This is the closest you will get to owning your own place, and it really feels like a "home". The rent price is a great value when compared to other similar apartment complexes near by. The amenities really are great. The gym is fantastic and has everything you need for a good workout, including multiple Peleton bikes, treadmills, free weights and cables. There are 2 pool areas and both are well kept. We have friends over often and always show off the main pool area and get cozy with the private cabanas and grills provided. It's very scenic with the palm tree collection and mountainous backdrop and makes for great photos. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the maintenance service is has a modern touch, as all requests are submitted directly from their website. Never a hastle, the front desk does a great job giving a courtesy call prior to the Maintenice guys coming and once here, they are very professional, well mannered and knowledgeable. This is a big one for me, as my last apartment the Maintenice was AlWAYS a drag! Special shout out to Antonio for always going above and beyond to provide great service. The City of La Quinta issued a Cease-and-Desist / Stop Work Order, yet management still charges full rent and utilities while part of our home remains sealed off under a mold-containment tent. We've received no lab results or proof that our unit is habitable, and communication from management has been nearly nonexistent. This is unacceptable and unsafe for any paying tenant. We are reserving all rights under California Civil Code § 1941.1 and § 1942, which require landlords to keep units habitable and give tenants remedies when they do not. Dont bother complaining to the management either, you'll be lucky to catch them in the office 2 out of the 5 days a week within the 2-3 hours that they show up. The management is super neglectful. You will reach out multiple for valid reasons to complain, just to get met with no answer and no resolution to the issue. It took multiple attempts of outreach for them to even "address" the issue just for then to follow up with nothing. Whats worse is that they claim they "read" your messages but dont bother to respond unless you follow up. I honestly love living here. This apartment has become my little sanctuary. I feel safe, comfortable, and at home here, and that peace of mind means more than I can explain. The Debra & Elizabeth in the leasing office have been wonderful from the beginning, including throughout my renewal. Even a quick conversation when I run into someone reminds me how kind and welcoming they are. Those everyday interactions make a difference. Our maintenance team deserves special recognition, too. They're amazing, and I really appreciate that it's been the same familiar faces since I moved in. There's a lot of comfort in knowing the people coming into your home. The space is another huge plus. My two-bedroom, two-bath apartment is approximately 1,300 square feet, and I absolutely love how roomy it is. I appreciate the gated community and the neighbors who help make it feel like home. Yes, there's dust--but that should be obvious! For me, that doesn't take away from everything I love about living here. A year later, I'm just as grateful to be here as I was when I got my keys. I was searching for my first official apartment as I prepared to move away from home and start my career. Since I was moving to the desert, I wanted to find something close to Rancho Mirage. I toured the majority of the apartments I was considering, from Palm Springs to La Quinta, over the span of three days. I was initially hesitant to tour Canterra because of the reviews I had read on Yelp and Google, but I decided to give it a chance, and I am so glad I did! Joy was the person who showed me around, and she was incredibly sweet, kind, and professional. She took her time showing me the available units and amenities, and once I toured the specific unit I ended up choosing, I was sold! The move-in process was quick and easy, and most of the communication was handled through email. I lived at Canterra for 15 months, from 2025 to 2026, with my two dogs, and overall, I had a genuinely great experience. The building I lived in was quiet and primarily occupied by working professionals, although there are plenty of families throughout the community as well. I never had any issues with my neighbors and felt VERY safe living here. There was one incident involving the police in the community, but Canterra kept residents informed, which I appreciated. The gates were also consistently closed unless maintenance or landscaping crews needed access. I had ZERO issues with bugs or roaches, aside from one instance when I accidentally left my screen door open for a few hours. The maintenance team consists of three men who were always friendly, efficient, and quick to respond, even for the smallest requests. I lived near the front pool, so weekends could occasionally get a little loud. Personally, I didn't mind because it gave the community a lively, welcoming feel. The soccer field across the way could also get noisy in the late evenings and on Saturdays, but it was never anything I found intolerable. Parking was never an issue with my designated spot, and the guest parking was a huge plus when my family came to visit. I also want to give a special shout-out to Roxanna! During move-out, she took the time to explain every single charge and walk me through the entire process. She was communicative, helpful, and professional throughout the end of my lease. I was also able to walk through my apartment with the head of maintenance before moving out, and he pointed out the areas that would be inspected. This gave me the opportunity to clean everything thoroughly and know what to expect. Ultimately, I received a fair refund of my security deposit, and I appreciated the transparency throughout the process. Overall, living at Canterra was a wonderful experience for me personally. It truly felt like home, and I felt fortunate to be part of such a positive community during an important transition in my life. They helped me get really nice rental furniture quickly from a trusted vendor and made the move in process seamless. The building facilities are top notch and beautifully decorated. I have now had multiple meals with my mom at Segovia and the food quality is amazing and the service is excellent. The staff has made us feel very welcome in such a short time.
