After years of IVF I finally got pregnant with twins ('20/ '21). I asked what the best all women's…read morepractice was and RMA pointed me to Mission OBGYN. I was just in the midst of changing insurance when I was scheduling my first appointment. They said they wanted to see me at exactly 9 weeks to do important blood work/ check on things. I asked if we could delay by a few days by which time my new insurance would be in place and I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket. They put pressure on me and told me timing was very important so I caved. They're the experts, right? I later got a bill for over $650. What couldn't wait? A standard blood panel and a tox screen. Red flag #1, I just didn't have the bill yet. My very first appointment I saw one of the doctors and then had a one on one with the head nurse. She asked a lot of questions and I was 100% honest with her. Why wouldn't I be? I told her I was on Wellbutrin and she started lecturing and shaming me so intensely I quit cold turkey. She asked about any history of drug use and I was transparent about using marijuana in the past, before my IVF journey. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT I DIDN'T KNOW: Evidentially any admission of drug use at any time in your life allows them, without informing you or receiving your consent, to continue drug testing you throughout your pregnancy. Just an extra charge, right? All the visits were pleasant with the doctors. I remember my last appointment before my C-section was primarily me finding out what everyone's favorite foods were so I could cater a thank you lunch and everyone wished me well. I gave birth not long after. Less than 24hrs later a nurse at the hospital told me a nurse from Mission OBGYN sent over a tox screen in which I showed positive for drugs and she wasn't sure if I would be allowed to go home with my kids. I had the worst dissociative panic attack of my life. My husband was desperately trying to get in touch with any of the several practitioners. He was told they would call back, then he was told they were all in a meeting. They kept blowing him off. They never took his calls. They never came. They abandoned me. The same doctors that took at least a half a dozen phone calls from me early in my pregnancy when I was getting fevers from my progesterone suppositories and agonizing over taking so much as Tylenol now refused to see me or pick up the phone. What was I positive for? One test about 10 days before giving birth for opioids. This is the first time I was aware they had been drug testing me. I told the truth again: I had not taken any opioids. Social workers and nurses judgmentally insisted there was only one possible explanation but I had not taken any opioids. I was panicked and scared and confused. It took me almost a year later to realize.... poppy seeds. I was obsessed. Poppy seed bagels, lemon poppy seed muffins, everything bagels and everything bread and eating them all by the ton especially toward the end of my pregnancy. I was never contacted again by any of the doctors or staff. In fact, they sent a doctor I never met from another practice to tell me she was taking over my care. That's the short version. I was a good patient. I was honest. When I was in desperate need of support they disappeared. I experienced one of the most beautiful moments of my life and before I could even take it in I thought my children would be taken from me. It's taken me over 5 years to write this because it's all still so raw. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. They stole the most precious moments of my life from me and my babies

June 30, 2023 - Friday…read more Review #437 Last year in the Fall of 2022, my previous podiatrist from Associated Orthopedics of Detroit left the practice and he wasn't replaced. In March while working 8 hours a day on my feet, the joint pain came back especially painful at night. I was referred by my family Dr. Kavanagh in April to see a new podiatrist named Dr. Anthony Giordano. He has over 25 years experience in the medical field and is accepting new patients. My appointment was on June 14th. We chatted about my foot history, and he read over my medical forms that I completed in advance online. He went over my ex-rays and examined the joints in my toes. His answer and conclusion is that I have Arthritis starting. So I can say thank you to my Dear Mother. :-) Instead of a cortisone shot as in the past 3 years with my health issue he suggested a new type of injection treatment which is 3 weeks apart. It will slow down the wear and tear known as osteoarthritis and help replenish the joint. The fluid injection is called hyaluronic acid to provide a space filler to increase joint mobility reduce joint inflammation and help my big toe and feel better with less stiffness. So on June 14, 2023 I received it and I can say the pain is not as bad and tolerable and 2 more shots to go in 3 weeks. I will "keep it moving" by riding my bike or walking in which the pain does subside. My 2nd shot in the right foot joint area will be on July 11th, So - Oh Thank Heaven for 7-11 Slurpee Day. He informed Me that I will NOT need surgery since the bones are profound and no misalignment as seen on the ex-rays, just unhappy nerves. He has a Wonderful sense of humor which makes me laugh. The office is very welcoming and located on the 2nd floor of the Shelby Medical Mall on 50505 Schoenherr Rd. Shelby Township. (586) 580-3728 Hours: Monday - Thursday 9 AM - 5 PM Friday 9 AM - 12 PM Saturday and Sunday Closed I certainly will say that I am pleased to call Dr. Anthony Giordano my new Podiatrist. He has shown his caring and knowledge with a new treatment to try and help assist Me for walking in a correct, pain-free and happy direction! :-) Karen N. SpecialK

I called on a Thursday thinking I could have the procedure Friday but I had to grab the paper work and review it for 24- hours and the earliest appt they had was Monday. Over the phone you will be asked what method you choose medication or surgical, that will be your final answer, if you change it when you get there you'd need another appt if they don't have open spots. Day of: place was packed (parking lot) people had their bfs waiting in cars, please don't do this..this process takes hours..best to get dropped off and not take up spots for women who may need them. The business should have that posted on the door. Inside was a comfortable temperature, chairs hard as bricks. You sign in and eventually they call your name to the back for intake paperwork. Don't expect to be called at your appt time or anywhere near it. You enter the back several times intake, labs and vitals, ultrasound, counselor then FINALLY to see the doctor. I arrived at 915 and was out by 12:40p. No food or drink in facility. They have waiting rooms in the back, after you've been called to the back you're offered to sit back there, I always say up front. No phones in back waiting rooms. Overall I felt safe and secure, everyone was friendly, I was asked numerous times did I understand the instructions and was asked if I had any questions. I would recommend this place but I hope I never have to return..if you m lie what I mean.

This Henry Ford Medical Center offers many health services, procedures and testing based on providers and appointments available. The environment was comforting and welcoming when I saw the receptionist to check in. After waiting 5 minutes in lobby I was then escorted to Imaging Department and known as Ex-Ray. I've attached Photos of the Imaging areas and how my appointment went about which was at 4pm. The technician Jeff was kind and explained the steps and time frame for the many ex-rays that my doctor requested. He was knowledgeable too when it came to positioning my hands and fingers correctly on the glass for the proper Ex-rays. No paper referral was needed since she sent the forms by email to this department at my convenience too. This facility is clean and offers masks after entering the automatic doors for germ protection of for those who have not been vaccinated for COVID. Request an appointment with any of the providers listed on the sign upon entering. A Patient can reserve a spot in line as well for Walk-In Lab Services.
