I am very happy that we used Silver Screen for our wedding (Sept 2015) photography!!! I think you get great value for the price. I was a bride on a budget (most are), and I wanted great photography (who doesn't), but I wasn't ready to pay $2500 or more. I must have contacted 30 photographers for quotes, trying to keep at a $1000 budget. I had one photography company laugh at me over the phone and tell me there was "no way" I'd get photography in Chicago under $2000.... Silver Screen was the only one that had packages that were under $1000. I only ended up paying under $950 total for one photographer 10 hours and a CD with ALL (1700) images! And I got more than what I paid for! I worked with David the owner from the beginning and he was very helpful. Some of the past reviews have suggested it may be a little hard to work with David, but not for me. Every time I called him he called me back same day no problem. The contract clearly outlines everything. He asked that I review the website portfolios of the photographers and tell him the top 3 I wanted. All of their portfolios looked great, so I felt like I was splitting hairs in picking someone. Nonetheless, about a month before the wedding, he said the photographer I chose had a family emergency and was no longer available on my wedding date. He assigned me a different photographer, Joe. And in effort to make-up for any inconvenience, he also assigned a second photographer, Sam, to shoot at the church free of charge. I was totally happy with that and felt that it was fair and professional. Joe and Sam contacted me the next day to talk details. As lead photographer, Joe and I talked for an hour on the phone to chat details and for him to get to know what type of couple we were and what we were hoping for our photography. JOE IS THE BEST. He was only "on the clock" for 10 hours but arrived early to my hotel and started taking pics anyways. He was with me all day, and he fit right in and felt like part of the group. It was great having him along for the ride. He's an overall sweet and fun guy! Even when I or others got bossy asking him to do this or that, he went right along with it-- happy camper! He's laid back and was open to my ideas and direction, which is good since I'm a bit of a control freak. And Sam was also great at the church. He took charge and was directing a lot of attendees, capturing great moments! He had a lot of energy and was great. Overall, I would highly recommend Silver Screen for photography! I understand why some photographers charge so much for their services, but really, I think they charge a lot because everyone else is! I found Silver Screen Events when I was buying my dress at House of Brides. They had an amazing special going on that deserved serious consideration. I made an appointment and met with Tami that week. She is amazing and great with people. From meeting with us she was able to help lead us to a DJ that rocked our wedding. I am still getting compliments about how phenominal our dj, Berry, was. He worked the croud, knew when to take it down and when to speed it up. He led dances when people were lost and kept the party alive. I could not have asked for anyone better, and that is NO exageration. In our package we also got two photographers. One for 10 hours and the other for 6 hours. Let me tell you how awesome it is to get two photographers and a dj for the price of just one photographer at most other places. Our photographers have worked together at other weddings and worked very well with one another. They did not step on each others toes and worked to get every shot I desired. Very classy people to work with. This company gives you a choice of who you want your photographers to be. We chose our top 4 from 18 photographers, based off of the styles we liked most, and got 2 of those 4. If you like candid and creative I would recommend looking at Lee and Dan's portfolios from the website silverscreeneventsusa.com. The owner, Dave, kept in contact with us the entire time and we always knew what was going on. I really could not give enough praise on how enjoyable this experience was for me. If you are looking to have a rocking reception and pictures to prove it, I would suggest booking with Silver Screen Events in Arlington Heights, IL. P. S. My wedding was March 1st, 2014. The first time I came across this company was at a friend's wedding where I was a brides-made. I liked the way the photographer worked a lo, and when i saw the final photos in my friend's album, I was completely sold. It was very easy to work with Dave, the owner of the company. He discussed every detail with us. We went together over the contract and he answered all our questions I did not manage to get the same videographer and deejay my friend had when I booked with them for my own wedding, but I was lucky enough to get the same photographer and the second photographer. My first photographer was Serge, and shooting my bridal preparations with him and Garland, my videographer, was a lot of fun. I had some problems with my make-up dress, etc, but these guys kept complementing and encouraging me, and made the whole process very easy and enjoyable. That's what I called professionalism. The second photographer, Nick, did a great job with the guys in the meantime at the church. I loved what came out of my husband's portrait shots and him with the guys. Serge was great with both individual and group shots. He found a way to make us all look our best.. I loved the video Garland made for us. It was beautifully edited and of high quality. At first, we were a little reluctant to book with this company. We met David, the owner, at a bridal show and fell in love with his work and his professionalism. A few days later we did a search on this very site and saw that he had some sketchy reviews on Yelp. When we went in for our consultation, David was upfront and went over a few of the negative reviews, especially 2 that his company received on video, since that was one of the services we ended up booking. I also asked him how a company can be in business over 20 years an only have 7 reviews and he told us to see all his reviews on Weddingwire and The Knot... for whatever reason, we found out, this site does not post all the reviews. Anyway, we were super glad we went with Silver Screen Events for Video and DJ services. We even got discounts for having a December wedding. Barry our DJ kept our dance floor rocking all night long and even led a few of the line dances. Joe our videographer was awesome! He captured events at the reception that we had no idea even happened. We have watched the video a handful of times and I know I drive my husband crazy as I keep pulling it out when family comes over, Ha, Ha! I went to a bridal expo and picked silver screens out on a limb. Closer to the wedding we went and met with them. We discussed the contract and packages. they showed us someones wedding video and it had me in tears and i didn't even know who this couple was. At that very moment i knew that this is who i wanted. they worked with me every step of the way. Nick was our photographer and he was wonderful, he got every shot i could have imagined and they came out beautiful. Dan was our video guy and he as well was great, he got along with my whole family and seemed as if he was one of the family and that put me at ease. Our DJ was Mike he played all the songs i requested and even called me a few days before the wedding stating he was my guy if i needed food or anything at all the day that he was my man. He made me feel so at ease and thats something i will always remember. I got so many good complements about how much fun the wedding was and how it was the best wedding some of my guests have been too. my husband is in the military and got to come home for our wedding, silver screen events made it such a happy and really made that day the best day of my life. Silver Screen Events has a great photographer on their staff. Sergi has the perfect eye for photography. He knows how to capture the most romantic images with the best lightening creating some of the most epic photos. Sergi gives clear direction and is a blast to work with. His assistant will keep you in a great mood, laughing the whole day. He makes even the most photo shy feel at ease. When it comes to contacting, Sergi is quick to answer your messages/calls. Our engagement session was beyond incredible and I didnt think our wedding pictures could top them but they did! When it comes to finding the perfect wedding photographer, it can be a hassle!! As the grooms mom and living in Florida, I will admit I was nervous that we only met in person the people from Silver Screen Events once before the wedding. David - the owner sent us numerous emails of keeping us updated on the photographers and videographer for my sons and his fiances wedding. He even gave us everyone's phone number and email address so we could contact them directly. Also, about 3 weeks out the people working the event checked in with both my son and now daughter in law and went thru the entire day with them. David even showed up himself the day of just to make sure that everything was going smoothly and to calm this mothers fears, ha ha :) We got the pictures/video back last week and the two photographers - Rad and Sergi took some amazing photos of the entire day and the video even made me laugh and cry in a good way. I don't normally leave reviews, but after seeing how negative some were, I felt it necessary to leave one!! Everyone at Silver Screen was AMAZING!! Dave was professional, timely, and great about answering every single question we had. We chose the package that included everything (can't remember the name) but our photographers, Serge and Nick were the absolute best!! Serge had such a great personality and made us laugh and feel comfortable during some of the more interesting shots :) Nathan was an amazing DJ! We had been playing phone tag trying to talk about pronunciations and he was so calm and collected (which this crazy bride needed!)! Our photobooth people were AWESOME and so funny- the guests truly enjoyed them!! And lastly, our video was stunning. We used Silver Screen Events and purchased the Ultimate Wedding Package...This is where you get photo/video/dj/photo booth services all in one big deal. Their staff was incredible and you could see they were all used to working together. Sergi & Sam were our two photographers and the images they captured have made my mother and I have tears of joy a few times. Joe our videographer and Nate our DJ also helped give my husband an I the wedding of our dreams. I dont remember the photo booth techs name but they were a lot of fun and it was a blast to be able to fit no many people in one shot. It was nice to have everything under one roof so to speak and not have to worry about companies working well together or even showing up! Plus, my husband loved the fact that we got everything under budget. Less than $5000 for the entire deal. From day one, meeting Dave in his office, everything was great! He explained all of the different packages and answered all of the questions we had. We decided to go with Silver Screen Events after we met the owner David at a Bridal show. The company was easy to work with and were very accommodating. About a week before the wedding day, I got an email with photos from the Church and the Reception site. They went to check out both locations to figure out where to get the best pictures with the best backdrop. We thought that that was very professional that they took the extra time to make sure we would be satisfied. On the wedding day, we had two photographers, Lee went with Joe and his groomsmen and Kelly stayed with me and my bridesmaids, They were able to capture some great shots. They stayed out of the way and were still able to capture amazing pictures!! We got 2 teaser pictures the day after the wedding, talk about incredible turn around and then less than 2 weeks later we got 1350 pictures online. They are fast and efficient. My husband and I got married in Oct of this year and we used their Ultimate wedding package that included everything - photo / video / DJ / Photo booth. Our DJ Barry rocked the house... :) He we so much fun and even got my parents on the dance floor. Their photo booth is cool as it holds 10ppl. I wish everyone got a strip to go home with but besides that, we of that could not be happier. As for photo and video... Dan our main photographer was great to work with and Nick our 2nd together took some awesome photos. The video guy (cant remember his name) was so professional and we have watched it so many times my husband is getting sick of it...ha, ha I have no idea why a couple of brides have slammed David and Silver Screen Events but all I can say is we could not be happier. THANK YOU SILVER SCREEN EVENTS! This place is great! We chose their Ultimate Wedding Package which included-photo,DJ & a huge photo booth. My husband liked the fact that it was a one stop shop and that we only had to deal with one vendor. We got two photographers in the package and Gary and Joe were both awesome! Not only did they take great pictures but their personalities put me at ease and made me relaxed. My mother loves the video and can't believe how much of the night she missed.once she saw the final edit. I think she has watched it three times now ha,ha. Nate our DJ kept the party going all night long and I don't remember the photo booth techs but they had a ton of props. I have heard of many problems people of had with their photographers at weddings and anniversary parties and I am so happy to say that Dave made this so incredibly wonderful and such an amazing experience! He was so incredibly professional photographers were all early and got memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I had Sam take photos of my niece Charlotte and my beloved dog Marina and the photos turned out excellent! My dog survived lung cancer over Christmas and started her first chemo treatment, so I wanted pictures taken quickly for Valentine's Day! Located next to Bentley's Corner Dog Bakery, my niece and I loaded up with plenty of dog treats for the big shoot! Sam is a great Photographer who had so many great ideas for set ups and was generous with his time. Dave the owner is a passionate dog owner and was so easy going and patient with my dog and niece running around the studio with me running after them. He told me that it was fine and to let them have fun, which we did! I will never forget Dave helping out by squeaking Mr. Duck behind Sam the photographer in order to get Marina's attention for that perfect shot, which we got! It did make me laugh! Thank You...Thank You...to the entire staff at Silver Screen Events We had originally hired a photographer off of Craigs List (big mistake) and to make a long story short, he took our money and ran. I contacted David at Silver Screens and he said that he unfortunately, this happens all the time. We were only 2 weeks out from our wedding and he calmed me down and said not to worry that he had a couple of videographers and photographers that were available for our day. We went on his recommendations of Sergi and Joe (video) to shoot our wedding and could not of been happier! Sergi took over 900 images and they were just amazing and Joe shot video that we never even saw on our wedding day because we were so busy with our family! I am so glad that we used Silver Screen Events for most of the major stuff for our wedding. We got married in December and just got our pictures & video back and we could not be happier! We booked their ultimate package and it included 2- photographers, 2 video people, photo booth & dj. Dan was our main shooter and he was like another Dad to me. We booked their Ultimate package which included Photo/Video/DJ/photo booth and because it was on a Friday, Dave the owner tossed in uplighting too. Their entire staff was great to work with and our photographers, Dan & Rad took some very very cool pictures! They even got my husband to smile and have a great time getting his pictures taken, ha, ha. I surprised my husband with the photo booth and he freaked out when he saw how many people could fit!
