We stayed for the Pikes Peak Hillclimb in June. It is close to the mountain and made the trip to the start line fairly short. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Everything worked. A liquor store is across the street and it is close to everything in town. You can walk. The pool was cool, refreshing and uncrowded. The staff was helpful. The only downside was that the wi-fi connection did not work well. But, I found that was true for the whole area. read more

I have never left a review for a business. Typically, if I have a poor experience I let it go. This place is awful. I stayed there for one night. I got in later in the evening, slept, woke up, and left. Two days later, I was charged an extra $200. When I called asking what happened, I was accused of breaking their television. I said there was no way that was possible as I did not even touch the touch the television, physically or remotely. I didn't even turn it on. When I tried to explain that this was not possible, the desk clerk, Giorgio said, "well I'm not going to go back and forth on the phone with you. It was broken when I was in there." I was shocked. If it was broken, it either had to be broken before me, as I said, I wouldn't know I didn't even touch it, or the only person in the room after me, Giorgio must have damaged it. I had nothing to do with it. To me, this sounds like an employee trying to cover their mistake. However, my side was not heard as the hotel, "was not going to go back and forth on the phone." In summary, this place is a scam. Do not stay. read more

We reserve a jacuzzi room whenever we visit Manitou Springs. Rooms are old and a bit dingy, carpet is gross, but the hot tub is clean, the towels and sheets are clean, the AC works, and the bed is comfortable. Our reservation (plus fees) was over $200 for one night. We basically just come here for the hot tub and dump half a bottle of bubble baff innit. It's awesome. Desk staff are very nice and no-one has ever bothered us here. I recommend this dingy run down hotel with 4 well earned stars. read more

I am always pleased as punch to stay here. Manitou Springs is a quaint town and I really love spending time exploring the area. The rooms are decent. The atmosphere beats most chain hotels hands down. They get the job done at the Silver Saddle. If one runs out of toilet tissue or towels, the staff is quick and happy to oblige. Ice machines and laundry facilities are available for extended stays. I wish they had more modern amenities in the rooms, such as televisions with HDMI inputs, so that peripheral devices packed in brought suitcases could add an extra bit of vidi entertainment alternatives than the free cable television. WiFi was adequate, although slow at times. Overall this place is great. Endeavor to stay here when in the area. You'll be glad you did. read more

It's a shame there isn't a negative star option, because this hotel deserves it. The good: the staff was really nice. This review is not a reflection on them. As always, we did a bedbug check and found evidence of bedbugs so we asked for another room. The second room passed our bedbug check. However, the floors were disgustingly dirty, so much that our feet got dirty just walking around the room. The bathroom had a significant amount of mold on the ceiling. There was a hole in the wall because the door didn't have a proper stopper to prevent the handle from penetrating the drywall. I was willing to suffer through all of that until morning, but the kicker was the ice-cold "heated" pool. After that, I was done. This place isn't as advertised, and I'm convinced the good reviews on here aren't legit. We ended up leaving and getting a refund. I paid $20 more at another hotel by the airport (20 minutes from this location), and ended up with a five-star experience there. It's really a shame. If some money and care went into cleaning this place up and making it super awesome with modern retro everything, it would be THE place to stay because of its location. If only I were king, I'd turn this thing into a retro paradise. read more

A very nice, affordable roadside Motel convenient to Pikes Peak and downtown Manitou Springs. Rooms are clean, with basic amenities, and reasonably well insulated from street noise. We were on a motorcycle trip, and the parking directly in front of the room was a terrific thing. Walking distance to a couple of restaurants, including a very good Italian place. Hotel has washer and dryer facilities, making it a great mid trip stop. Don't expect luxurious towels, bath robes, or high-end sheets. But you will absolutely find clean bedding, clean towels, and an affordable place to stay. read more

We stayed here while passing through. We booked day of and were happy they had a room. The room was very clean and cozy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They are wearing masks and have sanitizer in the lobby. In the morning they have a little Continental breakfast on the desk in the lobby consisting of two cereals, individually wrapped pastries and coffee. The beds are very uncomfortable and firm, with three paper thin pillows. Bring your own pillows and blankets. We stayed close to the main road and could hear the traffic. So keep that in mind. Overall it was a nice clean place to stay. I would not stay more than one night on the account of the uncomfortable beds. For the price and the availability it was nice. read more

The bathroom and sinks were immaculate. I was stunned. Now granted the furniture and stuff in the room are a little dated, but it's appropriate given where you are, so who cares? Even though we arrived at 1AM and the office was closed, we called the number on the door and woke the poor guy who was running the place up. He couldn't have been nicer and was at the door with our room key in two minutes. In the morning we chose to hit up Safeway about 1 mile down the street for some Starbucks and snacks to load up for the trek up Pikes Peak. Check out was a snap and we were at the toll booth for PP ten minutes later. I would stay here again when visiting the area for sure. read more

I never stay at motels, but I have to say it was nice not having to take an elevator to your room. You can just step outside of your door and sit and enjoy a beer. I would definitely go back, I just wish they had more to choose from with there Continental breakfast. It was pretty basic, there is a Itlian restaurant down the block and it was the BEST PIZZA. The name is Savelli's Pizza, Pasta and Subs, if your ever in Manitou springs you DEFINITELY have to go there. Very cute motel. My first time staying in a motel so wasn't sure what to expect, especially as I parked right outside my room's front door. Nothing fancy but clean room with everything one will need. Very compact rooms maximize efficiency and add to the charm. Very polite clerk at check-in who took time to explain all relevant details. Convenient location and friendly staff. Room was adequate for my needs. We stayed only 1 night. The room had a 'funk' to it. Not good. Not bad. Just 'off' to the point to make my wonder what it is. The bathroom has no exhaust fan and the door was very ill-fitting. There was MOLD growing in the upper corners of the wall above the tub. The floors are squeaky and thin. I knew exactly where my upstairs neighbor was at all times until about midnight. There is a pool and it was clean and inviting, however upon check in we were asked to sign a special waiver that informed us that there was no lifeguard. I've stayed at Ata lot of hotels and I've never had to sign a waiver like that before. read more

Good budget motel with heated pool. Nothing fancy, but our room was clean and the staff was wonderful. Road noise from 24 seemed loud if you were outside, but couldn't hear it from room. Not exactly within walking distance to downtown Manitou if you have small children, but parking there is easy enough. Will definitely stay here again. read more

After a very horrible experience at the the manitou inn & suites, the silver saddle next door got us in right away and for only $30 more. That little price increase pays off with bigger beds, no bugs, cleaner sheets and rooms, and much more friendly staff! I suggest the silver saddle anytime you're manitou! read more

We were just looking for a place with a bed and a shower, and Silver Saddle was more than adequate for a reasonable price. Someone mentioned the carpet and ours too was a little gross. There are rooms with great views, and then there are rooms with the view of the maid's work area or of a wall. The carpet was horrible, the room smelled of so many smells it was a bit odd but it was a smell that made us leave. The bed was comfortable, and if all you need is a good night's sleep you can do worse. But if want a good view, ask for 2nd floor on the west side,anything else will leave you disappointed.
