What made the entire experience of attending this wedding so excellent was the staff. The cocktail hour staff, the waitstaff, and the bartenders all gave 100%. It seemed like all of them really enjoyed working there and delivering top notch service. The location is also great because at night if you step outside you can see the Manhattan skyline. We truly had the best evening of our lives, & many of our guests told us that this was the one of if not the best wedding they had ever attended. We had been searching throughout Long Island, particularly Nassau county, for a reception location that struck the right balance between the classiness of the venue, the quality of the food, the reasonableness of the price, event privacy, and the flexibility to customize any details we felt we needed to. Inwood was honestly the perfect balance of these for us, & I cannot recommend it highly enough for those planning a similar event in the Nassau, Suffolk, Brooklyn. & Queens areas of NY. Details by category follow below. We also used & strongly recommend Genesis Events (DJ/MC), Stefans Florist, Silverfox Photography, Camelot Limos, & Front Street Bakery. Coordination with Management & Event Planning: We coordinated with the assistant manager Josephine regularly throughout the process of planning our wedding. She clearly detailed how they intended to set up the venue for us, provided options for customizing per our preferences, answered all of our questions thoroughly, and helped address & accommodate any of our concerns & requests. She ensured that our guests would be welcomed with light refreshments directly following our wedding ceremony (prior to the cocktail hour), which was a huge relief as many out-of-towners did not have anyplace else to go in the 2+ hour gap! Josephine was very courteous & accommodating from start to finish, and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Further, within two weeks of outlining the main details & menu options for our event, we received a precise & reasonable cost estimate from the venue manager Benny, which helped us to make our final determination on the venue with little delay. Menu Planning & Food Quality: We were also able to craft a first-class cocktail hour, dinner menu, & dessert buffet with the club chef, Anthony - a well-seasoned chef with decades of fine dining culinary experience. Having served as the Head Chef at Inwood for several years, Anthony's experience & passion really showed! He has excellent ideas which turned out amazingly; our guests raved about the food throughout the night & for weeks to come. Our cocktail hour was simply breathtaking; our guests were floored by the display & options available, really setting the stage for the wonderful evening to come. This included antipasto, pasta, sushi/stir-fry, carving, & seafood (including full lobster tails & huge jumbo shrimp) stations, along with passing hors d'oeuvres. When selecting these stations during wedding planning, each had a range of options for us to choose from to customize for our guests. Anthony was also able to accommodate dietary restrictions with a vegan wild mushroom risotto entree, which was delicious! He also prepared a demi-glaced & garnished filet mignon, panko-crusted halibut, & chicken saltimbocca, each seasoned and prepared with an assortment of paired sides. The only complaint I heard about the dinner that evening is that people were too full from the cocktail hour to finish their meal! The wedding cake & venetian hour desserts were provided through Inwood CC by Front Street Bakery in Rockville Center. The spread included an assortment of delicious pastries, cookies, cordials, espresso, gelato, sorbets, fruits & berries. An open bar was also provided at the start of the cocktail hour & through the course of the evening, including a quality selection of beers, wines, & cocktails. Venue/Facility: The main country club building served as the venue for our wedding reception, including a vast lobby, bar area, & beautiful dining area. The dining area is surrounded by windows looking out to the golf course and a clear view of the New York City skyline, with an ample dance floor located in the center of the room. The grounds are meticulously maintained & served as an ideal backdrop for our wedding photos. Service: The service staff was excellent, with the logistics of each stage of the evening having clearly been well planned & coordinated. My wife & I were provided with a private room to enjoy our cocktail hour, with a bridal attendant personally looking after us for the whole evening. Our guests received their orders promptly & with little delay within or between tables. The transition between each stage of the evening was elegantly prepared & handled with clear attention to detail as well. Each space was meticulously prepared for the cocktail hour, first dance, dinner, wedding cake, and venetian portions of the evening, with ample & professional staffing throughout. Bottom line: Inwood CC is a fantastic location for anyone looking to host a wedding or other event with great food, service, & style!

I was a guest at the Lawrence Beach Club for a large family gathering. ( A grandmothers 90th…read morebirthday) My family was approached by a "governor" of the beach club. She accused my wife of breastfeeding our child. Then continued to tell us that breastfeeding was unacceptable in the area we were in.. In short my wife was not breastfeeding our child , but shadowing him from the sun while he slept. When we were approached by the senior member of the club and she made her accusation, I told her that she should mind her own business and continue on with her day. ( since we were in no violation of club policy) She did not take kindly to the way that she was spoken to and reported us to management. I spoke with management to ensure that we were doing no wrong and he confided that we were in no violation. Later that evening we received a phone call saying that we were not welcome back to the club. And also heard that the accusing women said that I cursed at her and raised my voice... Which is a complete LIE.. I guess the point of this review of the club is that outsiders are not welcome. They are prejudiced against anyone that they perceive are not wealthy or equal to their status. As guest of a member (who pays a significant amount of money a year to enjoy the facilities) I feel that it is unacceptable treat guests and family members in a condescending and disrespectful manor.

Do not use there Case Management/Care Coordinator Program. I left the Care Coordinator/ Case…read moreManager Program supervisor Pete 5 messages and he still refused to return my call. I had an appointment with disability on July 12, 22 and my case manager was going to be there with me. I was not aware that my case manager planned her first day back to work after her vacation on that same day July 12, 22. If I knew that, I would have asked for a back up plan because things happen.. (Red flags are going off). She canceled almost 2 1/2 hours prior to my appointment on a Tuesday. She gave me some kind of story that she was ill and not feeling well for a few days.. (I knew that was a lie and that she was leaving the company). My appointment was on a Tuesday and if she was really sick especially for a few days prior she could have called her supervisor Pete on Monday and have him reach out to me to make alternate plans. My appointment was rescheduled 2x with disability. I left five messages for the Program Supervisor Pete with an update on the new disability appointment that was scheduled for next week. And with each message I left for Pete.. I explained what I needed , I asked what is happening with my case management and I needed someone from his office to be there with me next week. I left 1 message directly on his phone, 1 on the general voice mail for Case Management /Care Coordinator and 3 messages with his assistant George . George was very helpful and explained that my case was transferred to the program Supervisor Pete .. And give it 24 hours.. I mentioned that its been 4 days since I left the first message and three days since I left the message on his work cell phone. George mentioned to call back if I do not here from Pete on Monday, but he will try reaching out to him again for me. I finally said after the 4th call to George I guess I no longer have case Management and asked him to have Pete contact a few people at New Horizons and inform them? Well what do you know my old case manager reached out me on Friday around noon after Pete contacted her on. She told me that she was leaving the company and I will be hearing from a new case manager next week. When I called back to speak to George, I explained I already knew my case manager was leaving 10 days ago and I did not need to here that again and the phone call was very upsetting to me. I though my case was transferred to Pete. Suddenly my phone call was put on hold. George came back and said Pete was only covering for may case manager when she was sick. ((Story changes and George Lies for Pete)).. And yep Pete would not pick up the call or contact me... This is a program Supervisor... Pete s is a program Supervisor? How hard is it to call a client.. ( I did check my phone log on the computer and there was no missed incoming calls) . I went all the way to the top trying my best, calling the Program Supervisor Pete five time and he refused to call me back.. If its bad at the top there is no way things are going to be get better on the bottom.. So do not use New Horizon Counseling Center for Case Management/ Care Coordination.

Inwood Golf, Tennis and Beach Club (Yes, on the Atlantic Ocean Minutes from NYC)…read more The golf course is one of the best on Long Island, it is part of golf history and it is so close to Brooklyn and Manhattan. The beach club is only a couple of miles away from the clubhouse and is on the Atlantic. It is a great place to relax, play volleyball, tether ball and swim. The children activity centers at the beach and club facility makes it an easier day for any parent. There are always tennis members around for a game. The food is great and the parties are even better. I have been a member for over twenty years and the membership has never been better. We have a great diversity of membership: established members, young families, and young professionals all enjoying the club together. I play golf from March to December and even have found a day or two in January. I have over forty members I play golf with regularly and I am even happier to say most of them have become very close friends. It is like a second home for most of us. With golf tournaments all year long it is easy to meet and play with fellow members. I don't know of any other Country Club membership that is as inclusive as Inwood.

You can buy a similar arm chair in Bob's brand new and fresh smelling for $199.00 All in all, if you're in the area it's worth visiting since donations come in every week and you never know what you might find.

Two men came with a truck to my house. They refused to take anything. They looked at everything and said, "faded", "nicked", etc. In my opinion, every single thing was in good condition. I couldn't believe it. Do they only take new furniture? Aren't they selling, or giving to needy people, used furniture? I asked the driver, "Why?" after he refused the first item (I was just curious...I didn't have an attitude.). He responded, with a bit of an attitude, "Because the driver has the right to refuse any item." Not a good experience at all.
