I was able to get an appointment at Restoration Rod's (can't say enough awesome things about them!) I talked to Dustin on the phone and he reassured me that he could get my car into the shop without starting the engine. And did he ever! He had all the right tools to get my car onto his tow truck. In fact, he even made it look easy. The following day, he towed my -- now working -- car back to my house. Dustin's price for these towings were solidly sound...less than I anticipated. It should have been $125 which is what they said they charge when towed when I called on my way over, then when I went to pick it up they added an "after hour fee $50" a "administrative fee $50" a skid fee, ect to run the bill up over $300!! I literally followed them to the impound yard. They didn't have my vehicle in possession for more than 10 mins!!! Be careful they will try to get you for as much as they can. We got stranded in the mountains with no cell service and had to get a police officer to radio in a tow for us. The car we rented did not come with a spare tire so we were stuck! Andy showed up and quickly got us back to where we needed to be. The best part is that he fought for us when the rental company was trying to say they would not cover the tow even though they left us no option. He was extremely helpful during the whole process and an all around great guy!

They told me they'd be happy to meet me at my vehicle - approximately 7 miles away from my own destination and approximately 7 miles away from their location in Garden City - at 7PM. 7PM came and I called. Bill told me the driver was en route and to call him in 20 minutes if they had not shown. I was a little frustrated by this as we had schedule a time but I understand, things happen. 20 minutes came and went and I called Bill as instructed. He gave me the 20 minutes line again. I told him I was frustrated by their poor communication and lack of respect for my time. Bill didn't care or even offer an apology - he made excuses and I told him I would rather give my money to someone else. At 7:26 I called Boise Valley. At 7:58 I had paid their driver (says my card receipt) as he had my car loaded up and ready to go by that time.

I tried using Yelp to help find a shop that had high ratings & mostly positive reviews. I had a shop (Walter @ Mac's Automotive) convince me that replacing my rear end assembly instead of rebuilding the differential would be more cost-effective due to labor & parts. Initially quoted me $2300 ($1700 for the rear end) + $500 for 2 sensors that had to be replaced (told me that I had to do all 4). Ended up having Scott tow my truck from that shop to his & I told him what The prior shop had told me. To my surprise, Scott came back that same day quoting me $1300 for the rebuild. Then he mentioned the sensors & expressed their importance but I didn't have to do all 4. All said & done........$1655 out the door! Thank God For Perfection Drivetrain!
