Review #538 2/28/2026 I'm a patient in the Medical Group at Silver Pine for wellness check ups. I am pleased to know and use 4 different locations out of 6 for my wellness or feeling under the weather office visits. On January 5, 2026 I had a sinus infection that needed attention plus was given a antibiotic in the end of my appointment with Dr. P. Patel. He is one of the many doctors in this medical group. My regular doctor Jennifer Hichme and Kristina Batkins were unavailable when I urgently called here. The Staff at the appointment desk was kind enough to fit Me in with him and I was glad to be taken care of in a kind and attentive plus responsive way. High Fives to the staff here at this office in the Corewell Health Medical Building On Hall Rd and Tilch. The lobby is small but I wore a mask since I was ill and others were sitting half in a wellness area and half in illness section of chairs. This location also has a blood work lab that is only by appointment. I was taking care of after a 15 minute wait since I was early for the time of my appointment. The nurse to complete my vitals and short conversation was very kind and pleasant with her job. Dr. Patel was considerate, helpful with my questions plus knowledgeable to my previous health condition and surgery back in September 2025. He was careful to prescribe Me a medication for the sinus infection that would not interact with my new meds, so I appreciated that concern and attention. Like the other Silver Pine locations, the office experience, care of quality, and type of care was caring and concerning. I connected with my Corewell Health Portal the next day to read his notes about my illness appointment and results. My prescription was sent to my pharmacy after I left this office and was ready in less than 30 minutes. I am glad to have this location available and close to My Home in Macomb when I need to see My 1 of 2 doctors based on their schedule and appointments open here. The Physicians here are advanced and can vaccinate with flu or COVID shots and treat a patient with respect. My 5 stars are true based on my visits in the Silver Pine Medical Group. I certainly feel the care, compassion and professionalism of the doctors, nurses and staff at this location. They offer Self-Scheduling appointments on line too now. I have been a patient of Dr Guevara for a few years. My husband and friends also see him. Doc is very thorough in his exams and responsive usually within 24 hours to portal messages as are his PAs. Wait time is quite reasonable. Doc and his staff are caring and helpful. Doc even gives you a hug at the end of our appointment. And, he's young so will stay around for awhile. We've never had issues with paperwork. But I will say they're billing statement details are quite confusing. But what medical office isn't?? read more

I've been a patient at Silver Pine for years, from childhood to adulthood, but it seems they're now more concerned about growing as a practice than they are about patient care or loyalty. I put in a request for my yearly physical months prior. I'm no longer located on the east side of the state, so I have to make special trips just for my appointments if they aren't telehealth. A week before my appointment, I was told that the time *they* scheduled for me no longer worked because the FNP-C that I see (who I really liked - Kristina Batkins is wonderful) wasn't in that day. I explained to them my limited availability since I was making a special trip for the appointment and had to work around insurance requirements, they rescheduled for a few days later with a different provider who I had never seen before, and I made adjustments to my trip to accommodate. Ok, no big deal. The NIGHT PRIOR to my rescheduled appointment, I get a call that I was "somehow" scheduled for an in-person appointment in a telehealth slot, even though the person I originally spoke to about rescheduling confirmed the location address with me. It was obvious that they were making up an excuse for some incompetence on their end. I ask if there's anything they could do considering I made a trip to the east side specifically for this appointment and had limited days in town, they said I was out of luck and could look at rescheduling for some other time. Because I wasn't able to be seen that week, I ended up having issues with insurance, prescription refills, etc. They didn't seem to care. It's clear their priorities are with growing their practice, rather than maintaining their existing patients. It's disappointing to be a loyal patient for all these years (even making trips across the state to continue using their practice) and be discarded that easily. I've since found a new PCP and will no longer be a patient at Silver Pine. read more

I was in the lobby when they made an older man leave because he didn't bring payment. He explained he had left quickly to make the appt and forgot his wallet. They are not nice to people. He said he's a long time patient he's never had issue paying. It's unfortunate. I'd understand if it was a patient already in debt to the practice. Let's try to be nice. This is also the same office that on multiple occasions failed to schedule my mri and x-rays. This is after multiple calls. I believe their scheduling and office staff have gone downhill dramatically in the last two years. They just fail to do their job and I have to call and re schedule or beg for my referral to be sent. They need to clean house or hire smarter people. read more

I can't speak to the doctors at this location but the nursing staff working the lab are fantastic. Sometimes there is a long wait after your appointment time, but this is the only medical office that consistently is able to get my blood on the first poke! read more

I cannot tell you how many times they have messed up my paperwork and lost me time at work, money, gotten me suspended for not having the paperwork right on time, and I didn't show up for work as a result. They don't care. They promised me several times, and I've seen this happen all over their reviews, promised me that I would drive out there and they would have everything ready and who would be doing it and who to ask for a no one would come out and no one knew what was going on when I get there and it was such a repetitious paperwork. I work with someone who also has the same problem How come if it's paperwork that they're used to doing that it's never filled out right and never done when you get there after they've called and told you it's done? Another thing this has been going on a long time along with the fact that it takes hours to get a hold of somebody and they do not call you back. They do not respond on the portal and if they do you get some nonsense response, there is absolutely nothing to do with what your request is. I have been waiting on a referral for you with them for almost one month and the communication manager Mr. Francis, as well as the staff, has not even sent the referral out after my doctor has suggested it to me and doesn't require an appointment. It is holding me back over a month now which means I'll need to make an appointment with the staff and get my paperwork done through them to be out of work even longer. Which will probably be wrong again and get me suspended at work again and lose my job. Probably this time. Nobody's responding to me. I have called emailed you the portal use a callback system wrote my mr Francis the manager for communications ? How? He doesn't even reply? My house is on the line. My life is important and I don't care if they don't think so but one month out and no communication back especially from the communication manager is a horrible thing and this is not the only time and I'm not the only person. I am embarrassed that I referred this place And it's not because my doctor is bad he's actually good but the assistance really don't have the specialty and kept trying to give me stuff that I'm not allowed to take. It was really crazy and good luck trying to fight that and get a real doctor. I asked do I need to see a functional medicine doctor instead you guys not want to take care of me anymore and nobody's responding. I don't know what to do. I just want my U of M referral and I will see the doctor when I need to get a note about going back to work but I can't even get my referral filled out that does not require an appointment. He already told me it didn't long ago and my insurance nor you have them requires that what is going on in this place. The reviews are horrific. Sadly we won't be returning to silver pines. Called to make my son an appointment today because I suspect strep throat with only a sore throat no other symptoms. As soon as I answered no to their question of is he vaccinated against Covid I was told he must do a tella health visit. I then asked if he was vaccinated would he be seen in office. Receptionist replied yes. Are u kidding me!!!!! Vaccinated kids can have covid, and give it too!!!!! This is discrimination beyond Belief. I hope u guys get sued!!!! read more

God help you if you need anything from these jerks. The worst administrative staff ever. I needed a medical leave and it got rejected because Natalie didnt fill it out although she promised she would do it. I saw the form and she wrote nothing specific or even general. She took 4 business days to respond to an urgent request after I sent multiple emails, phone calls and voicemails Absolutely awful attitude because she didnt want to be bothered. I will go elsewhere for my PCP needs because now they are messing with my health, job security and illness. Save the headache and dont bother even calling them because youll never make it through the rat maze of a call system. read more

I do not believe Dr Varghese should be apart of your staff. I do not leave this review lightly as it's not my first encounter and I love Silver pines. She is condescending and rude. She will not listen to any concerns just wants to write a script and send you on your way. I saw her 4 years ago and she's completely dismissed all my concerns and instantly said it was anxiety and was going to write me a script. I found a different dr that actually did a thorough exam. I have since started seeing Dr Gilkas and his PAs which are amazing!!! My husband who I have to force to go to the Dr has been in excruciating back pain for 3 days and can barely walk. The only Dr he could get into was Varghese( i am not seeing why she had openings on her schedule Lol) She completely dismissed all his concerns, did not once even physically exam him but accused him of just wanting narcotics. Assuming she had read over his file and was aware of his history before walking in the room could see he never once has asked nor been prescribed narcotics. When he stated he wanted to know the cause for his pain not just something to mask it she didn't like that. She gave him a steroid shot and sent him on his way again not once physically examining him. I love silver pine. I wish all Dr had to go through a screening to see if they actually cared about patients or were just there for money. It's funny how people complain about services rendered through a physicians office, when they have never worked for one. I have worked for multiple physicians offices and pharmacy's. I have been a patient of Silver Pine Medical group for about 5 years. Some of these complaints are completely ridiculous. For example, to complain that you have an unpaid balance IN COLLECTIONS. Then complain that you cannot receive services is appalling absurd. No business is meant to run into the ground because of a customers unwillingness to pay their bills. Secondly, Pharmacy's will order tens of thousands of of flu shots during the curse of flu season. They also run out due to high demand , which is no different then what occurs at a physicians office. Your Doctor will typically order an equivalent amount of flu shots that were administered the previous year. They will reorder as the need demands, and if there is a year with a high infection rate this can occur multiple times. With my current employer, we have reordered six times in in the last three month, and will eventually stop ordering the injections. This will cause us to refer the services to local pharmacy's. Thirdly, the release of medical records must be HIPPA compliant. If you are not getting your records, most likely YOU DID NOT follow the practices policy regards records releases. A simple call and signature could remedy this situation. And finally, a practice of this size takes and makes thousands of calls a day. There will inevitably be a wait at times to call and schedule an appointment I have four children along with my husband, and I. I can say wholeheartedly that that we have never had these issues. I walk into their practice, I respect the staff and they respond in the same manner. If I have a wait, I understand that they see patients who have serious medical issues. Wait times reflect the physicians schedule, and I appreciate that when I am sick they take the time to address my concerns. I have physician favorites Drs. Patel, Maristela and Hall amongst others. When I call, I can always obtain an appointment with one of their physicians, and almost always my primary doctor. I am very appreciative of Silver Pine as they provide me a place that I can take my entire family too. You have to take reviews with a few grains of salt. Those that complain are far more likely to post and verbalize their anger then those that enjoy their experiences. Your welcome for the education, and I highly recommend this practice. read more

Yes the wait can sometimes be long, but that is because the doctors here are great, and people will wait for a Dr. They like. The wait is also attributed to that the Dr's will take the time to ask you pertinent questions and get to the bottom of why ur seeing them. They listen, they just don walk in, hear u have a cough, then write u a script. I've been seeing the same Dr since I was 13, and I followed him to this office. I will wait for him, because he is the kind of Dr who will fit u in. They also have an urgent care connected to them, so u can always go to that last minute if y can't get in to see ur Dr. To my surprise one day I used the urgent care and my Dr was working it! Yeah for me. They have all the testing in the building, so u don't have to leave to get a test done. They also have a pharmacy on site that pretty much has everything, and ice cream treats too! Always end up getting an ice cream treat while I wait for my scripts. read more

Arrival time - 4:15 Appointment time - 4:30 Got called back to be seen - 6:30 My blood pressure was through the roof 180/something). I told them it was probably because I waited 2+ hours in the waiting room. They took it again after the doctor hinted at putting me on blood pressure medication. This time it was in the 150s. Doctor never came back in and the nurse told me I could leave. No follow up expectation and no resolution. We wait over an hour regularly to be seen there. We will never go back. read more

I debated this review but its really true. The office staff upfront is ok. The back staff....the walls are not made of stone ladies. When you talk crap about patients we can hear you. The dr is dismissive and all about that dollar. Send a message. Every untimely reply is make an appointment. Make a telehealth. I already read my results in my chart instead of a phone call and sending something to the pharmacy we have to play the money game where you dont prescribe meds unless I make an appointment. You ordered the tests and I paid for them and now I pay you a $100 to read them to me. You can call me on the phone and escript. You have to be sick on the correct day so you dont have to drive 20 miles just to see YOUR primary care because of multiple offices and rotation. 3 phone calls and again in person to fix an insurance issue that they had wrong. Once I had 10 pages of someones chart uploaded to my account. Huge HIPPA violation. Then again July 1st 2022 when the receptionist handed someone elses imaging orders to the wrong person. Its been inconsistent and nothing but a money grab. No real care or concern for the patient....we are just customers running our credit cards getting mediocre care. Weeks of trying to communicate and being pushed to my GYN who is booking out into October. Instead the GYN nurse has been able to tell me what tests to order from my primary so that all the results are in my chart so they can actually help me. I have seen Dr. Tangalos for over 10 years , and have seen 7 of his associates down thru the years . [Doctors Hichme , Crandall, Guevara, Habicht, McCarty, Gikas , Kotsonis ] and I would go back and see any of them , all great Doctors that spend time and answer questions . Wait times are usually minimum but you must realize how people come in with one issue and end up with a list, which even i have done before. Also some people are in bad shape at the appointment and should of went to the ER which delays things as the Doc must spend additional time with them. They have had people arriving with heart attacks and other major issues , according to a retired Beaumont Professor / Doctor in the family. Like the ER , the person in front of you may be in worse shape than you are , which may delay your wait time or maybe one of the other Doctors on the team could be sick that day which may make for some delays . STUFF HAPPENS . When your health takes a turn with a need for a Specialist , they know who to pick from the areas best , from my personal gastro , heart , neurology referral experiences . I was appalled that on my very first visit to her as I tried to discuss issues that I have been facing she was dismissive and spoke to me in such a flippant manner. Dr. Guevara is the best doctor I have ever gone to. I followed him from another practice to continue to see him. I have never waited more than 15 minutes to be seen and everyone has always been professional and friendly. Even doing a walk-in to get a blood draw on a Saturday morning is fast and efficient. Here I sit. 1 hour 10 minutes past my appointment time. I've been here numerous times. Things used to run smoothly but now my last two times it seems like things are chaotic & not organized. I don't know. Dr Parrish is my normal PCP but she is on maternity leave. I really like her. Today I felt very rushed & the doctor did not want to spend his time with me. Made us come back for a visit to review bloodwork. No prescription or anything was needed. Could have been a phone call but no, instead cost us $130. Wanted to send out for colonoscopy (not covered by insurance, unless medically necessary). Said it was, but would not write up the order so it would be billed this way. Found out it would cost $1800. My Doc is great but his Admin staff leave a lot to be desired. I have been trying to get an appointment for several weeks now - have called at least 5 times. They won't give me an appointment - I have called and called and I have to go through so many hoops. They keep sending me to someone and I'm put on hold forever and no one ever answers. I have been with my Doc for a long time, I left once because of this crap and well this time its for good. I was referred to silver pine by my health insurance provider. I made an appointment, but wasn't able to make it, so I called to cancel. The receptionist told me I would be billed $50 for cancelling when I called to cancel. I explained that it's unfair that I would be billed without being advised ahead of time about the rules and practices of silver pine medical regarding cancellations, especially since I'm a new patient. When I made the appointment, the receptionist didn't mention anything about a $50 fee. I understand that every doctors office has a different policy regarding cancellations. For example my dentist charges a cancellation fee but I was informed ahead of time by signing a form regarding the cancellation policy, which is the correct way inform the patient. I need to know about any penalty fees ahead of time. This is just another sneaky billing department way of punishing the patient by sneaking in fees. read more
