I asked my oldest one what did he like the most about this park and he said there were lots of people and size, it was a big one. I noticed it was pretty well maintained and neat. It is located just next to Train museum and 3 min away from children's museum. The only thing, what made us driving around is gps, when I picked Whistle playground it took me to the wrong destination, on another side of street, when I changed it to whistle park, it brought me to the correct location.

I'd recommend keeping an extra close eye on your children, your surroundings, belongings, and also check the bathrooms before you allow kids in them. The park is amazing and it's evident that it's a true labor of love to have built it and maintain it. I do hope this issue is addressed as several men came out of the bathrooms with sheets and backpacks and the aroma of marijuana all through the park was overwhelming.

Holy cow. How does this place not have more reviews? My husband and I camp frequently, but were…read morenervous trying this park out without many reviews. So glad we went ahead and came! BEST shelter and park we have been to yet. We are extremely impressed! We rented shelter #5, it overlooks the lake and is across the way from the bathrooms, huge plus (I love camping, but don't hover well haha). The restrooms were so so, nothing special, but better than peeing behind a tree. Same goes for the showers, nothing special, but I loved that they were private, offered hot water, and had a little sink in the stall. The shelter itself was amazing! We have never been to a park where the shelters have tarps to cover the screened areas. You can tie them up or lock them down, perfect for privacy or blocking out the wind on cold nights. We also brought a lock to lock the shelter while we were away, but with multiple gates to get to the shelters we felt very safe. We came in late and left early, so we unfortunately did not get a chance to interact with the park host or other employees. But they were very friendly and helpful when I called asking for information. Overall I am very impressed, I don't think I can express that any more clearly. We will definitely be back and are already looking at our calendar! We need to get our canoe out here!

It is also dog friendly. Pretty much dirt trails, so after rains, it can get muddy, but we are in Texas, so that only happens occasionally. You can get several miles in on the various trails. Others are friendly and willing to point you in the right direction. I've been here a couple of times now and enjoyed both times. I do recommend hiking with someone else in case of emergencies. You never know when you might come across a snake, so be safe!

Park with activities for everyone…read more Ample parking. There's a trail that encompasses the park with fitness stations throughout. Picnic areas dispersed as well if you're having a get together. Very tempting playground. In fact, I even tested it out - small climbing wall and twirly slide passed my inspection. A child on a bike arrived shortly after. I promptly left as if I didn't just go "weeeee" on the slide. There's also a nice splash pad and skating area which I thought were cool. In one area, there's a pond with some ducks. Then there's a soccer field close to the cemetery. Oh yeah, there's also a cemetery which I think is a bit weird in terms of city planning. But hey, I guess that doesn't stop people from coming and enjoying a nice park.

We play some Pokémon, grab ourselves a coffee at the nearby Starbucks, which is walking distance or even Whataburger, from across the street and go eat at the park. There's plenty to do and places to grab food, just a walk away. Lots of Amazing people we have met on our walks plus they have a fab playground and community garden. During the warmer months, a pool to spend time on this hot Texas days with kiddos. It's also a fabulous PET FRIENDLY PARK! Basketball area, huge pond with ducks, a pavilion and a plethora of seating areas! Trees to cool you down. Along the walking path are little workout areas with equipment.
