn't stop there -- Employees have had to bring lawsuits to be paid for their contracts. I brought my kids here for cleanings, which was my first mistake. The hygienist even attempted to bully me into fluoride treatments which I don't want for my family. My second mistake was allowing Chanbo Sim to provide orthodontic care for my 9 year old. He doesn't personally perform any orthodontic care or personally inspect any orthodontic work -- he has hygienists performing orthodontics. It was a huge red flag for me that he never showed up in the office during ortho appointments. Shortly after the initial treatment, both expanders fell out of my son's mouth. Our new orthodontist said this should never happen and he could have choked. He also added that he didn't need the expanders and doesn't need phase 1 ortho treatment. I should have ran then, but I didn't. I'm currently upset with myself for allowing this to go on, because after they replaced the expanders, they stopped working; when turning the appliance, the pin would just go round and round. I told this to the office and they said indeed, it is still widening his mouth. Anyone with a basic level of understanding would know that if there is no tension on the turn, then it is not expanding his palate. It was at this point that I stopped the care and went to a real orthodontist who revealed that they have heard of issues with this office. Please see the 1 star reviews on Google for this location along with his other location in Merrillville, "Family Dental Care." The reviews show a consistent poor level of care and service. Visit at the risk of your own health.

Billing department can't figure out if they have charged you or not and their bill pay system that…read morethey had would allow you to pay for your bill and was told that they had issues with the payment system that they had. Come to find out that they sent me to collections and still took the whole amount instead of what I owed! Now again, I got a bill for the same amount that they took out of my check! Such a scam! Even talked to the "billing" department and they confirmed that the amount I owed was less than half before them getting it from my check.
