Views of sunrises, sunsets and mountains are captivating. This is a perfect place to escape for a special weekend, solo adventure, girls/guys night, or retreat. While there are 20 places to choose from, each one offers privacy. Some of the dwellings are extremely popular because of their incredible theming, so make sure to make your reservation as soon as possible. My husband and I booked our stay at Dragon's Knoll (think Middle-Earth and hobbits) 6 months out. We enjoyed the cozy home, all of the beautiful touches, the stunning views, and the stillness and peacefulness of the location. We have recently started a travel-inspired business (Reservations and Road Trips) and reached out to the owners. Mike (dad) and Justin (son) were so kind to us. They are passionate people who love what they do and the experiences they can provide. They are great communicators...Mike even called us from his vacation! Justin spent an hour with us giving us tours of the available homes. We are looking forward to going back to Earth and Sky Dwellings in the spring or summer...we can't wait to see their new event venue put to use!

We stayed at the "Phoenix" and, as a huge Star Wars fan, the amount of detail and thought put into this was incredible. Jere and Melissa, two of the owners, met us on site at check in and could not have been more friendly and accommodating. They welcomed us to the property and encouraged us to explore and check out the other dwellings that were on site. They also maintained constant contact after the storms had devastated that area, and we could tell they were dedicated to providing the best experience possible to both us and Asheville. They never faltered in accommodating us in the delays that the storms had caused. It was all worth the wait, the setting that they have created truly creates a magical getaway and the views were phenomenal. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to visit here and stay in one of the other fantastic homes that they have created. What an outstanding experience, and thank you to Jere and Melissa for being such wonderful hosts!

It's perfectly decorated, cozy and the layout is very family-friendly or bachelorette/bachelor party-friendly with several huge communal areas. My kids went wild over the tree house bunk room and the master suite is incredible. We LOVED the view from the hot tub! There were LOTS of things I loved about the house, but I was really impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked with quality items. I usually bring my own serving platters, knives, trash bags, paper towels, etc. and we never even had to unpack any of those items. The kitchen had everything you could need -- from a variety of coffee to ziploc bags to massive serving platters. The rest of the house was thoughtfully stocked too with things like laundry detergent, shampoo & conditioner, firewood, etc. Another feature that was hugely helpful was every thing was labeled in the house -- all of the remotes, switches, speaker system, wi-fi, etc. Lastly, Jay (the owner) is an incredible host. He had his phone number posted in several places so you can easily reach him and was a breeze to work with.

Let me start by saying that Jay, the owner of the 3 Upstream Way homes (Penthouse, Bachelorette,…read moreBohemian), is amazing. He has built a beautiful oasis of upscale, modern, cozy homes overlooking the French Broad River and the grounds of the Biltmore Estate. I highly encourage you to book 1-3 of his side by side homes (soon to be 4!) for your family, friends, celebration, etc. He spared no expensive in constructing and decorating the homes and it shows. I wish I could live full time in any of his houses. They have literally any amenity you could need and then some. No detail is too small for him to notice. We booked his 3 houses to hosts guests in lieu of an isolating hotel block for our wedding. Our friends were super excited- we planned to put friend groups together in different houses and it was going to be a reunion weekend for so many people! Sadly we had to cancel because of the pandemic- but that can't stop me from recommending Jay's accommodations. In addition to staying at one of the houses ourselves, we were going to hold the ceremony at the end of the road directly adjacent to the houses. Jay was incredibly generous with his time, giving us tours of the property, discussing modifications to fit our needs, figuring out bed arrangements to fit our guests, etc. We had several calls and meetings with him over the course of a year as we planned our wedding on his property. Of all the people we worked with over the course of planning the wedding, he was the one we felt the most confident about in terms of seeing our plans through. Such a friendly guy! He really care about making sure you have a great time during your stay. If you're just looking for a few days vacation in Asheville, it's the perfect spot. Great house, great location. Borrow his inner tubes and go for a ride down the French Broad River to the New Belgium Brewery. Relax in the hot tub. Enjoy the high quality, high tech amenities. Perfect for friends, families, anyone. If you're looking to plan something more than just a few days vacation- whether it be a wedding, corporate retreat, reunion, etc- this is the place. Jay will help with whatever you need to make your special event function smoothly. I truly can't recommend him enough. He's a gem.

The grounds were breathtaking, and our Lexington Suite was sumptuous. But the most wonderful thing happened to me during our stay. We had a 4-course breakfast. But the fourth course absolutely blew me away. Karen and Steve are classical musicians, and I knew they would be great. But their music touched my soul and had me in tears. This cabin has many stairs to walk up and the gravel grading on the road is steep. Hard to maneuver with my small SUV and for my mom who is limited with mobility. But we made it. Loved the rustic charm of the cabin. Please keep it rustic and May I suggest eliminating the modern/youthful decor as it doesn't pair well. (Pics to follow). Beds were clean and comfortable. Pull string on fan/light in bedroom needs to be longer. Kitchen was an accommodating but could use new pans, potholders and a smaller spatula to flip eggs. Keurig and K-Cups were a nice touch. Thank you. A deep cleaning is needed! No fire starter log in stove, tv remote didn't work. (We didn't need these anyway). Back door in kitchen would not lock. I messaged about it and was told it would be fixed in the morning. I didn't sleep that night at all and placed the large buffet in front of door to ensure no human or wildlife interaction happened on my watch. Victim of former burglary and I think there is some PTSD from that. Issue was resolved next afternoon and I slept great the other two nights. Road work was being done on property while there. So that made it noisy early in the morning and until about 5:30 PM. But the workers were very kind and I understand work doesn't cease. I just hope owners take note to prioritize work to be done on slower seasons ;) Not leaf peeping time. We will return but stay in a different cabin that is more easily accessible. The price was affordable and we enjoyed our stay overall. Please keep this place quaint and rustic. These serene places in nature need to be preserved and respected in order to enjoy and respect them. Do not install WI-FI or make it something it isn't meant to be. Was so thrilled to stop here today on our anniversary and ask if we could walk around for nostalgia. We were told by man who worked in office, that we were unable to due to liabilities. We totally understood and said we would just look past the bushes from the road and take a picture of the Evening Shade sign. He was fine with that. Within a few minutes, a woman came out from office and yelled at us from a distance very rudely "you can't be here and you need to leave!" Then she turn around and left. Apparently she worked there. I quickly got in the car to leave with my husband. I then decided to go back into the office to ask her why she was so rude. She said she wasn't rude. We were taking a picture in front of evening shade sign.

Very comfortable memory foam mattress with super soft sheets. The kitchen is small but perfect. Dishes already in the cabinets to use. I would've liked to have paper towels supplied so be sure to bring some when you come. Also, coffee is supplied in the office at 7:30 so unless you're an early bird unlike us, be sure to bring some coffee grounds to use in the coffee pot. We were supplied with plenty of towels/rags which I was very pleased by because most places give you only 2 towels. I will say the water pressure isn't the best but it was good and hot so I was alright with it. The back porch had a PHENOMENAL view of chimney rock and the river. If you're a bigger person you may struggle a little getting onto the porch because it's a little bit of a tight squeeze. There were 2 chairs on the porch that accommodate bigger people. I would have liked to have a table on the porch though. There's a fire pit right on the river with wood supplied as well as plenty of swings and a grill under a shed. The owners are very sweet and truly care about their guests. Price is very reasonable for the location. It was $292 for Friday-Sunday. I really did enjoy our weekend there, it was PERFECT!!

It was perfect for sitting by the fire pit and listening to music. Breakfast.... oh my...... the owner can cook! Don't skip this perk if you can. The kitchen has coffee, tea, fresh baked cookies, popcorn, etc. that is accessible at all hours. Perfectly located between fine dining and outdoor activities. The beach is walkable in about 7-10 minutes. Walking back on a hot-humid day, uphill, you are going to sweat. Things that I would like to see in the future: - covers for patio furniture to keep it dry. All the cushions were wet when we went to sit by the fireplace.
