ABOVE AND BEYOND SERVICE! My alternator and battery left me stranded in a parking lot. Geico connected me with Boise Valley Towing--what a favor they did! Omar arrived and tried to jump start the battery, but with no luck, I asked if he would tow it. I didn't know where to tell him to tow it, as I haven't needed an auto repair shop until then. That is when Omar stepped in, made a suggestions, etc. To help me make a decision, he even called a few places for me (my phone was almost dead, too) and he put repair shops on speaker phone so I could listen in. Unfortunately I had to call for Roadside assistance for the first time ever! Boise Valley towing was the company dispatched. They contacted me right away to let me know when they'd be there and to verify info. The driver arrived sooner than I expected! I believe his name was Will, he had a blondish beard, a skull tattoo and a ringtone that sounds like an Irish W.W.E. wresler, he did everything he could to see if he could jump start it first, but to no avail. My pickup was in a tight parking space, with limited back up room, but he maneuvered it out easily. Even after I sent him facing the wrong way on the street for my pickup, he took the extra few minutes to turn around so that I wouldn't get a ticket for it being backwards. Unscrupulous. Beware of predator towing. Circled around waiting to tow and impound my car after I parked in a city park without good no parking signage. Charged me for a day of storage when I picked my car up from their lot within 24 hours of the tow, which per Code 3-16-7-2, should be included in the standard tow fee (link: https://citycode.cityofboise.org/Home/Detail/106152#section_3-16-7 ). I called Geico for roadside assistance after my car was left in the snow for a week while I was out of town and needed a jump. They came within 15-20 minutes and were awesome! Robby was super helpful as well as the other gentleman with him; they made a crappy situation into a funny one and gave tips on the road conditions since I have been out of town and have never had car battery troubles. I also called dispatch while they were en route to explain my situation and the man who I spoke to was awesome and recommended what I should do after the roadside assistance. Update as Blake has reached out. Blake, the 2 visitor spots were taken by RE residents the entire weekend. We DID park in the next available spot which said permit parking. There is NO SIGN POSTED where we parked. Nothing even remotely close by. We had dinner with our daughters and went to get the BRAND NEW CAR we bought that day, to return to our hotel. When your guy came out he SHOULD have taken notice that there was NO SIGN. According to Idaho state law, if you don't know you cannot tow. So we took it up with Rivers Edge but we also are holding your company responsible as you should not be towing any vehicle when there is no signage posted per Idaho state law. Happy to remove my review of your unethical business practice if you refund our money. And it's not about the money. It's about the law and your company engaging in predatory towing at Rivers Edge. I just had a super great experience! My car broke down on me at eagle island and I called a competitor towing company ( Steve's automotive...terrible company) to come out to help me. They basically got there and told me sorry they couldn't help me because I didn't have my Id with me . So I called boise valley towing and they got there on time and in a timely manner. Our driver was really nice kept a good conversation and provided excellent customer service and he got my car back home and ended my 4 hr wait for assistance! I will use them again if I'm ever in a situation again. It's not every often you get quality and great customer service with a company so thank you!! read more

First the guy was nice. Everything else was horrible. I didn't get to choose the company as my insurance used them with my roadside assistance. I called for assistance with a flat tire. While I am fully capable of putting a spare on I didn't have a jack with me, this was the first step in my misfortune. The driver arrived and set his jack under my car and lifted as normal. I turned my hazards on so traffic doesn't run him over. Driver used a basic tire iron which didn't fit my wheels...he needed a deep socket. Which I requested in the road side assistance help. Waiting for him to try and figure this out for 10 minutes I suggested that we use my tools, I live about a mile away from where the car was parked. I said it would take me roughly 30 minutes to walk there and back OR if he could give me ride it would save us both time and waiting in the hot sun. Driver then said no he can't do that so walking back to my house is the best option. So I walk home grab my tools thinking that we could just knock this out and we'd be done. I get back to my car and he's smoking a cig blowing all the smoke into my car. Which if he smokes on his time thats great. Do it away from my car, I don't smoke. I bust MY tools out, an impact and the right socket and get the wheel off. Then he puts my spare on but it clearly needs air, its low. I suggest that we fill it up as that was the whole reason for the call. Stupidly I left my hazards on while I went for my walk and the battery drained. *yay* So I ask for a jump box. He doesn't have one. So he wants push my car to the front of his truck instead of just moving his truck for a jump. Finally I get a jump and air in the tire. Off and on my way. Maybe I expect too much from a tow truck when asking for road side assistance. If I didn't live moderately close who knows where this would have ended up. This sucked and took way longer than it needed too. read more

They impounded my vehicle for unpaid parking tickets. They demanded my driver's license "for verification purposes," took a copy of it, and proceeded to put my drivers license information into their system. When I protested, they ignored me. They currently have a copy of my driver's license as well as all my information in their system. In addition, they charged me a $125 hookup fee, $4 per mile (they are out in the toolies), $50 for (2) devices to prevent damage to my vehicle and they damaged my vehicle anyway. They advertise 24 hour service, but if you arrive after 5:00 pm, they charge you a $50 gate fee. They also charge a 3% fee unless you use cash, then tell you you are lucky they have change when you pay them cash. I have two scratches on my vehicle. read more

However, The tow driver for this company name Rodger, Left bridle on the deck unsecured not even hooked to wrench cable and drove my car like that for 6 miles. If I could give 0 stars I would. I am not one to ever leave reviews. First off let me at that they towed my vehicle which I am not mad about because it was my fault. This was easily the worst customer service experience I have ever been a part of. I called when my vehicle got towed and I was told a driver would call me in 5 minutes with how to get it back. 45 minutes go by and no phone call. I called again and the same thing happens. 45 more minutes go by. I call a THIRD TIME and finally I get a call on how to retrieve my vehicle. I was told the price but was not at all aware or the extra charges that were racked on. Also there was a new scratch in my front fender and when I commented on it to the employee they said that there was no proof that it was a new scratch that they did. They said there was nothing that they could do. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF AT ALL POSSIBLE! Very rude and they don't make you feel like a customer. At 11:30 at night my friend and I returned from a walk in downtown Boise. We parked at Camel's Back Park and found an empty parking lot upon closer examination we found a tow sign that we had initially missed. We called the number, asked them if they picked up the car (,they had), and asked what the fine was. This was when Matt, the tow agent, went out of his way to help us out; he hadn't dropped the car of at the impound lot yet, and offered to drop it off where it was picked up at a discounted price to the impound price. It seemed like an undocumented negotiation that would only be profited from Matt; to my surprise the payment was completed on a company iPad ie. The payment was transferred to the firms account and not Matt's pocket. We could've been taken advantage of to make a quick buck but we were taken care of and protected by almost complete strangers. Is there a way to give these guys zero stars? Apparently, they have a contract with the City of Boise to tow cars from Camel's Back park at dark. After a long evening of biking in the foothills with a few events (e.g. mechanical issues) delaying our return, I discovered my car was missing. After panicking that it may have been stolen I eventually found the number to this company (underneath the signage on a handicaped parking space that had a car parked in it, without a placard no less). person who answered the phone was extremely rude. My car was the only vehicle towed even though there were several in the lot. They even joked about only towing the most expensive vehicle, suggesting this should be taken as a compliment. The company had absolutely no sympathy for the fact that I am a college student (with NO income) or that I had a test in the AM. They presented a "not my problem" attitude.
