Thought I'd give a review update re: living at the Aventine Apts. in LaQuinta, CA. Have been here for 3+ years and it's still great. Renee, the Mgr and her Assistants Steve and Sal, Earney, the Maintenance Supervisor and his Assistant Felipe, are still doing a great job. They are professional and are extremely personable! Horrible management! I have asked three times for them to send maintenance to my elderly father's apartment to fix a non-working garbage disposal, A burnt out light and broken ballast in his kitchen which is completely dark and very dangerous for an elderly man to be in the dark, and some sort of a bug problem eating through the wall making sand all over his floor which she cleans up constantly. I don't know if it's termites in the wall or what exactly but after three tries no one is going over to fix these things. Did I mention he has lived there for 17 years and always pays his rent on time? What do I have to do? Contact the Better Business Bureau? read more

My fiancée and I moved from Orange County to the desert for work two weeks ago and we were looking for a down stairs 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. Although the square footage of our unit is under 1,000 it is smartly built and it feels spacious and is just enough space for us and to entertain guests. The noise level from upstairs are very minimal with carpeting and high ceilings. Each unit is equipped with major kitchen appliances and full-size washer and dryer. The property is kept clean beautiful and has the amenities of a gym, pool, barbecue grills , and volley and basketball court. You can probably find all the previously mentioned in other apartments, but during our extensive search what drew us to Aventine is the staff that work here. They are wonderful! Everyone from the leasing staff to the maintenance crew in this complex has been incredibly friendly and professional. Any work order put in is always dealt with promptly and they always keep an eye out for you if they see anything else that needs attention while they are there. The management of this place has changed from a few years ago and so I would say please don't be discouraged from the negative reviews left from prior management. My fiancée and I are incredibly thorough with these things, but our personal interactions have overridden any negative review we saw and we are really happy with our decision. read more

Do yourself a favor and Keep looking. Don't be fooled by the model they show you as it will be remodeled and staged. What they actually deliver to you on move in day a while other story. We were greeted with an apartment that looked like it hadn't seen a remodel in decades. The kitchen cabinets were literally taped together, and it looked like a 5 year old painted it. Walls were in need of several drywall repairs but were just painted over. Manager said don't worry we are in the process of remodeling so we could always move you in the future. She says don't worry about the details like the tape on the cupboard and chipped Counters, drywall holes, etc. (We are aware of it) left with no alternative we unpacked the uhaul. Later that evening as I'm deep cleaning the disgusting kitchen so I can unpack I discovered a open area under the kitchen cabinets stuffed with what looked like dryer sheets. As I'm pulling them out cockroaches begin to scatter. I immediately contact the office and again am told since they have no other units they don't have an alternative but to send the exterminator on Monday. We dealt with twice weekly bug treatments for the first 6 months we lived there. I had to spend money on replacing food that was compromised by bugs or pesticide. First week the refrigerator stopped working and I lost all my freezer and refrigerator food. We discovered black mold on the balcony, and they promised to correct it and that took weeks. I had to threaten them with the health department to get their attention and they simply painted it and it bled back through time and time again. The maintenance staff is horrid, if you need something repaired plan on at least two weeks turnaround. If they show up at all! Dealt with this for a year and moved out the first day the lease was up. Left the apartment better than I found it and they sent me to collections for painting and flooring that was never even replaced. This is after walking away without my deposit. The manager Renee is rude and doesn't care about anything other than making her bonus. KEEP SHOPPING! read more

Worst apartment complex ever, they have the nerve to charge you for everything but when it comes to do their part and job, they are nowhere to be found. Me and my girlfriend were without A/C for about a week, they did a crappy job and the water seeped through the walls. When we moved out they had the nerve to say we didn't clean the blinds and they had to clean the floor twice. Very bad maintenance, they're leeching off the people without returning anything back. Bad thing is there are only a handful of apartments in that area so people have to put up with the cost, sad. read more

My husband and I are looking for an apartment in this area. We came upon the Aventine Apartments and met with Renee. She showed us the model apartment (which was absolutely beautiful.) Long story short we've been living here for 5 months now and everything about this place is great. We had to call maintenance out to check our disposal and he brought a new one and replaced it right away. It's very peaceful here and I have no complaints. I plan on staying here for a while. I see Renee on the property all the time and she is very friendly. If you plan on moving to the area, I would suggest the Aventine Apartment. read more

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER MOVING HERE!! I wish this I could give this place a negative rating!! I only lived here for about 4 months and it was the most horrible experience of my life. There was mold and bacteria in the swimming pool! The business center smelled like BO! The owners let their dogs crap everywhere and no one cleaned it up. The management NEVER answers the phone when you call. The people that live here are loud, slamming doors and having parties in the middle of the night! The best staff ever ! My husband and I have rented here for over 3 years and we are very comfortable and happy with the management and staff. Ernie and Felipe are awesome maintenance staff they go above and beyond to fix things in a timely manner and they are always professional and pleasant to work with. We are truly grateful for their help in our time of need especially when our AC went out in the middle of summer and our refrigerator just went out recently. They got everything up in running same day :) also the office staff has been very nice and great to deal with Renee the new manager does a great job, she's always responsive and has truly been the best manager we have had here. Rude office staff.. They did not show me a model apartment and they never picked up my phone calls when I called except when I blocked my number. Either they are lazy or discriminating. Whoever owns these apartments should seriously investigate these lazy managers because they are costing you business and potentially get you into legal troubles. read more

Worst apartment ever, I am only there for 6 months. My refrigerator can"t even make ice at all from the day I move in, I had tried to call so many times but every time when they come by they told me they need to order a part to fix it but till the day I move out it still not fix... After I had move out they want to charge me for clean the apartment and repaint the apartment for over $600, seriously ??? I don't even have any bed or sofa or other furniture in there. I own a air bed, folding table and 4 folding chair that's all, I am super clean person and I don't even wear shoes in there, I was there for 6 months, repaint the wall for over $200 ??? I used to own a cleaning business, and I know how to clean, I had live in so many nice apartment before and I had never got charge for anything. DO NOT MOVE IN THERE, even after I had tried to contact them about the charge but they just don't even answer at all, I refuse to pay and want them to send me the invoice but I got the one doesn't even prove anything, I ask for more info and they just not even want to answer me anymore, I just found out they had send all my info to collection service now, I didn't even receive any bill or call from them. This place is terrible!!! First off they never answer there phones and gotta wait days for them to ever call you back!!! Next this place does not give a shit about the people who live there and do absolutely nothing when it comes to issues and fixing things. This shit ass place more then half security deposit for 185 paint job? When we had it looked at before we left and was no damage on the walls or anything of that sort. 85 dollars for carpet cleaning when they just take out the carpet for every new person who moves in so I don't understand what they cleaned. All 3 my neighbors moved out and all got new carpet so I have no idea?. This was the worst experience ever and will never recommended this place to anyone!! This place is a great location for being near restaurants, wal-mart, grocery stores, etc. BUT, any amenities they advertise are basically false. Possibly 10 years ago when this place was built this place was nice. But they're not keeping things looking nice to say the least. "State of the Art" fitness center is falling apart. Almost a hazard to be in there and to try to use the equipment! "Communications Center" has 2 computers and one of them had a cracked screen monitor and there is no printer. Basketball hoops they have, (2) of them, both have cracked backboards with half or less of the backboard left and one of them is not even level. Horseshoe pit needs an upgrade. Concrete on each side of the pits is crazy! One misfire and a horseshoe skips 20 yards into an unsuspecting child in the background! Putting green looks like it hasn't been used in years. Needs to be torn up and redone. Landscaping is nothing exciting, grass looks horrible, most likely didn't even scalp and reseed in the Fall. Any plants that had been removed becuase they died were not replaced as you can see empty spots where irrigation supplies water to the dirt. Pool is nice, but has been closed 3 different times in the last two months. Even on the 4th of July, you think they would have the pool in nice shape for tenants to enjoy the day! Nope! Closed! Also have had cockroaches in my apartment. Maintenance crew does complete any issues in a timely manner, which is nice. Overall, wish the "extras" were kept in shape and would be something we could be proud of as tenants. Good Times! read more
