    I don't even know where to start. I thank God I no longer live here. This place was a nightmare. I would give it negative stars if I could. First we were forced to "move in" to a dirty apartment. We were told we had to pay the deposit and first months rent by the 26 (we wanted to move in on the first) because they could no longer hold the apartment. The apartment was not ready the day we got our keys. We went upstairs to our apartment and there where workers still working on it, we were told it would be done by the afternoon. We returned the next day. The walls were dirty, the shower drains were clogged with hair. I had to clean and scrub everything. They had an insect problem. We kept our apartment clean. Washed dishes every day and took out the trash daily but we still would get multiple giant Roaches and ants. The ants would come from the attic (we lived on the upstairs apartment) I called the office multiple times to have them spray the apartment. They only came once and told me they couldn't spray uptop only on the floor. It didn't help. The vent from the Masters bathroom started to leak. We had to put a trashcan on the floor to catch all the water. I once again started calling the office over and over again. It wasn't until one day my bathroom flooded and I slipped. Went to the office and started yelling at them that I would sue that they actually came to look at it. They should of fix the leak and remove the drywall and replaced it but they didn't. They fixed the leak and told me they would come back once the wall was dry. After 2 days they came back and just plastered over the damaged wall. I'm sure there is mold growing. It was time for us to move out. I cleaned the apartment spotless (way better than how I received it) we shampooed the carpets and we went it to turn in our keys. One of the maintenance guys did our walk through ( he didn't even check it) we were in and out of the apartment in a minute and he said all was fine. We had given them a $900 dollar deposit ( 450 was there usual deposit but because we had "bad credit" they asked for $900) I asked the office manager when we would get out deposit back and she said " if you get any of it back it will be after 6 weeks to your forwarding address". 6 weeks after that I get a bill dated April 11, 2017. They kept our whole deposit of $900 plus stated we needed to pay an additional $253.42. The charges are ridiculous and it was incorrect they stated I owed them a parcial rent charged of "162.26" which I had already paid. There was also a "shampoo carpet" charge of $630.23 I called them again. Advised them I had already paid the rent charge and that I didn't understand how shampooing the carpet cost $630.23 ( we had shampooed it our selves) . Was they actually had to "replace" the carpet and that it was a typo, that the Shampoo Carpet charge should of said Replace Carpet. Was told I would get a corrected invoice. On April 25, 2017 I got another INCORRECT invoice. They removed the parcial rent fee but INCREASED the Replace Carpet ( Shampoo Carpet ) fee from $630.23 to now $758.92 WHY?!!! I started calling again. Wondering why it all of a sudden changed but this time never got a response. I got tired of calling and let it go. Now they have sent us to collections! These people have some Nerve! They are crooks! They kept our whole deposit but they are not getting another single dollar from us. If you live here and are planning on moving out. DO NOT CLEAN OR SHAMPOO YOUR APARTMENT. TURN IT IN DIRTY DONT BOTHER THEY WILL STILL CHARGE YOU FOR IT. They do not return your deposit at all and the invoice charges are ridiculous.

    If you can afford to live anywhere else, I would urge you to do so. These are not luxury apartments.

At first the manager who was on property was amazing and helpful at all times, but apparently is no longer there and now the new manager at this very moment, is utterly incompetent and rude. Here's why this place deserves zero or 1 star: The maintenance requests were often ignored or half-heartedly addressed. It took weeks for basic repairs, and even then, the manager would not answer my calls or questions upon requests of maintenance. Communication was horrible as we would try to reach to anyone in the management office was a joke. The main manager who I won't say her name was rarely available and never returned calls or emails promptly--if at all. The assistant manager who is fairly new does a better job at communicating. They promise amenities and improvements that never materialize. It's all just a facade to lure in unsuspecting tenants. Please be aware before applying that they will tell you one thing at first to sign and then won't help after. I've never felt so disrespected as a tenant. The main manager on property spoke down to residents and does not make enough effort to help us. The security of the complex is a joke. There were multiple instances of break-ins and vandalism, yet nothing was done to improve security measures. In summary, living at Villaggio was a constant source of stress and disappointment at the end. The new management is the epitome of unprofessionalism and neglect. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for a place to live.

Great starter apartments and affordable for when one needs to move in quickly. Maintenance gets 5stars they respond quickly to every single maintenance call. Rene in maintenance is a true professional. It is a Family orientated community with a elementary school across the street and quick access to I-10 freeway and Fred waring. Occasionally a weird walker by walking outside at odd hrs at night but that's Indio and everywhere else. Sometimes it's entertaining!! ‍ Great starter apartments. Neighbors are friendly. No roaches. Wood tiled floors through out. Clean. Pleasant environment. Angelica and her team are the best I've ever had, because they care about their job and keep their tenants happy as can be. There was even a pillow under the stairs for weeks where a homeless man had been living she had no idea of until I brought it up. Work orders took forever. She didn't live there and was part time. In a smoke free community she did nothing about kids smoking weed because "she hasn't seen them do it". There were always cigarette buds and empty bottles by the front gate. The worst was, she had a third company powering washing that ruined my patio furniture. I was never told or aware they'd be on my 2nd story patio right outside my window while I was sleeping in my room. I brought this to her attention and she said that she could reimburse me like 200 dollars. She never did that. A few days later I got a letter on a Friday right before she left for the weekend from her saying that I was unable to renew my lease / notice to vacate within 60 days. I had never so much as had an argument with a neighbor in four years. In fact I'd usually look after their apts or pets when they were gone. I was medically not able to move at the time due to things that occurred in and out of the military and had to worry about being displaced. Her reason for kicking me out was, "well you seemed unhappy here". I sat on things for weeks before ever bringing things to her attention. I have the audio in public of her admitting frankly, and a few conversations, that she did it because she thought I was giving her a hard time. When I did move out months later I gave her my forwarding address and was told I didn't have to pay anything on the way out, the unit was ok and that legally because of how long I'd lived there and how often they have to replace certain things I was good. Mv parents had to pay out of pocket on the final walk through and then she sent a bill in my name for 80 something dollars to collections affecting my credit. When I called she said that she tried to contact me. She never did. No missed call, no voicemail, no letter in the mail. During my stay there she would say to multiple people that she tried contacting them, that she sent a voicemail but she never did. This isn't the early 2000's where calls and voicemails just get lost. At times she was petty and spiteful. She was never kind and had distant business like rapport with the people living there. If she is still working there I wouldn't recommend living there. She doesn't have your best interests in mind. There also multiple people that left the community after years, like me, because of her. I am generally kind, never post reviews, and understand that every job has easy and challenging parts but this was more than anything should have to deal with.

Maybe she was totally unaware that that appointment had been made, despite the texts confirming it. Then she invites my friend and I into her tiny office with no mask on, only to tell me she can't show us any units, only the exterior, which we'd already shown ourselves. Completely wasted our time.
