I ordered a ride & was confirmed by Silver Lining ahead of time & on day itself. No one arrived at appointed time; no call or text to say their vehicle was running late. I called & was told to wait 5 minutes; arrived 10 minutes later only to find out there was only 1 seat for the patient but none for caregiver who was supposed to ride too. They said they could only take one passenger but patient can not go alone. They drove off and left us just like that! Talk about professionalism, problem solving and decision making. Reviewing on behalf of a patient. Used insurance to schedule a ride from Vacaville to a specialty doctor appt in Sacramento. This is the company was told they use. We scheduled more than a week in advance specifically for a day my sister wouldn't miss school and confirmed with insurance the day before. 15 minutes after the scheduled pick up time, I called to see whats going on. They just said they're running behind and put me on hold for more than 20 minutes until I hung up because its already too late. its now past the arrival time for the appt and no communication from a driver and can't get through to insurance. we missed the appt and then the driver marked us as "No Show" when THEY didn't show up on time, and we refused to leave with him because the appt was supposed in literally 5 minutes. I haven't used their services but I did observe some exceptionally dangerous driving on the freeway. Van 55 was cutting in and out of traffic, tailgating, waiting until the last minute to cut in, 80 plus miles an hour in a construction zone. Really irresponsible. I think he thought he was is a Maserati, not a Ford Transit. I tried to call the business to let them know but the recording says press one to speak to a representative. When you press one, it says invalid entry. Avoid this business if you are at all concerned about Grandma's safety. read more

A family member of mine was recently in a transport vehicle and the driver had an accident. She truly believes her driver was at fault because he was trying to turn onto ongoing traffic and smack dead into someone things happen accidents happen, however when she called to obtain the information needed Due to her being in so much pain after the accident, they gave her a very hard time with calling her back or just giving her the name to the insurance company. they were 2 and half hours late from the pick up time. They picked us (2 adults) up in a wheelchair handicap van. There were only two hard, uncomfortable seats for us to sit in, in the back of the van. Just about every window had cracks in them. One window was completely covered in cracks and taped back together. The door ajar light would blink after ever bump in the road. The worst ride I have ever had to endure. This company has no structure. They take on more work than they are able to handle which results in them almost always being late to pick you up or making you wait for ridiculously long periods of time for a ride home. I've had drivers belittle me for my treatment (I go to a methadone clinic, everyday I'm scheduled to be taken there and then home). They schedule multiple appointments for the same time so so.e days they will pick you up and then just have you ride around with them as they pick up more important clients and drop them off before finishing your trip. I've had them input my trip wrong several times saying I didn't need a ride home so I would have to sit there for hrs until the office opens to call them and find out what's going on. The last time they told me it was accidentally entered as patient will call if he needs a ride home, but they don't open their office until 2 hrs after I need the ride home so I couldn't call anyway! The sad part is I have the same pickup time everyday for a round trip (take me there, I dose and 10 minutes later they take me home), yet somehow they seem to keep screwing it up. My insurance gives me a hard time about changing to a new service so here I am. It's been months and everyday my trip should be the same, yet they find a way to screw it up and keep me waiting for an hour or three. When I try to talk to the manager he won't answer my calls or return my texts. Save yourself the stress and go with someone else if you can, this company is a joke. I'd give it a negative rating if I could. Its so rediculous I makes me laugh even though I'm stressed and angry about it. I rode with this company for the better part of a year and have a couple of points to make. First, 90% of the drivers are very friendly, relatable people. Some of them (not naming anyone) are late by at least half an hour, some of them are right on time. Second, the dispatchers overbook patients causing a whole host of problems. Third, the owner Steve *(Yelp's guidelines prohibit me revealing his full name)* will defend an employee who is in the wrong because it's easier to just get rid of a patient who is willing to submit a grievance. My father had an argument with a driver who was consistently late and when I called to ask that we not receive that particular driver anymore, I was told his employee is perfectly fine and to seek other options and then subsequently hung up on. This is unacceptable and I want to warn anyone about the owner's unwillingness to compromise and general unprofessional behavior. Again, I want to reiterate, the drivers are very courteous, save one or two. They do employ ex-cons, but I believe in second chances and some of them are the most pleasant people I have ever met. I implore you to not judge them by their past, but by their degree of candor and their attitude. Do not try and talk to the owner. You will be told you're in the wrong, no matter how minor the altercation. Steve will refuse to accept responsibility for his employees. read more

Pros Easy scheduling and customer representative are nice when you call and speak to them. Cons I would say that Silver Lining Transport has significantly declined their quality of service. There are times that they would not pick up my husband and not give us any reason why. At first they come on time then started coming late and pick up patients late. What annoys me is that when my husband was scheduled for a surgery I called and informed them week ahead that my husband needs to be picked up early and they never picked him up in two consecutive days and I have to drop my husband to his dialysis and be late at work. I would appreciate a call and explanation but nothing, no call at all. I don't know if the problem is on the drivers or the management. My family member was staying in a short term nursing home, and they regularly used Silver Lining in order to transport her to and from Doctor's appointments. The staff all looked like they walked out of a police lineup for a child molester, and were dressed like bums. They literally took 2 hours+ to pick her up after appointments. We would call to order the pickup, they would quote us at 45 minutes and we would be calling for the next hour asking what was taking so long. Every time this happened, the operator would make up or regurgitate a false story about them showing up already, calling and not getting an answer, etc. It was terrible. We finally requested an alternative - and were incredibly pleased with the service the 2nd transport company provided. I highly advise against placing your loved ones in the hands of Silver Lining. read more

Should have a zero. Vans always broke down, vandalized, under repair GAS lines slit and they still transport people. Front desk is rude and unprofessional. Manager doesn't care. Blames an employee and proceeds to still do nothing. No back up plans in place. They cater to all but also a large number of ambulatory seniors and do nothing to help them get into vans and don't care if they miss a scheduled pick up date for anyone. Drivers are nice. Hear ye, hear ye....I would prefer 0 stars....I had to call this company again today because one of their drivers was ignoring the speed limit and the basic rules of the road. The driver had to be doing 3 times the speed limit. This is the second time I have complained about their rude drivers. It was Van SL 12 this time. The person who answered the phone sounded like she could of given a you-know-what. You better think twice about putting your loved ones in their care. ZERO STARS. September 11, 2017 @ 4:00 PM This transportation company is lazy, self-centered, and a joke. Silver Lining Transportation has no sense of urgency whatsoever. My mom has been doing PD dialysis for 6 years. Last month, she contracted Peritonitis in her abdomen. The doctors recommended that we remove her catheter from her abdomen, and in the meantime...they put a port on the right side of her chest so she could start HEMO Dialysis for Monday's, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Sept. 1, 2017 was her very first treatment of HEMO Dialysis. We only have 1 car that my husband takes to work, so we took public transportation for her first day. It took us 2 hours to get there and even longer to get home. Kaiser gave us a call and told us about Silver Lining Transportation. Kaiser explained that SLT would be able to pick my mom up from her house and take her home after the treatment. I called SLT to set my mom's account up with them, on Sept 1,they were having trouble finder her in her system, so they advised us to wait 1 business day. I called back the next day, and she was finally in their system. I asked them to pick her up no later than 1:45PM (her treatment starts at 2:30pm, but they need to prep her 15 minutes before). They assured me that she would get picked up between 1:30-2:00PM. That following week, my mom waited for them to pick her up, when she realized that she would be late to her treatment, she called SLT. Come to find out, their lazy employee NEVER put her into the system, which meant she wasn't going to get picked up. SLT had to hire a taxi to take her to the clinic and hired a Lyft to pick her up. My mom waited for them for a total of 1hour and a half. They reassured us, again, that she was in the system, and that she would get picked up between 1:30-2:00PM. Today, my mom waited for SLT to arrive. When they didn't show up by 2:00PM, we tried calling SLT, but they were giving us the run-around. Finally, at 2:30 a gentlemen by the name of "Robert" called my mom and told her that he was outside. I walked her down, and noticed that he was parked on the other side of our complex. I waved for him to meet my mom. When I asked him why he was late. I specifically told him that her appointment was at 2:30PM, and that I was told he was supposed to be here between 1:30-2:00. He says, "If you look at my schedule right here, it says I'm supposed to pick her up by 2:15." I say, " but it's 2:30, you're still late." He says, "well, call the office and speak to the Scheduler." These people don't understand that they hold my mom's life in their hand. If it's such an inconvenience for you to do your job, then why not work for a company where you DON'T have to deal with patients? You applied for the position, right? I expect nothing more than for all of you to do your job. I've called the office numerous times and they're all taking my mom's life as a joke. If my mom misses even 1 treatment, that's a 40% chance of her being hospitalized, and her chair could be given away to a patient that is there on time. ************** September 11, 2017 @ 6:00PM UPDATE. Since Robert was one hour late picking her up, my mom had to cut her dialysis short one hour. Robert told my mom, "someone will be here by 5:30 to pick you up. If you're not ready, they are going to leave &, we will send another person when. You're done." My mom lets her nurse know, so they disconnected her early. Mom was outside waiting for the driver by 5:25. It's 6:00pm right now and they still haven't arrived. I call their office, and they try and call the driver to see where he's at. To their surprise, he doesn't answer. They don't know where he is. So now, they are calling a Lyft to pick my mom up from the clinic. She could have stayed in the clinic to finish off her last hour of treatment. Instead, she's waiting for a driver that will most likely not come. read more

Today, I was parked in the parking lot near the RAI Care Center off of Elk Grove Boulevard. My son was in the barber shop next door getting his haircut. The mini van from this company pulled up next to me and went into RAI to pick up an older gentleman. They both came out and it seemed like the older man was having a hard time getting in the car unassisted. He opened the van door and hit my mirror. He said " I don't think I hurt you" to me (about my car). I didn't say anything. The driver didn't apologize, look at my car or anything else. He said, "Nope,you didn't" (to the elderly man) he then closed his door and they drove off. This company should have a policy that people with walkers are provided assistance while entering and exiting a vehicle. Go the extra mile for your client's, make sure they can maneuver into your car safely and provide extra assistance if needed. An acknowledgement or apology of some sort would have been nice. read more

Arrived late for pick up. Got us to our appointment late. It was a long distance transport and the doctor was not going to see us until I explained that we paid $585 dollars to get there and that we were dependent on medical transport so they agreed to fit us in an hour later. The driver made several wrong turns that cost us valuable time. More wrong turns on the way home and his driving was a bit scary. The one good thing was that the van was new and very nice. Silver lining accommodated our needs and the family was very happy with the service. The family especially said they were happy with the driver, Leroy. A driver for this company pulled out into traffic almost hitting me when I was in the right on way on my motorcycle. The middle aged Hispanic female driver then flipped me off and seemed to think it was some how my fault. She did not check traffic before pulling out, and had a patient in her van that she was transporting. I called the offices to report this and will update my review if I hear anything from them. I would not trust this company to transport any one I cared about with a driver who is this careless and flippant while actually having a patient in her vehicle. The driver was speeding around 80-85 in morning traffic cut in and out of traffic and laying on the horn anytime someone got in their way. At the beginning this transport did really well, but they failed to let me know what their contract says, so I didn't know that it was the "three strikes you're out" sort of deal. Later, they became really late, which I didn't mind because I know that they have other patients to pick up, but just yesterday, the "higher ups" for the dispatchers just called "the shot" from their end half an hour earlier, at first making me look bad by saying that I was the one who had called off their services for the day, in which they failed to call me to tell me that their refusing their services for my sick father, and I so happened to have an appointment around the same time that my dad had his dialysis. Imagine if I wasn't home when all of this was going on, and thank goodness for my mother being there! I don't hate this company, but I don't necessarily like how they run themselves either!
